4 Stars: Really good Thai food for years (by DasCoug)

I haven't been to Thai Kitchen for a little while so when I went back I didn't know how the food would be. It was very good and I seem to remember it being very good last year too. I need to go back more often. Good service too.

1 Stars: Bland Food + No Heat (by NC1)

1. No heat!! You know, that would have been ok because these things happen. But they didn't even tell us when we walked in. I had to ask the server to turn up the heat and she told me that their furnace had broke that morning. With two small kids in two, it would have been nice to know before unbundeling them so we could go somewhere else. Or maybe that was their master plan to make us not leave.
2. They sat us way in the back. After we complained, they just happen to mention there were portable room heaters at another table. Hmm.. why didn't you seat us there in the first place??
3. We ordered the tempura. But what we got were vegetables with onion ring batter. This was NOT tempura. If I wanted onion rings, I would have gone to TGI Fridays.
4. I ordered something that was described in the menu as Tofu with basil and garlic (without spice). What I got were some steamed vegetables with barely flavorful tofu. "No spice" doesn't mean "No Flavor". I never did taste any garlic.
5. Lastly, they offerered us some free tea to warm us up. This was nice, but it was just warm water. There was barely a hint of tea flavor. But it did keep my hands warm holding the cup I guess.

All in all, it was a horrible experience. I left hungry and cold. I left a tip at the end because I always do, but now I regret it.

5 Stars: Best Thai Food on the East Side (by CMan23)

Thai restaurants have invaded the East Side over the past couple of years. Many of the newer restaurants are corporate run. They offer nicely styled restaurants but often the food is mediocre at best and service is lacking.

The Thai Kitchen in Kirkland is one of the first Thai restaurants on the East Side and remains family owned. The quality of the food is consistent and the wait staff is very dedicated to making your dining experience very enjoyable. When entering the restaurant you feel the genuine Thai hospitality at work here.

I eat lunch here most often. I really enjoy the lunch combination's. For about the same price as a premium hamburger at one of the fast food chains you can get a delicious and freshly made meal that is much better for you.

For dinner portions seem more generous then some other area restaurants and pricing is inline with other ethnic style restaurants. My family has never been disappointed or left feeling hungry. Its a great place to feed a family.

1 Stars: Can't belive high ratings! (by vseznayka)

Went to this restaurant lured by great reviews on Citisearch. Don't know what went wrong, ether new management, or perhaps chef took a day off, but everything we ordered, soup, pad thai, shrimps, appetizers, everything was beyond bad, it was unpalatable. They even managed to screw up "home made" lemonade... I didn't even know that it's possible to make bad lemonade, before I tried their version. They did replaced the lemonade with tea on our request, and the tea was fine. The rest of the food we just left on our plates and went home hungry.

5 Stars: Oh so tasty Thai, authentic in Kirkland (by jooz)

Went here for an authentic Thai meal, it was tasty and affordable. Had a couple of boozy drinks and the total bill was $30 for my wife and I, pretty decent, and very filling. The place is cute and very authentic, and all and all delicoius Thai food in the heart of Kirkland!

4 Stars: Excellent food, great service (by eChivo)

Been getting food at Thai Kitchen in Kirkland for the last couple of years (usually to go). The food is great and the service is too. The Bangkok Chicken (3-4 stars) and Chicken Satay are my favorites. Great selection of curries. Solid Thai food on the Eastside.

5 Stars: Great Service (by sara B.)

This place is a local spot for us. We frequent it weekly. They are always friendly and extremly accomodating in to go orders or special requests.
It is nice to be recognized and greeted with a smile and the food is great as well.
Mom's BBQ chicken is very good!
Ambiance is neutral, but the service and good make up for it!

5 Stars: A bit of Thai on the East side (by spankymouse)

The food and service in the restaurant is always great! The little egg rolls with plum sauce are super addictive and the Phad Thai with chicken and add fried tofu is the BEST .....We also really like the Swimming Rama, the portion here is twice the size of any other Thai place on the east side .......Thanks for being one of the very few great places to eat in Kirkland.

1 Stars: OK Food, Horrible Service (by TeagueandEamon)

Tonight is the third time in a month that Thai Kitchen has screwed up my order. The panang curry and potstickers are great, but I've gone home three times with the wrong food. It's a disaster to not simply acknowledge a mistake (it's ten dollars, for goodness sake) and make up for it. Their response also completely depends on who answers the telephone. There are too many other Thai restaurants in the area (I live near 124th and 132nd) to put up with such horrible service.

5 Stars: BEST THAI FOOD EVER!! (by lavernes)

We experienced the BEST Thai food we have ever eaten right here in Kirkland at Thai Kitchen!! We had spent a month in Thailand, know this is the real thing. We ordered the Tom Ka Gai soup which was full of mushrooms and chicken in the most delicious coconut broth we'd ever tasted. We (four of us) also ordered four entirely different dishes along with jasmine rice: Panang Curry, Ginger Lovers, Thai Rama, and Prawns in Black Bean Sauce. Each dish was significently different from the others, each was a real dining sensation. We were almost embarrassed by our oh's and ah's of pleasure. There was not one bite remaining when we finally left. The service was outstanding, and the to-go counter was busy the entire time, too. Please, ignore the "bland and boring" review previously written - it simply has to have been written by a competitor, and a jealous one at that..

5 Stars: Thaitastic! (by hbooth)

Pleasantly surprised. The Thai food is decadent, healthy and high quality. We enjoyed an evening at the Thai Kitchen that was exquisite and hands down risen above the bar in competition. It is a quaint little spot in Kirkland, quiet, and the service was timely and respectable. I would highly recommend this restaurant's flavor to any one craving a delicious Thai lunch or dinner.

When I moved to the Eastside I was worried I wouldn't find as many Thai food options as I had in Seattle. Thai Kitchen has more than satisfied that need & I'm so relieved! I haven't missed the neighborhood restaurants I left since I found it. :)

2 Stars: Bland and Boring (by pramod1975)

We went to this restaurant based on the reccomendations of citysearch and other reviewers and were utterly disappointed. The food was extremely bland, and not tasteful at all. We had the vegetable tempura for appetizer and it was an interesting twist but the sauce provided with it was more like ketchup. Our main dishes included the red curry with chicken and I ordered it 4 stars out of 5 for spiciness and it was extremely bland. There are definately better Thai restuarants to visit

5 Stars: Favorite Thai Restaurant (by debbiekat)

This is my favorite Thai Restaurant. The food is consistently good, the menu is extensive and includes one of my favorite dishes (Mussaman Curry with Chicken). This is also the restaurant where my fiance and I had our first date. Others have mentioned the atmosphere and location are not the best, but it is conveniently located and the owners have decorated it in a very cute way. My only complaint is it sometimes feels cold there in winter time due to it being a storefront location. Favorite dishes: vegetarian egg rolls, tom kha gai, mussaman curry, phad thai, coriandor beef. I might also mention that we recently brought some food to go to a friend's house who happens to be practically a gourmet chef. She raved about the food as well.

5 Stars: One of the best Thai I had so far... (by kdkd)

Sunday night, my husband and I felt like having a good Thai for dinner but didn't care about sitting down in a restaurant. I read a review that highly recommend this place so from their beautiful website, I was able to look at the menu and place the order by phone. I left right after I hung up the phone thinking that it would take me longer to get there. Ten minutes after, I was picking my order, nicely packed and boy! did it smell good! The quality is very good, the taste is wonderful... a bit too spicy but still delightful. It is truly one of the best Thai food I had so far and we will definately revisit Thai Kitchen soon.

5 Stars: Yum, yum, yum yum. (by rnoia)

I Love Thai food and love Typhoon, but I may have to say that Thai Kitchen is at *least* at par with Typhoon if not surpassing. It. Satay is to die for. Dishes with the garlic sauce are excellent. Dishes with oyster sauce are excellent. I can't think of anything food wise to change. Dishes are large and are more than enough for 1 person. EXCELLENT.
