I can see why someone in a smaller town with no other music stores around would resort to using FYE, but considering Seattle's wide selection of better quality music stores around, I fail to see why anyone would find any reason to go here. Not helping is the near-$20 prices for almost all of their CDs, when you can get the same albums for almost $5 cheaper almost anywhere else. Also not helping is the clueless staff who seemed to have dropped in from Gamestop: I walked into an FYE's at South Center Mall one time out of curiosity. They had some "buy two, get a third free" kind of deal which I decided to try out. The CDs I selected were not eligible, and when I tried to ask the clueless high school kid workers WHAT Cds were eligible and how do know which ones were or were not eligible, they said something about a list, which I had no idea what they were talking about, and their lack of help, information, and a clue irritated me enough to just walk out empty-handed. Not much of a loss if you ask me! I'll just go to Silver Platter's, Easy Street, or, heck, even Border's and Best Buy are better than this place for crying out loud! I'm really quite astonished that this place has survived as long as it has at all, let alone in a city like Seattle. The day they go the way of Tower Records and Sam Goody, of all the expressions I will make, one of them will NOT be surprise.
