I took half a day off for a 9 AM appointment to get the oil changed in my Jetta. By 2 PM, the oil had still not been changed. They told me that my brakes were failing and needed to be replaced. The brakes in question were new and had been replaced a month before by Les Schwab across the street. Took the car back to Les Schwab and there wasn't anything wrong with the brakes. Also I ended up taking the entire day off to get my oil changed and averted a scam. Not a place for a woman to trust her car.

well i take my ford truck down for them to do a full brake job front and rear . All new parts wink wink . Less then a year later need brakes again due to poor work . The pads in the front and down to the metal rear brakes are out of justment . OH yes i have taken this to them about 3 times and the same thing they are fine works for two days and back to the same promblem just dont stop or locks up and skids Really just a bad shop

This is in reply to Bob C who gave a very poor rating to Canal Automotive. I hope you will give reconsideration to Canal. I have used Canal for about 12 years and used many of the new car dealers in the Bremerton area. When I was younger I did many of my own repairs including clutch replacements, engine replacements and electrical
repairs and consider myself quite knowledgeable. First, its not likely that a clutch repair will cause transmission failure unless the driver would be aware of problems of driveability and should have returned within the 90 day warranty. Secondly, during the period mentioned I
beleive the owners had another person managing the business while they were dealing with a serious life threatening illness.
I believe this business has some very well trained outstanding mechanics who perform better than, or as well as, any nearby new car dealer. I know that the temporary manager was a little "gruff" in dealing with some customers. I also have been in their office when some customers are extremely ignorant and rude to the employees. If you are that type of person please do not go to that business. If you can be considerate and businesslike, the owners will do everything possible to please you and you will receive the best service anywhere. I am thankful to have such a high quality of service in the North Mason area.
The owners are back. Please give them another try.

In May 2010 Canal Automotive replaced the clutch in my vechile. Subsequent to the repairs made by Canal Automotive, the transmission in my vehicle failed in August 2010. I took the vehicle to a reputable mechanic and he advised me that it was due to poor workmanship and the use of incorrect parts used by Canal Automotive for the clutch replacement that caused my transmission to then fail. I have requested a copy of my service invoice and they have refused to supply me with the information. I have called several times; they scream at me and hang up the phone. I later found out from my new mechanic that Canal Automotive charged me $800 for a $400 repair. Poor Customer Service, Poor Workmanship and Over Charges. Save your money and time and go elsewhere.

We have used Canal Auto Repair for all our auto and our Motorhomes. They have always been fair and gone out of their way to get us back on the road if we had broken down. If you need local mechanics who are knowledgeable about both autos and RV's, I can personally recommend Canal Automotive Repair.
