We didn't see these reviews when we bought our engine from Everdrive. We ordered it, paid for it, and it was shipped to us quickly (on a flatbed truck all the way to Michigan). Our mechanic inspected it and was pleased. They were the only ones that had the engine we needed. Town and Country Repair in Imlay City, MI, didn't clean the sludge out of our oil pump and pan when he replaced the heads, 100 miles later and in the middle of Detroit the engine blew. Our $500 repair turned into another $4500. We brought it to another mechanic and he told us to find an engine. Everdrive came highly recommended by the mechanic so we were glad when we found an engine with them. Being by Flint and Detroit we were shocked we couldn't find something local. We have since put on 121,000 miles on this engine, in the 3 years we have had it. No repairs needed on this engine so far. (321,000 miles total on the truck) I see that they are out of business, however this is a message to those who owned it, you took care of us. We don't have complaints and came looking for you now that a friend is in need and is getting the run around from Surefire Engine.

People, just give up. This company was a scam 100%. They went day in and day out looking up the parts you bought on the free public website www.car-part.com. They chose the cheapest person they could, and sent you the part, and did not give a crap how long it lasted. The company went under, you will never get your money back, and sorry but you got scammed. You can call Mr. Joey Woodfin at Woodfin Auto Parts (www.woodfins.com) as he is who owned this POS company. Maybe you can get something out of him. Good Luck. Sadly, Mr. Richard Sharpe of Cicuit City and Carmax was the chief investor, so he is who to speak to about the company going under.

Dear Joe Woofins,
Everdrive has ripped me off. The first transmission I paid for was bad; the second transmission also went bad. The second transmission is still under a 3yr-guaranteed warranty, but they are out of business. To complicate the matter each time the transmission was installed, I had paid for the labor installation. I lost thousands of dollars dealing with Everdrive. Now, I would not stop until I recover something back. As a result of this issue with Everdrive, I have neither my car nor my savings. I am a student who needs my car to go to school. I am in jeopardy of being kicked out of school because I have no transportation. I called Consumers Affairs and they said since it is a LLC they can't hold his other "front" company liable. Second, Everdrive had no assets therefore there is nothing they can recover for me. The only option is to take legal action against him. If you would like to be apart of this effort please email me chrisblackwood@hotmail.com. In the subject put "EVERDRIVE RIPPED ME OFF TOO."
Before I post this in a blog, I would like to see if Joe would like to rectify this situation with me before legal action is taken?

Dear Sir...Yes the company went out of business last November. their major investor pulled out and the doors were locked up. Unfortunately for you, any warranties made are null and void now. For what it is worth, I used to work there and your lower intake leak would not have been covered by their warranty anyway. The warranty only covered internal engine parts, not any gaskets.

I interned with Everdrive, LLC. through a program I applied for last summer (2010). I spent 4 weeks at the office in Midlothian, VA and also spent a day working at Woodfin's Auto Parts. Part of the program was that I would see every part or the business, and so I spent a few days in every department, from listening in on phone calls for orders, customer service, and waranty claims to ordering parts from suppliers, shipping, and billing. What I can tell all of you that supposedly got ripped off is that Everdrive was a well intended company, I believe they were in over their heads. They entered a market that deals with a lot of money for parts and I think did not organize their business the right way. They had a CEO, and three VP's as well as several high level managers, all for an internet based company, with less than 150 employees, the top heavy leadership meant that when customers talked to a "manager", they were talking to somebody who was not experienced, because the real managers were sitting in an office being overpaid. Bottom line, the people on the phones were inexperienced, underpaid, 20-30 year olds, and the important people were 40 year old, overpaid, wanna be executives from the defunct Circuit City. I am sorry for all of you who lost your money, but I wanted to offer my thoughts on the company.

Just for those of you that were ripped off by this company, Joe Woodfin's company Woodfin Auto Parts is actually operating out of one of Everdrive's building. if you notice on the packing slip from your parts, the core returns went to 12910 Genito Road, Midlothian, VA the same address as Woodfin Auto Parts is currently operating out of. They even offer the "Guaranteed 3 year warranty" Sound familiar? pretty sure this constitutes some kind of fraud because of the fact that it appears he simply just changed names and if he is proven guilty of fraud, even though Everdrive was a LLC he can possibly be held responsible after they went out of business and if nothing else I would say we should see about having his business license revoked for Woodfin Auto Parts. Planning on doing some more research. Will keep you posted

So everyone, I have to tell you all, EverDrive was a rip off. They spent day in and day out taking your money, looking up the parts on the free public website www.car-part.com, and buying substandard parts at over half what you the customer paid for them. All that was ever done to the parts was they were cleaned and a little paint sprayed on them to make them look good. that's all, in the hopes that the parts would be good and not go bad. How their snake oil salesman of a CEO Joey Woodfin ever got contracts with the likes of O'Reilly Auto Parts, AutoZone, or Pep Boys I will never know, but I am sure those companies are regretting ever hearing his name now. The company took hundreds of thousands of dollars of customers money in the last few days they were in business and never shipped one single part out. Also, FYI for all interested, I have found out that Mr. Richard Sharp of CarMax and Crocs Shoes was a major investor in this piece of crap company. If you can't get your money from Joey Woodfin, maybe you can get it from Mr. Sharp the millionaire. Good luck everyone!

Everdrive ripped us off too. First of all, we were never told the parts were used, and on the initial phone call, I was allowed to believe I was purchasing a rebuilt transmission (for our van).

I don't care how guaranteed your parts are, if you are replacing a part that fails on a vehicle because that was the factory weak point, replacing the same failed part with a used part is just buying time until the part fails again. It is not a fix.

At first they seemed great, we were told that it would be a 3 days turn-a-round, that the towing would be taken care of, the garage fees would be paid. They acted like they were this huge company and everyone knew who they were.

Well after 3 months on the phone of dealing with children who couldn't find my order, or had to call me back when they did because they needed to 'talk to their manager' we finally got down to business and they shipped a part.

Except the garage had never heard of them, I had to arrange the towing, and the transmission failed less than 12 hours after installation.

So they send another part. This time the mechanic refused to touch it because the transmission fluid inside was scorched (even though the part was painted a bright color and looked new).

After another few phone calls of first asking and then demanding my money back, I was finally told I would get a refund. About 3 days before they went out of business.

You can imagine my surprise when I called that Monday to see if my check had been mailed, and there was no answer....

What a horrible rip off. I believe they knew they were going out of business and purposely kept our money.

I too have been ripped off by Everdrive. First transmission sent died in a week. Second one sent was the wrong one. Third one actually worked but I still have an additional 2 grand in tow bills and a rental van for my customer. Fortunately I didn't send back the one transmission that was the wrong one until they paid me my money. Will have it tested and assuming good, will sell to recoup a bit.

Bottom line, however, isn't about the money. It's the questionable integrity of the owners and employees of the company. How do they sleep at night?

Joey Woodfin and his henchman Arlene are dirtbags. They told me that they refunded my money for a part I ordered just before they closed. That was over a month ago. I urge all of you to call them directly until they act human:

Arlene Will : 804 339 8533
Joey Woodfin : 804-363-1111

I purchased a engine for the price of $859.99 and I have not had one regret with the proformance and workmanship of this engine. I purchased it 11/12/2008 and it is still running with not problem this engine was for a 1985 Buick Regal and I am sorry that they are no longer around.

For everyone that got taken for a ride by Everdrive, you do have several options to get your money back. File a chargeback ASAP, the company probably will not fight it sio your CC or bank will issue the credit. Also contact the Attorney General in Virginia and file a complaint, remember the owner of Everdrive owns Woodfin Auto Parts as well, if he was writing bad deals with Everdrive he is probably doing the same at Woodfins Auto Parts. You can also contact the suppliers they sent parts from, look at your Bill of Lading from the freight carrier and get the address from were the part was sent from and look that address up on the Internet, call that supplier and see if they will honor there normal warranty. In the used parts business they warranties range from 30 days to 6 months. These suppliers were probably screwed as wll but some are good people. I hope this helps some of you aout there screwed by Everdrive.

News flash everyone.....Everdrive is/was owned by the same guy that owns Woodfins Used Auto Parts, Joseph Woodfin. To everyone that bought something, you're screwed. The company is filing bankruptcy and you will never see a dime of your money back not do they have to honor any warranty. Oh, also, Everdrive was a LLC, so you can't hold Mr. Woodfin or any other investor/manager in the company liable for any of the shot that they sold while in business. Face it, everyone got screwed!

I am sorry for all of the customers that got ripped off from EverDrive. I was ripped off also. Please understand that you more than likely will NOT get your money back. I will more than likely NOT get my money either. Dealing with EverDrive has been an interesting learning experience. ALWAYS LOOK INTO ANY BUSINESS THAT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Woodfin Used Auto Parts worked closely with EverDrive, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THEM ALSO!!!

Just about a month ago, we had an Everdrive transmission installed in our van.. We paid the extra $100 for a 3 yr. warranty. BUT, their transmission leaks.
This seems unfair to send us a faulty transmission, and to take warranty money, if they are going out of business.
We want our money back, of course. And, it cost $1250 to install. WE had to follow all Everdrive's warranty guildelines in order for them to honor their warranty, SO WE DID!
Can anyone help us get our money back?
Thank you. Sally!

EVERDRIVE Sucks!!! The transmission I bought was 10 days late then the POS arrived defective. I called to complain and they issue a return authorization and told me their carrier would come pick up the item and they will inspect it then credit my card. They never picked it up and they dont answer their phones and now the website is down. DON'T GO NEAR THESE INTERNET SWINDLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a VW tranny at the tune of about $2650.00 and had to shipped directly to the auto mechanic. It was installed, test driven by the mechanic/ shop owner and has not been working since. The trans was ordered & installed in ~May and here it is FREAKIN' December & my car's transmission claim is stilll NOT Settled.
F()@& settled! IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED! DON'T BUY FROM THESE "FORKED TONGUE" FOLKS!

I order a transfer case from EverDrive. This low life place took my 507.00 dollars through my bank card and never sent me the case. I am in the process of trying to get my mony back. Stay away from this place.

So I bought an engine from these people, 3 year/unlimited mile warranty, paid the extra grand (over the price of an engine from a wrecking yard direct) to get the warranty. What a maroon! When I realized the motor was burning oil, I contacted the warranty department and faxed in the required paper work. The warranty was in effect and they sent out an adjuster to "inspect" my truck and because the truck didn't visually smoke, they are slow playing me, saying there is no proof my engine is burning oil. Did a consumption test and e mailed pictures of my odometer and dipstick and now I can't even get in touch with ANYBODY there! No, of course not, everdrive is no longer, they have now closed their doors. Bye bye warranty!

When my father purchaced and engine from this company they are quick to get the money but not to fix the problems. They are not answering phone calls or anything else. I guess seeing them face to face will be the only option. It is easy to dodge but not in person.

The only thing I can say about Ever Drive is that they don't keep up with their warranty at all , they will find any type of excuses to not have to replace the part you bought from them ! they lie about the millage of the part " motors and Transmission " They don't give you details about the warranty when you buy from them ! of course they don't want to make it work any ways ... Well in one word ! this company is a fraud and if you buy from them don't expect them to warranty the part if a problem occurs because they won't , they will always find a little something to not have the warranty kicking in ...

I just purchased a used transmission from everdrive.com, in Midlothian, VA, These company is a fraud! They supposely offer a 3 yr. warranty, to make you not resist on the purchase of their junk. This part was installed and it did not last a month when it blew off. I had the the transmission installed as requested--by an ASE certified shop. The owner sent the paperwork request right away. They are supposed to respond within 24 to 48 hours, but they didn't. I had to be the one calling in order to speak to a representative. They asked for the labor invoice to be refaxed or emailed because apparently the copy is not showing half of the invoice info. so the invoice was emailed, they still didn't contact me within the 48 hrs. as said, so I am calling them several times in order to speak to someone, left messages to different people I had been talking to, because every time I would speak with someone it always was a different person. They gave the run around for about 10 days. When they finally tell me they will contact me withing the new next 48 hrs., they tell me that my warranty claim was not validated because insufficient informaiton. I asked them to tell me exactly what they needed and what was sent to them and they told me that they did not have the paperwork for the warranty with them. after getting very me very irritated, they told that the labor invoice from the mechanic did not specified all parts to be installed listed in the warranty papers, So I told them I would get this done by the mechanic, but all they said was that they would no longer receive any more papers from either me or my mechanic. Please advice everyone you know about this fraudulent company.

They sent me a malfunctioning instrument cluster. They sent another to replace the first one. Same problem. Two $315.00 installations, totaling $630. They offered to send me a 3rd. for $50 off. I declined. I sent their defective parts back. They will not reimburse the $630.00. Their web site said they would reimburse these charges. They did return the $267 I paid for their junk. Customer service will not put you through to warranty. Faxes are are not responded to. They have no reason not to stand behind their promises. They will not even answer the question why. You can buy the same stuff from a regular junk yard for a lot less. Do not waste you money on a warranty that does not exist. I have never reviewed anything before. But, these people are the lowest form of life. There is a special place for liars and thieves. They should enjoy there money here. I suspect they will be disappointed with the exchange rate in Hell.
