this saturday we spent the whole day exploring ever corner and alley of ID. therefore we have decided to spare you and spread our discoveries out over a couple of volumes :) it was a yellow day, i think we were hoping that somehow amidst all of the fog we could entice the sun to show his face. amidst the cold morning we hastily made our way to the yummy house bakery, pausing on the way to look in the window of a cool but closed card shop, where we had heard rumors of the delicious coconut buns they serve. as we peeked in we saw the neighborhood grandfathers with their mugs of drip coffee in hand, and newspapers spread out before them. we walked in and were greeted by a smiling face with a red beret... we were astonished to find that there was not only one coconut bun, rather three to choose from. what was to be done? well we asked which one sold the best, and ms. red beret pointed to one very assuredly. then we were asked if we would like milk tea to go with it, very good we were promised. so with milk tea and coconut bun in hand we settled into the table by the window so we could watch all that was going on in the neighborhood. ahh delicious! the coconut buns were amazing and we knew our day had started perfectly.

If you want just good tasting pastries, you should try this place out. They do not have fancy upscale pastries, just the delicious kinds of carbs. When you walk in, you can smell the freshly cooked breads, which tempts you to try out different things. Since I'm around the area quite a bit, I like to get a few here every now and then, but it is not something I would go out of my way to go get some bread for.
