I have been to a few chocolatis in the seattle area, but this one surpases the Greenwood or Green Lake one. I love that there is an upstairs area which seems like it provides more seating than some of the others, but if you do walk up one set of stairs and it is full you do have to walk back down to walk up the other side, something about this strangely appeals to me. I enjoy the horchata and my friend loves the darth vader hot chocolate. I hear the chocolates are pretty good too. It can be crowded seems like many people come there to do their homework which kind of gives it a library like feel and causes me to feel bad for making silly conversation with friends, but I guess if people don't like it they can go to an actual library.

Pros: variety, upstairs seating

Cons: no parking, everyone seems to be studying.

I love coming here to grab some coffee or hot chocolate and nestle into their big comfy chairs with my book!! I have always found the staff very friendly. The truffles I have tried were delicious! When I finally find myself with spare time cafe chocolati is where I go!

This place seems to be getting a bad rap on this website and I wanted to offer some of my thoughts which may contradict the other reviews. It is true that there are a few baristas which are a little difficult to deal with, but it is also true that some of the sweetest people in Seattle work here. There are a least 4 baristas that I would say are some of the most personable baristas of any of the coffee shops that I frequent on a regular basis (Zoka, Solstice, Cafe Allegro, and Irwin's). Their coffee is good and if you like hot chocolate, they have a number of fantastic options. I usually get an Americano and a truffle. That way I can manage the sugar intake. Their internet seems to have improved as well. It used to be fairly unreliable, but has worked every time recently. I think that the cafe is a very nice place to study and a nice place to come hang out with a friend. It does get a little too crowded around finals time, but its nowhere near as bad as either Zoka. I think you should go here. Its an interesting Seattle coffee shop with a unique flavor that is not to be missed if you like the coffee shop atmosphere.

I am a conniseaur of chocolate, having travelled with my parents from the source of the bean, to factories in Belgium, and Switzerland as a child, and learning the process through testing (aka - tasting a lot of chocolate). Therefore, I was excited to have a place in my neighborhood with a name such as Chocolati. You can imagine my disappointment if you have been there.

The staff behind the counter is altogether too unpleasant for someone serving CHOCOLATE! And the product doesn't taste the freshest. (Save yourself, go to Theos.) My hot chocolate, The Europa, had the mistake of being too sweet. I was hoping for more cocoa, not more sugar too. I prefer chocolate the darker, the better. The truffle tasted like the milk was breaking down and oxidizing, so I'm concerned about the refrigeration process. (Are the trucks cooled that bring the chocolates from the factory? Is the chocolate kept out of plastic to avoid sweat?)

I hung out, the place looks so cool, and the free Wi-Fi was enticing, but it quit on me twice while I was there, and the surly bat-caver wannabe behind the counter was too scary to approach a second time. I won't be returning.

Pros: Ambience, and local art

Cons: The counter help, the quality/freshness of the chocolate, no parking

This place makes great chocolate, there is no denying that. However, the baristas make the environment one of the most annoying in Seattle. They seem to treat the space like their own personal living room instead of a business. The lack of professionalism is astonishing. I'm all for them having a good time at work, but playing music so loud you can't think and then listening to them yell at each other over the music. I like this place, but don't count on it for a good place to study or carry on a conversation with friends without yelling. My advice would be get it to go!
