Reviews for Gold's Gym

Ratings_icons Gold's Gym is AMAZING!!

Brittney D.

Wow after visiting this gym today I can honestly say there is NOTHING else like it!!!! The staff is GREAT and the facilities are AMAZING!!! Who would have thought of a ACTUAL THEATER for cardio??! That blew me away!!! It has EVERYTHING I could ever wish for and more!!! Whoever is complaining of price need to visit some other gyms! You get what you pay for!!! If you want a run down club than go for that $20 membership, but if you are looking for quality and comfort go to this Gold's! I paid a $400 enrollment and $70 a month for a club in Seattle that didn't come CLOSE to what this gym has!!! Go check it out for yourself if you don't believe me :)

Ratings_icons Gold's Gym is not user-friendly.

I'm trying to cancel my membership, but the person (Jason) I'm supposed to talk to won't return my emails or call me. This is a much different experience than when I joined - they couldn't talk to me enough then.

How much was the cancellation fee?

====
I was told that I could get out of my contract by giving a 30 day prior notice of my cancellation. This is not the case. You have to pay a hefty fee for cancelling your membership before the end of your 12 months.

Ratings_icons Employees are Snobby, Unfriendly, and the gym is not worth it!

I went to Gold's Gym after moving here recently to possibly sign up for a membership. I ran into an employee named Paul. We were talking for less than 3 minutes when a somewhat attractive blond walked by. . . i can't even tell you how quickly he lost his train of thought and had to literally apologize for loosing his focus and I had to start the conversation again. I was literally disgusted that this young guy showed more interested in a girl he probably could never get, than a potential client in this type of economy. Not only that, the gym is way too costly for times today. For the past month, I have almost met my goal weight (I'm just trying to shed the last 10 pounds) by running daily and doing at home Pilate's. I would not recommend this place because I feel that the service they promise is really only half way met and most of it, they charge extra for... I'd recommend finding a small studio or possibly a club like environment rather than this gym.

Ratings_icons Member for over a year

I cannot recommend the Issaquah Golds Gym. I have had many disappointments since joining over a year ago. The pool is more than a year behind as promised when I joined. They have more members than towels. Surprising that a gym runs out of towels!!! They also have more members than classes. Classes fill up 1/2 hour prior to the class. You need to show up 30-40 minutes before class or you are turned away. I have a family membership with my husband and 2 children. When I show up with my kids they tell me they are not members and I need to pay extra. When contacting management they tell me I should let their help know how to access my account on their system. The front door help is not trained, young, and unfriendly. I have called and been told they are open just to show up, stand around for 30 minutes and find out the instructor is not showing up. This Gym has some serious management issues and if I had it to do over again I would not join.

Ratings_icons Too Costly

S P.

The person who showed me around obviously didn't listen to me when I said I don't like free weights and love classes. I got a 10 min tour of the weights, then he tried to breeze through the rest of the tour. He actually made me feel like an idiot for asking questions about the Cardio Theatre instead of the weights. I decided to give the gym a shot anyway and did the 7 day trial. At the end of the trial I sent an email and asked how much the membership was. I was told $149 enrollment fee and $69 per month. I emailed back and asked him to send me something when they had a special because I felt the price was WAY higher than the other clubs in the area that offered more facilities. I got a message back that said they never do specials and when the pool was done in January it would cost over $300 for the enrollment fee. While it is a very clean, new gym it really isn't worth the extra $678 (+$149 enrollment)per year. (compared to my new 24 Hr. Fitness membership)

Ratings_icons Member since opening

Have been a member since it opened in June 08. Club seems well run and is generally clean. Pricing is expensive in comparison to other gyms on the east-side. Pool is way behind schedule but seems finally under construction. Locker rental is expensive also, but there are fewer and fewer lockers available to the general members every time I go.

Ratings_icons Damn, thought Gold's was supposed to be affordable

Dan S.

This place isn't cheap. $69/ month for an individual membership plus tax! Oh, and almost $200 enrollment fee. Maybe I'm cheap, but when you can get 24 hour fitness for $300 for 2 years through Costco, Gold's seems expensive.

Ratings_icons BEWARE: Read the Contract

Dana H.

I signed up for a Golds Gym membership about 4 months ago and now I find myself regretting that decision. I thought that I was going to be able to enjoy working out in the brand new facility. However, my experience was quite the contrary. I was told that I could get out of my contract by giving a 30 day prior notice of my cancellation. This is not the case. You have to pay a hefty fee for cancelling your membership before the end of your 12 months. Also, you are not able to keep your clothes overnight on the premise. You have to bring your clothes every time you go to the gym which is a hassle for people who go to the gym right after work. They also said when I signed up that the pool would be open in January and it currently is still under construction. The staff is inconsiderate and the membership coordinators are deceptive and do not tell you all the facts when you are signing the contract. I am very upset about the service I received from the staff including the General Manager who was rude and inconsiderate. BEWARE of the Golds Gym in Issaquah.

Ratings_icons Brand NEW!

Kenna O. | insider Insider | Rank: 24,132

The Golds Gym in Issaquah opened not to long ago. In fact they are still in the building phase. They have brand new equipment and they have personal trainers available to work with you. It is inexpensive and worth every penny.
