To call a school "rotten" is a scathing indictment, and I hope it's based on actual experience. Our actual experience is that teachers have been with the school for several years, with turnaround being mostly in the ranks of assistants whose work visas expire. (It's a Japanese immersion school, so many workers are Japanese citizens.) The Seattle administration is a bit disorganized, but the owner is very responsive and the teachers cheerful and committed to the children. Based on our looking at several daycare and montessori/preschools in Seattle (downtown), the turnover rate at Megumi Seattle is not high at all. A Japanese immersion school is certainly not for everyone, and there could be several reasons to not pursue this one, but the quality of the teachers is not one of those reasons.

This school looks nice on the surface, but is rotten underneath. The teachers are overworked, underpaid, and the teacher turnover rate is less than a year. I won't entrust my child to a school that changes teachers so fast.
