I've used Howard's services on several occasions - both personally and for a nonprofit I serve on. Howard is prompt, reliable, courteous, and reasonable price. People with nothing better to do with their time have posted phony reviews.

This guy screwed me over when I got locked out of my car. It took him over an hour to get to me, not the 15 minutes he promised. Showed up in an unmarked car, then he charged me $185.00 to open my old ford van. (over three times the price he quoted me on the phone) Then he made me pay cash, gave me a generic receipt with a fake address, the whole deal. This guy is a total thief and should be in prison!

Scam Artists! These guys stuck it to me but good! Charged me three times what they quoted to unlock my car, but graciously let me pay with my credit card. The next week, charges started appearing on my card from places over in Europe where I have never been. Oh ya, did I mention that the guy who opened my car was driving an unmarked vehicle and had a European accent. Hmmmm.....I would stay clear of these thieves.

WARNING!! This is not a legitimate company and they will rip you off. They are part of a nationallocksmith scam that is happening all across America. These companies are notorious for taking advantage of vulnerable people who have been locked out of their car, home or business. They falsely advertise and quote low prices for their services then when they get to your location, they change the pricing most often OVER-CHARGING CUSTOMERS BY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!! To make matters worse, most of them are not even American citizens!! BEWARE!!!

Crooks!!!!!!! I got the same shafting as Amanda, Skeeter, and others. The guy made me wait in the cold for 40 minutes after I locked myself out of my house, then gave this long explanation of how difficult my lock would be to get into, and said $280 plus the $25 call charge. Of course at that point, I've been locked out of 1.5 hours, had appointments I had to get to and based on his explanation of the level of difficulty, I agreed to pay the $305. Then the crook got out an old fashioned lock pick and it took him literally 10 seconds to open the door! I hope you all have disputed any charges if you paid by credit card. As one reviewer said, the address isn't even legit. I have looked up the secretary of state business registration website and there is no record of Mike's Locksmith at that address.

Bait & Switch Company. They quote really low prices over the phone, then change the pricing on site and significantly overcharge you. They are not "Real Locksmiths" as the feedback below indicates and they do not have a location at 908 NE 47th as their listing indicates. They do not drive marked vehicles or wear any type of uniforms. In fact, they usually work out of un-marked passenger cars. Furthermore, If you asked one of these guys with a heavy foreign accent for a Green Card, they probably could not produce one. This is not a company that you want to do business with.

Looked up my old review to find Howard again and noticed the slander below. Follow AquilaD, from Houston, if they haven't removed her for abuse, and read all of her reviews. You'll find she posted the exact same review for 31 Seattle-area locksmiths all on the same day. From Houston. Yeah I imagine Seattle locksmiths won't DUPLICATE YOUR KEYS FROM LONG DISTANCE!

Excellent, prompt and friendly service. Very nice guy who, as another reviewed mentioned, is a one man operation. When you call, you are talking to the person who will do the work. He has been in business over 20 years and I would highly recommend him. He doesn't take credit cards though so have your cash or check ready.

Followed up on the first recommendation, and not for the rating, which seemed low (3 stars?), but for the testimonial.

Ravenna Locksmith is indeed a personal service shop by the owner, Howard Nevitt. He was able to make an appointment for the next day, he was timely, and he was able to address the problem well within the outside time I had to deal with it. As well he took care of a couple of other little problems that had been bothering me for some time but that I had always lived with. The lock is not only repaired, it works better than before it malfunctioned.

Total cost: $65 visit charge, $30 half-hour labor = $95. I rue buying locks at Home Depot, rekeying them, and then finding I was in too deep. Next time go to the expert. The non-returnable locks (because they are rekeyed) are the price of learning, hopefully you'll avoid that from my experience.

Howard the locksmith could show a lot of people how to treat customers. Don't hesitate to call him. I think he's a one-man-show so you know who you will deal with as soon as the phone is answered.
