This is the real deal when it comes to Cuban dining. I really like dining there on summer evenings when they open up the windows which look onto the Farmers Market area. It gives the whole restaurant a great open feeling.

The food is quite good. I especially like their Black Bean Soup and the Paella is wonderful, and its enough for two meals.

They also have a humidor at the bar for the cigar smokers in the crowd. No problem for non smokers when the windows are open.

Very nice restaurant.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Richmond. I had high hopes because I love Cuban food. The pork appetizer we ordered was nearly raw in the middle and when we sent it back, our waitress said it was supposed to be that way. I'm fairly certain that pork is not to be served medium-rare - if so, they should let diners know this when they order it. The entrees didn't get much better. I was going to order a traditional Cuban dish, but since I wanted to avoid undercooked pork - I switched to the steak dish. I ordered it medium-well (thinking the kitchen tended to under do it). It came back cooked very unevenly - some sections were well-done while others were medium-rare - I don't even know how that can happen. In addition, the service was extremely slow. The spinach empanadas we ordered were given to another table so those came late; we waited 45 minutes between our appetizer and dinner with no explaination. Two good things - the atmosphere and the mojito. So if you want a nice place to have a drink, this place is fine. Just don't order the food.

Pros: Atmosphere, Drinks

Cons: Food, Service
