I have lived in Shenandoah Farms for the last 9 years and have stopped into this place on several occasions. In my opinion, it is not worth my time or money to go in there or purchase anything from this place. The employees and owners are not very polite. Their prices on their shelf products are marked up higher then other convenience stores in the area. The short order type food that they prepare is nothing to write home about either. Undercooked, overcooked, too salty, and on one occasion I had cigarette ashes in my meal. Not really a respectable business when you have too much of the local "rift raft" and druggies hanging out there. There are many more respectable places in the area within a 10 mile radius. Some yourself the aggravation and just drive a bit further. -- James Kenner, Boyce, VA

This is not a very good place at all. The employees are sarcastic and rude, the food is not good (i.e. overcooked, over salted, undercooked, etc, etc...), and they are over priced on the majority of their consumer goods compared to the mainstream convenience stores in the area. IMHO, it is not worth your time and money. You are better off driving a little further to a different store.

I have stopped into this store only a few times over the last few years. Overall, I can honestly say that I have never been impressed with anything. What I have ordered from their so called "deli" has been horrible with what seems to be little to no culinary expertise at all. Their shelf products are often beyond their expiration and the rest of their products are over priced. I didn't like the atmosphere or the clientele. It almost seemed like they (owners / employees) were doing me a favor as opposed to being appreciative of my business. There are other options available in the area if you are looking for more than six pack of beer, a carton or pack of cigarettes, or a bottle of soda.

I'm selective when it comes to a Reuben sandwich, and Jim's is the place I go when I want one. In fact, their sit-down, restaurant menu offers a reasonably-priced daily special and wide variety of delicious meals; from burgers and fries and fried foods, to the best barbecue sandwiches around. I've never been disappointed! If it's deli you want, or a prepared sandwich to go, you'll find it all at Jim's, and if the weather is nice, you can eat at one of the picnic tables just outside the front door. You can call ahead to order as well, and your food will be ready when you arrive!

Additionally, there's a convenience section which truly is convenient; including tobacco products, sodas, canned foods, breakfast cereals, condiments, general household goods, and items to meet your fishing needs (Jim's is a weigh-in station, and you can get your fishing license there too). They carry a broad variety of alcoholic beverages to be consumed off premises; including beer, prepared drinks, and a very nice selection of wines.

Jim's Country Store accepts major credit cards, and cash works just as well.
