Dani shot our son's Bar Mitzvah and did a great job of it. She has a lot of experience in this and it showed. I wanted someone who knew their way around the ceremony, the facilities, the people, and knew what pictures to take, and we got all that with her.

Time for photos at an event is really scarce and it would be easy to let it slip by, but she didn't. She was business-like in her approach and that's a good thing. She was on top of what needed to happen and made it so.

I should also mention that we also made it difficult for her by not wanting to start too early and instead to continue taking photos after the ceremony. She recommended against this, but when I insisted, she unhesitatingly went along with it and did a great job.

In fact, after the ceremony we went a overboard directing which pictures we wanted with which groups of people (mostly us posed with all the guest families separately). Someone else might have bristled or balked at being directed for what was probably a half hour, but she didn't at all. She went along with us and took great photos, In short, when we left it to her she delivered, and when we were being directive, she happily went along and gave us what we wanted.

I will definitely use her again next time.

Having Dani as our wedding photographer brought us superior photos, great wedding advice, and an advocate who made us and our guests look and feel our best from beginning to end of an important day. Thanks to her lengthy photography career and countless wedding and event shoots, Dani's help begins the moment you meet her and with more than just photography. Her help is direct, with clever ideas and a genuine dedication to making your event your own. Her level of service and quality of product is a rare find these days. Meanwhile, you'll have someone on your side the whole day who is completely focused on making you look your best. Moreover, Dani is having fun with her job, which totally quashes stress, making everyone smile and have a good time too. I recommend Dani to everyone I know whether pet portraits, corporate photos, weddings, kids, whatever. She is simply the best for more reasons than I have words.

Dani Weiss is one of the most talented photographers in the Seattle area! Her photos are incredible - weddings, portraits, family, etc. - traditional & journalistic. She is a bit spendy, however, worth every penny. She is worth meeting with to discuss your event. She is funny, kind and just great to work with!

My partner and I did a lot of research and deliberated thoroughly before hiring a photographer for our July 2008 wedding. We were looking for someone who would take excellent photos to tell the story of the day, but it was equally important to us that we find someone with whom we were comfortable, someone who would not be at all squeamish about two men walking down the aisle. We didn't want to break the bank, but we agreed that photography was important enough to be one of our bigger expenses, since the images would shape our memories of the day and last a lifetime. We found Dani's website online, and then met her the very next day at a wedding show. And we kept running into her! She showed us her work, took the time to meet with us, and really won us over. As I mentioned already, we did interview a number of other photographers but we kept coming back to Dani because of her experience, professionalism, quality and, frankly, her humor.Leading up to our wedding, she was extremely helpful with reminders and recommendations. About a month before our wedding, I got the idea of doing a large group shot of all of our wedding guests together; Dani and I discussed the pros and cons, and she was very willing to try and make that happen for us (which she did, beautifully). On the day of the wedding, she and her second shooter were absolute pros, so pleasant, fun and thorough. The photos they took for us do indeed capture the people, details, and both the big and small moments of the day, but the emotion also comes through very strongly--such beautiful and loving shots. Dani was very timely in turning the photos around and posting our website, especially during her busiest time of the year.We were entirely pleased and would recommend her without hesitation.

"We used Dani for our August 2008 wedding and were very happy. She got all the shots I asked for. She wrangled 3 families for the formal shots and got lots of great formal shots of the 2 of us all in the single hour we had on the boat. We took shots of the bridal party at gasworks before being able to get on the boat and loved those too. She choose some great locations and set ups there. I also think that not being too crazy about how many shots to get, and being very clear with her helped as it would with any photographer. Think about what you really want and then cut out the rest. Not every second will be documented, and if you want that then hire more photographers, and a vidoegrapher etc. It was important to me to respect our guests and not make them wait around forever for the ceremony to start while also getting all the shots we needed. I think her business like attitude (some sensitive folks might think her a little pushy) was what got the photos done and our wedding started on time. She was not there to be everyone's best friend and when she moved people along I was thankful. I have looked at several of my friends wedding photos and feel that ours are the most complete. As I said she got all the formal shots I wanted and only missed a single guest at the party who I suspect t was hiding from her. Sure there are a couple of shots I would have liked to be clearer, and she did miss a couple of moments. However, I think this is the case with any event. No photographer can anticipate exactly which moments are going to be the most special to you or are going to turn into something unique. A wedding is a living, breathing thing and can not ever be completely captured in photos. I think Dani got 90-95% of everything well. That seems like excellent work and worth what we paid. I would absolutely recommend her to others."

We had a wedding as well as a family shoot. Dani was ready to go for the entire wedding day, was courteous and fun, and had our photos ready within a week and a half - completely what she promised. The family shoot was done on short notice and we were delivered a CD with quality prints within 2 days. Both packages were great values. We are not a hard-to-please family, but we do realize when we get good customer service, pricing, and quality, all in the same package.

Dani shot my wedding in August, and our engagement pictures in June. I just picked up our wedding album at the beginning of January. I am so happy with the pictures. My husband is not comfortable with getting his photo taken, so she had to work hard with us for the engagement photos. And, I am an extremely detail-oriented bride with high expectations for staying on a timeline, getting all of the shots I wanted, etc. Dani got all of the shots I wanted and more, and did a great job of moving through the shots in an efficient manner. My sister was married the previous year, and loved the pictures Dani took so much that she ordered more photos from Dani than she did from her own photographer. I thought that Dani did a great job (the glass for our engagement photo/wedding signature mat was broken - she quickly had it replaced - no questions asked). I thought she was well worth the money, and I would be happy to work with her again.

I used Dani Weiss for both my wedding and my baby girl's newborn photos. My husband and I were new to Seattle and Dani clicked with us right away. When we met she spent a good deal of time with us reviewing our location, it was outdoors on a beach, she was willing to go wherever, and had good ideas for back up photo opportunities in case the Seattle weather didn't comply, lucky for us all went well. She got us great pictures during the service, everything- even my bridesmaid wiping away tears. Also very good pictures after the ceremony, one of our pics made it into the Knot magazine, which was really fun. A year later she came to our home to do a session of newborn photos with my family, my parents enjoyed her demeanor and we had a really good time together. Everyone was comfortable and relaxed- from which we got great pics! I recommend her all the way, if you're into a real personal experience. She understood us, and caught the moments we hoped for.

As was ai bridesmaid in a wedding that Dani photographed. While the end product was nice, I found Dani herself to be disheveled looking, definitely not dressed appropriately for a wedding, and her attitude to be pushy and rude, while using inappropriate language in a church! I realize photographers need to be dressed comfortably to be able to take excellent photographs; however, it is still possible to be comfy and look more professional than an outdated loud print skirt, faded stretched out top, black socks with some bare leg showing, and overly worn casual shoes. I just didn't think her appearance was wedding appropriate, nor reflected well upon her skill. As well, whether in a church or a backyard, the F-word and other foul language is never appropriate by a professional at a wedding. Overall, the photographs Dani shot were good, but her professionalism was not, and the impression I was left with was that Dani Weiss was not a person I would ever hire or recommend.

I cannot speak to whatever might have happened with Anonymous' (the bride?) and her situation, but Dani shot the photos for my wedding last January, and we had a fabulous experience with her. She was professional, courteous, and and artist. Her photos were exactly what we had hoped for, and more. Although I couldn't imagine that I would need to have the shots professionally printed after I received my proofs and the disk of photos, I was thrilled that I had pre-ordered them, and I actually asked to get more. At the ceremony, Dani made us feel comfortable (on a crazy day!) and was respectful as well as bringing a sense of humor to the event. I don't consider myself to be particularly photogenic, but she allowed us to focus on the day itself, and we ended up with lovely and flattering photos that we are even excited to give as gifts.

Sorry you had a bad experience, but maybe you should not leave anonymous critiques! It is so much more meaningful if you deal with issues directly. Dani's directness was one of the characteristics I really appreciated... such as, " It's time to cut the cake!" I mean... who knew? I could have hung out all day...

I take a lot of pride in the way I run my business and have for he last 20 years. I have never heard any complaints from clients, nor did the below client ever come directly to me. I contacted this website but never heard back from them, so I thought it would be helpful to post my rebuttal.

The review posted below is completely inaccurate. This person has not contacted the business in question and is telling lies! It is unfortunate as her photos are beautiful and she had a wonderful wedding! This client has 10 rolls of posed portraits from her wedding. There were 23 rolls of film shot at her wedding of which the other 13 rolls were candids of all of her guests, ceremony and reception. What she did not tell anyone is that she ran over on her timing by 2.5 hours. This is why her cake cutting was in question. The cake cutting was covered in her photos and I even gave her free time to cover the end of her wedding. She was also told to bring her checkbook as she failed to make her payments on time. The date was available and was a fluke and was the only free date I had in a 3 month summer time period. It is unfortunate that this client doesn't have the guts to direct her problems to the business. Having photographed 600-700 weddings and events, I would not still be in business 20 years later if I wasn't doing a great job and loved what I do. Being courteous to clients is my utmost importance! I have no idea why she is saying I was rude to her guests! Unfortunately, this person has larger issues than her photography. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

We had Dani shoot our wedding & we learned that there was a reason she was available on short notice! She was awful. We paid her about $4,000 for pictures my eight year old could have done with the family camera. She didn't stage anything, there was no thought involved in her photos. She was rude to the wedding guests, complained she couldn't stay until the cake was cut & always "reminded" us to bring our checkbook when we spoke to her. She was almost worthless. Go anywhere else, ask your old Uncle to photograph your event. He would do a much better job.
