.

WRR, the only 24 hour a day classical music station in North Texas! You will hear the announcers repeat this many times a day.It is one of the few classical music stations left in the whole country. This is not a Public Radio Station, but a commercial station owned by the city of Dallas. Every few years a city councilman wants to sell it, it's a valuable property, or thinks the station will do better with another type of music. So far, it has kept it's niche as a first-rate classical station. Knowledgeable announcers tell you the work, the composer and the artist before and after each piece. Performances of the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras are recorded and played on WRR.For 20 years, Quin Matthews, a former announcer on the station, and Sharon Benge have hosted a program call Art Matters,. I have heard people wonder, is that a noun and a verb, or an adjective and a noun. Depends on how you want to think of it.,The volunteer group, Friends of WRR publish a monthly newsletter. My radios have been tuned to 101.1FM for nearly 40 years, I'd be lost without it.
