We moved in June 2010 and did not have a great experience with them. They overbooked on the date I selected and they should have been upfront with me when I scheduled. Instead of Adams usual crew he sent out his brother or cousin who has his own moving company to do our job.

Then they didn't send a big enough truck to fit all of our stuff from our house. Everything was crammed in and of course that meant that something got damaged. One of our dining room chairs was broken but they have done absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. Basically it is covered under the Basic Protection Plan which is $0.60 per pound or about $6 for our chair. I am sure it will cost a lot more than that to repair it and over $200 to replace it. To me it is more about how they handled the claim rather than the cost to fix/replace the item. I constantly had to call or email to get them to follow up and then they would say one thing and never follow up with it.

They knew I would be moving again in a few months so it just amazes me that they were so willing to treat me the way that they did. I am spending my money with another mover because of their poor customer service.

I had these guys move me in June, from a 3-bedroom (partially unused) into a 2-bedroom.

First, the pros: the movers themselves were great, very professional, and very courteous to me even though I was visibly upset with their dispatcher. They were also very competent - literally the only damage was to the cheap plastic shade of an equally cheap lamp. This is a huge contrast to my move with Graebel, when the movers were rude to me and to my family and managed to scrape and nick 10 out of 12 pieces of furniture. It was also really helpful to me that they were available to move me on the weekend, since I had a packed work schedule through the entire month and I'm not sure I could have taken the time away.

Now, the cons: the dispatcher is pretty inept. Several days before my move, he gave me a four-hour window and promised I'd get a call when the movers were 60 minutes out from my place. The day of, I came home 45 minutes before the "beginning" of my four-hour window, to find an e-mail from him saying, "Oh, I lost your phone number, can you send it to me?" (Bear in mind that this was the phone number he'd had no trouble calling me on several times.) I replied with my phone number - still within 10 minutes of the e-mail's send time - and just as I did so, my doorbell rang. It was the movers, arriving outside of the window I'd been given and without "Adam" having given me any call-ahead or indication that my time had been changed. And no, they wouldn't go away and come back within the window.

So I got to pay them to do for an hour what I had planned to do myself for an hour (pull books off bookshelves). That's 80 bucks I didn't need to spend on somebody else's mistake (if I'd known I wouldn't *really* have notice, I could have postponed the Home Depot run until after they'd come). I also didn't get to supervise while they loaded or worked in the house, which could have been a real disaster if the movers had been less capable. (As it was, the only victim was my antique rug - they didn't know they weren't supposed to tromp on it. Thankfully it's due for a cleaning anyway.)

Bottom line: the movers I got were great. I would recommend this company - just don't believe anything the dispatcher tells you. Even if he says you'll have notice and they'll send people at a certain time... you won't and they won't. Save yourself the pain and just assume you have to set aside the whole day.

After moving twice in Seattle on our own, we decided to hire a moving service for our third and longest move (all the way from Belltown to Capitol Hill). On their recommendation, we hired 3 guys and a truck. I was worried that because the price was so low (around $600 for the truck plus labor and gas) we wouldn't get great service. I couldn't have been more wrong - they were all incredibly professional and very carefully handled our belongings. They were also very efficient - packing the truck, the drive, unloading, and time for lunch took under 6 hours (and it was alot of stuff - I do not travel lightly). If we do another in-city move, we will definitely be calling them. Also, I would disagree with the other reviewer that all of the e-mail contact is a con. It was great because there was a great record of everything and they quickly replied to all of our inquiries.

Adam's Moving Service did an outstanding job! We hired Adam's to pack and load up the whole house. They arrived exactly on-time to pack up the house and did a great job conquering the whole 4 bedroom house.
The three men who showed up were very courteous and accommodating.
They had the entire house packed up in 6 hours and we were ready for the big move the next day. They arrived right on-time for moving day and got right to work. It was nice to have the same crew from the day before because I knew they would treat my stuff with the respect that did packing it the day before.
The move was flawless and I will absolutely use them again!

Pros: Fast, wonderful customer service, very accomodating, on-time, well priced

Cons: Be prepared to do a lot of communicating over email
