***WARNING*** ` Phil Dill Boats "The Spoiler of Wet Dreams"

Heads Up Guys!

Ok, I don't like writing but this is worth the read. I have a real nice late model cruiser with 128 hours that has been meticuosly maintained. I was out on the water at the begining of the season. The boat was running great but didn't come up to full power and plane out, (It did earlier that day) I tried it again and after a few minutes it came up to full power and planed out, it did this twice that day. I took it in to Phil Dill and said to replace the fuel filter and that it may need new plugs, rotor and distributor cap. I get a call stating that a cylinder was dead and the spark plug was burned and that it would have to be rebuilt, but they didn't do that type of work but they had someone who did and it would be $6K to rebuild the engine. So. I do know something about engines and I went over it again with them asking what they checked and got the same answer that a cylinder was dead and it needed to be rebuilt at the cost of $6,000. Well some people, with deep pockets that don't know anything about engines probpally would have said oh, ok. I ran up and picked my boat up and got it out of there immediately! I had the compression checked and everything was fine. I changed the fuel filter, plugs, rotor and cap myself and it's been running like brand new ever since. I'm going to post another experience as this was a different time that happened at Phil DIll Boats

Even though I went there just to look and said so at the beginning of my visit, I was still treated with a level of courtesy and respect from all of their employees, any person would assume would be reserved for their buying guests. I was pleasantly surprise when I enter their showroom to not feel any pressure to buy by either a member of their sales staff or the stores sales managers. I hate when I have to enter any sales company??s doors, I am usually inundated by sales people, be it for cell phones, appliances, auto vehicles or a watercraft, their sales people become like killer bees, they just swarm the customers to death. Those companies, who are offering services or products to the public, need to put their sales staff on a salary because the ones on commission are killing any desire to buy their products. This is not the case with the sales personnel at Phil Dill, they greeted me yes but waited till I showed them I was ready for assistance, they were patient with my questions about their finance and Insurance department rates, compared to my personal bank rates, their finance manager was able to offer me better rates and terms then my own bank which I??ve been with for over 20 years.(Time to look for a new bank) This is good information to know and have when we do find a boat my family can agree on, I can trust their finance department to locate and offer us a rate that is equal to if not better then the rates by my personal bank, putting the savings back into my pocket where it belongs, the prices I found that they offered for their products/services are a fair market value, when compared to other companies prices, but Phil Dill is willing to do some negotiating on price with their customers. All and all if I was grading them on a scale of 1-20, basing the grade on these areas: their chosen industry, the pricey products and the quality of the products they are selling, the quality and reliability of their employees and F&I department and the sales managers as they dealt with me and the sales persons knowledgeability of the products/services relate to the products they are selling, as well as my feelings based on if I feel I can trust the employees and/or the company I am dealing with, if I feel their employees are being honest with me or just blowing smoke to make a sale or me go away. FOR ANYBODY WANTING TO BUY NOW THEN THIS IS THE PLACE THEY NEED TO BE. I give them 17 out of 20. They are a fair and honest business, willing to negotiate with you a fair and pleasing sale price, usually below their competitor??s prices too, great after care services to choose from to keep it maintained so you don??t have to worry about it being ready when you are.

We bought our boat from Phil Dill 13 years ago. They have serviced it - via winterize/summerize every year since. We''ve also had to send it in for repairs due to accidents here and there. The service dept is exceptional and they deliver on time.
