Walking into this place, it reeked of authenticity and a passion for Italian cuisine.

The store is run by homely, casual people. The walls are decorated with keepsakes they've collected from ages past and its awesome!

We had noticed this restaurant for a long time, and finally made it in, and will never go back. The waiter seemed to be really annoyed that we were even taking up his time, and seemed in a rush to get us out, even though the restaurant was practically empty. He never asked us if we wanted drinks, never smiled, and never offered a wine list.
My husband & my friend ordered something that was listed as pappardelle with asparagus, and received fettucine with one miniscule slice of asparagus. I had sausage & lentils, and the lentils must have been boiled with no seasoning because they were as bland as baby food. We will not be back

I don't know why anyone would go here for dinner when there are so many other great restaurants within 5 blocks. My husband and I had dinner here for the first (and only) time - here is a rundown of our experience: great calamari, good pilaf and beef dish, completely over-salted fish soup, clueless waitress who had to be reminded that we had ordered drinks (and who responded sullenly to our question as to whether they'd be out soon) with grubby fingernails (no kidding) and an owner who didn't seem to care at all when, on our way out, he asked how our dinner was. We were honest and told him that the fish soup was over-salted and our waitress wasn't very good - and, oddly, he didn't really seem to care. On a good note, now I don't have to feel bad if and when they go out of business.

Pros: Easier parking than other areas in Belltown

Cons: Service, food not that great

We usually post up here at the bar for Sunday dinner - they let us
bring in some wines or we choose from their list.
Jim owns Cucina De Ra - a great little
Belltown Restaurant, and he's been doing restaurants in
Seattle for years and decades and definitely knows what he's doing.
Furthermore, he has fun with it and that rubs off the 'vibe' as a whole.
Great food, including the bolognese, the boars meat ragout, the pasta dishes
and salads to die for. It's a really fun restaurant, good for family occasions
(family party was in there for a private dining event when we were there last),
dates, romantic get aways etc. It's a great little find with surprisingly under
rated, under noticed food in the seattle restaurant scene. Enjoy

I have been at this restaurant 3 times now, the first two I thought I give them the benefit of the doubt since they were new and the food was pretty good. I even took some friends there! The 3rd time I took friends and I was so embarassed! The food was OK but very slow on coming. The only waitress was very distracted and, GET THIS when it was time to pay, the credit card machine didn't work and they didn't have any change! What kind of business is open for lunch without any money or a working credit card machine?!!! The waitress wasn't even apologetic. I will never go back!

We're not sure why this place is always empty, but we've been there numerous times and have always enjoyed the food and service. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and everything on the menu is delicious. We just got back from another great meal. I had the stuffed chicken which was moist and very flavorful while my girlfriend had the 8 hour braised lamb shank which practically fell off of the bone. Highly recommended!

Dined as a party of two for dinner on a Friday night. There was another party of four when we arrived, but we were soon the only patrons in the place. The service was very attentive and friendly, and the food was great! We started off with the Beef Carpaccio, which came with shaved parmesan, capers and a generous drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I had a tagliatelle with proscuitto and asparagus in a cream sauce. The proscuitto was generous, but I would've loved more asparagus because I'm an asparagus piggy. My companion ordered the braised lamb shank, and it was truly divine. The meat literally melted in your mouth. VERY generous serving as well. It came with a tasty risotto and lots of extra chianti glaze. The fresh-baked bread was great and promptly refilled, served with a butter that had some kind of red spice coating that seemed to be more for decoration than taste. Large wine list. My friend had a chianti that he enjoyed, and I had some kind of white wine that the waiter suggested and I didn't catch the name of. We did not order dessert because we were too stuffed from dinner. It was a pricey meal, the total was $82.05 before tip, but it didn't hurt my feelings given the quality of the food and service.

Wow, what a great find! We went there on Saturday and the place was empty, which could our group of seven a little concerned. We sat down and had a wonderful experience with a great waiter and even better food. The bisque was great, as was the endive salad. All seven of us enjoyed our entrees, they were phenomenal. The portions were perfect, not too large and not too small. The bread was served warm and was delicious. Also, when someone from our group asked for a Cesar Salad, which wasn't on the menu, they offered to make the dressing fresh. It was delightful! We will definitely be going back for more! If you are looking for a child friendly restaurant this may not be the perfect place, but I think you could bring children, just beware that there isn't a changing table in the bathroom.

I really love this restaurant and I come here at lunch quite often. Very good crab bisque and risotto. Nice prices. I also like the salads, high quality lettuces. Never overly crowded or too busy. Right near the sculpture park. Across the street.

This service here was poor when we went there Saturday. I ordered the Capellini with Maine Lobster. When my food was brought out there was no lobster in the dish and instead had crab & shrimp. The waiter never told me they were out of lobster when I ordered it. I asked the waitress if they were going to reduce the price since it wasn't what I ordered & it didn't have lobster (which is why the dish was more expensive). The waitress said no. Later on I ordered a beer. The waiter brought me the wrong beer & wasn't going to take it back until the waitress came over and told the waiter to exchange it for the correct beer. Thankfully the manager was nice and helpful when I spoke with him a few days after this incident. He apologized & offered to send me a gift certificate.

Decided to try this restaurant after reading the 1 review that was available here on Citysearch. I'm always looking for a good Italian restaurant and wanted to try somewhere different. We ate there last night , 3 of us. We all tried different entres and salads & they were all great! Very tasty and good portions. Excellent service. Huge wine list & there is a full bar. We'll definately be back. The atmosphere was nice. New restaurant, open feeling and not crowded, probably because its relatively new and off of 1st Ave.

I just recently discovered this hidden gem of seattle on citysearch. I have never had a more tasty italian meal in my life! The menu is awesome and the wine selection does not dissappoint! This is my absolute favorite Seattle dinner spot!

Please do not waste your money going to this restuarant. I am not the type of person to spend the time to fill out a restaurant review but i want to warn people about this establishment. To start things off the staff is rude and did not service our table properly. We waited over an hour for our food, while waiting we ran out of wine and were never asked for another bottle (party of 6) and once our food arrived it was cold and very bland. My Gnocchi was undercooked and tastless.... my girlfriends penne puttanesca was also undercooked and it had bitter after taste. To top it all off it was very exspensive.
