We moved our 3 bedroom house and garage recently. A! Alstate movers came at the promised time and the two men assigned to move us were wonderful! I have never seen two men work so hard! We were in our new house 6 hours later.

We moved a number of antiques, and they took excellent care of this furniture. At our new house, Items were placed where we requested.

I am totally pleased with this company and with the excellent service we received. Bravo to Pedro and Julio.

I booked a move for a small 1BR apartment, then decided I needed to add packing services as well since I had a fractured leg. Every time I called, the lady that answered the phone was just not very personable. First impressions matter. On the morning I expected the packers to show up, my phone rang an hour earlier than expected, with a crew from Allstate asking me for directions. They called back several times (ever hear of Mapquest? I'm at a major intersection) and finally made it to my complex.

When they finally got there, I thought it was strange it was two men in a large moving truck. Sure enough, they came in, saw that nothing was packed and asked, "Uhh, what are we moving today?" "Er, we're packing today, not moving. The move is tomorrow." Yep, the moving crew got the day wrong and rousted me from bed at 7am. Two hours later, the actual packing crew showed up.

The packers were fast, but I noticed that (as I was paying by the box), some tiny items, like shot glasses, were wrapped in wads of packing paper large enough to protect the Crown Jewels. Pretty sure had they used actual foam glass sheaths, I would've ended up with about 5-10 fewer boxes. Despite all this packing, one of a set of two Harrods bone china teacups from England never made it to my new home. Broken or lost, it was just not with the other one. Very sad to lose such a nice travel memento.

Also missing after a full unpacking at my new home (other than the $15 Harrods cup): large blue Sports Authority gym mat ($30), used Panasonic bikini shaver ($30 - who in the world would want this??), and one small makeup mirror ($10). I actually needed the mat for some physical therapy for my leg and had to go buy another one. When I left a message with Allstate asking about the mat, received no return call of any kind. Have had to go replace all the items, except for the Harrods cup, which I obviously can't buy in Houston. So, did I really save money on this move?

I have no idea where the items "went" - I can only speculate. The smaller items may have walked out with the packing crew, and the larger items may have failed to have been packed (in which case the movers would've had to grab them the next day). All I know is that a full apartment walk-thru after the move showed no trace of anything, and they're not at the new home. One thing I later noticed is there was no item/box count for what went INTO the truck, so I had nothing to check off when the items came OUT of the truck. I'd previously been provided that on other moves.

Such a shame after all these good recommendations, but I've got to warn others to keep a hawk-eye on your crew. Easier said than done when they work in more than one room at the same time.

The moving crew was efficient, but they were a 3-man team and not the 2-man team I'd originally agreed upon. Higher hourly rate. I think they probably were done quicker, but it felt a bit dodgy to have this sprung on me the day-of, as the original crew (that was confused the day before) couldn't make it. On the plus side, they did a decent job wrapping up mirrors and large pieces of furniture so that there was no major damage. Only minor damage on some of the smaller items.

Bottom line: A few too many snafus to call this an easy move. Would think long and hard about rehiring them if I didn't have a better option.

I?d like to express how pleased we were with A-1 Allstate Movers and its employees. The staff and movers worked hard and steady to complete our move as promised in less than one day. The movers were pleasant and agreeable to work with. Not one request was denied, and they were unfazed by every hurdle which arose, which included taking apart our very large, very expensive, french antique bedroom set. Hopefully we will not need the services of a moving company in the near future, but if we do, it will certainly be Allstate Movers. In the meantime, we will happily recommend A-1 Allstate Movers highly to anyone we know who needs a top notch moving company.

This is the second time I've used A1 Allstate and they were seriously awesome again. I wondered if I just lucked out the first time with a good crew, but apparently they're all good. The guys showed up early and even though they were getting paid by the hour, they really hustled. We weren't sure if all of our stuff was going to fit in our POD, but they made it work and didn't waste an inch of space. They're careful and just generally amazing. I would highly recommend them!!

I am writing in regard to our recent move with Allstate Movers. Our movers, Pedro and Joel were truly outstanding! The day of the move was difficult due to horrendous weather and limited access. While unloading at our new home, Pedro and Joel were extremely careful in protecting our new floors, doors, and cabinetry, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, our moving experience was very positive. I am thrilled and completely satisfied with the service provided to us by Allstate Movers.

A-1 Allstate Movers facilitated and conducted an emergency move for our company following Hurricane Ike which involved our entire office being moved from the 8th floor to the 4th floor. This process would normally have been a routine office move, but there was no electricity and no elevator. The manner in which our move was handled was excellent and all staff were professional, hard working, and dedicated. The office staff was in constant communication and made a demanding move seem effortless. We are extremely happy with all moving services A-1 Allstate Movers provided and would have no hesitation in utilizing their services in the future or recommending them to others.

We were very pleased with our whole house move this past month from NW Houston to College Station, TX that was performed by A-1 Allstate Movers. The move was without a hitch, and for the price promised. I called on Wednesday, had a quote by Friday, packed on Monday, loaded on Tuesday, and delivered on Wednesday. How about that for a quick move!

I especially want to thank our coordinator and estimator, Modesty, she was so polite and professional. Rosie and Randy did a great job packing. I have never seen a team that can pack boxes like them. Mike and Daniel, 2 strong and energetic men that really worked hard. We have several very large and heavy items that were carried down stairs. Wow, down the stairs and out the door they went without a scratch anywhere! They set up all the beds, and put the mirrors back on the dressers without even asking.

A-1 Allstate Movers sent a great team who were all professional and polite with great attitudes. I will recommend this company to anyone who needs a fast move, good pricing, and wants their items taken care of with care.

My husband and I contracted A-1 Allstate movers for a 1 bedroom apartment move. We moved from a third story apartment into a house in July. We are extremely picky people and I have to say that this was the fastest, easiest move we've ever had. Our move was scheduled promptly and accurate expectations were set in terms of price and time needed for the move. Jorge and his team were on-time, courteous, professional and took the time to actually listen to our needs. They took extra special care of the items that we pointed out as being super important, and were careful with everything they moved regardless of what it was. I would use this company to move again and I would recommend them to any of my family members if they needed to move.

I called A-1 Allstate on the advice of a coworker. These guys did a fantastic job. Jesus and the young man that he had working with him took great care to wrap and pack every item perfectly. They were on time and professional. (I was told that they would be at my house between 8 and 9.....they were there at 8:30.....perfect) These guys moved my 4 bedroom house into a storage unit. They were able to fill every space while making sure that nothing got damaged......not even a scratch....
The next time I need movers I will be calling A-1 Allstate.....and you should too.
I've had bad experiences with movers in the past and it's good to know that A-1 is a company you can count on.

This was my first time using a mover and I was a little worried based on other people's experience with movers. Luckily, Jesus and his crew were absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them. They carefully wrapped every piece of my furniture. I didn't have one scratch or dent on anything. I moved from a small house to an apartment and they had me completely finished in under three hours. They were courteous and professional and experienced. I will definitely call them again next time and I promise you won't be disappointed! THANK YOU GUYS!

She answered all my questions and concerns and the amount I was quoted over the phone was exactly what I paid. We have never had as bad an experience with a company as we have had with this one. From overcharging us, to multiple damages that they continue to deny, to being 4 hours late, and also just plain rude, we feel compelled to leave a review. After speaking to 3 different people, we still have not had our refund they promised, or repair to my husbands antique phonograph, or our paintings, our our washer and dryer. We say DO NOT USE!!! EVER!

Twice we confirmed our move. On the day they were to show, no one came or called. When we called the office they said they had no record of our move. They suggested that we must have called another moving company even though we knew the name of the contact person and they confirmed that the person worked there, but was having some problems. We were told they could move us the next day. We were unable to do that. We ended up having another company move us for $1600.00 which was $200. more than we were quoted from A-1 Allstate. What a mess, do not use. They do not have it together...

It has been a year since I used A-1 Allstate for my moving service after finding them at the top of Citysearch. This was my first move within Houston so I wasn't sure where to start. I was more than dissatisfied. The moving crew was over 5 hours late to my apartment. They were supposed to arrive between 1 and 3 and arrived after 8 pm. After the moving crew called me to tell me they would be "about half an hour late", I kept calling and they told me that even though I was supposed to be the second job of the day the person in charge of scheduling decided to squeeze someone else in between the first move and mine. I told the guy I was speaking to that that wasn't right and I was dissatisfied. He called me back later and told me that he spoke to the scheduling manager and she told him "just don't move her then." I know with my one bedroom apartment I wasn't a large move for the company, but that is a terrible way to build up customer satisfaction and loyalty. He said he would still move me but wasn't sure what time they would be able to make it since they had to complete the other move first. Since I had to be out of my apartment the next day I really didn't have any choice but to wait on them. While completing my move into my new third floor apartment on a weeknight well past midnight I felt terrible. They were very loud and I felt bad for my new neighbors as they crashed and clanged my belongings up the stairs. When they finally finished and I gave him my check for the move and a tip in cash the guy asked why I couldn't pay the whole thing in cash. I told him that that wasn't what I wanted to do. He acted mad and rude from that point. I guess he wanted to tell the scheduling people that he didn't make the move and pocket the cash for himself. I will NEVER use or recommend this company to anyone. There are better places out there and I know, I just completed a move into a townhome w/ a different moving co and couldn't have asked for a better co

Allstate Movers did an excellent job all around moving our 10,000 sq ft office. Movers were experienced, easy to communicate with, and professional. I recommend anyone using this company for any type of moving service.

Our move basically went all right. Other than being late after loading everything. The movers spent a lot of time complaining to us about the size of or furniture, but they did get everything done in one day. We were pleased and even tipped both of them. Our problem is that after more than 5 weeks we still have not got a credit on our credit card that they charged twice. We have been told several times it will be done, my husband was even told it was already done, yet we still have not received a refund. We have filed complaints with other state agencies, but still wanted to let other City Search members know that we give this company two thumbs down.

These people would not move all of our belongings! They arrived late and then tried to increase our cost by double, which we paid, but then would not move all our stuff because it was not on our original quote. They said this was "OUR FAULT" We told the lady in the office that we would have extra things in our garage and she said that was okay. They did not move all of our boxes and also broke one of our wine racks, but said it was made from cheap materials and it was not their fault that it broke. We are very dissatisfied and will not recommend this company or use them ever again. Customers should not be told it is "their fault" !!!

After reviewing some of these comments from non-existent customers, I want any customer seeking business with our company to know that they can always contact us at 713-952-5077. Contact the BetterBB for references as most of the comments left on this review system are bogus comments made by competitors trashing other moving companies. Please try and contact these customers because you can't. We have GPS on all of our trucks and know where our movers are at all times. Our movers are professional and rarely have phone contact with customers. Addressing the last two bogus comments, the first is obviously been made by a mover instead of a customer. Read it carefully. We have never moved a Rob P Hardin, nor have we had any damages for this non-existent customer as well. These dishonest comments are made because my company is the best moving company in the Houston area and also the busiest. We move over 3500 homes, offices, apts, etc each year. We have contracts with the U.S. Government along with many school districts. Our reputation is exemplary. We have been a BetterBB Gold Star member for the last several years. Yes, there are complications with moving from time to time, but the best thing a customer can do is RESEARCH. Check how long the company has been in business. Check with the BetterBB. Ask for references. Check with their moving affiliations such as the American Moving Association and the Southwest Moving Association. Thank you for taking the time to read my defense to these untrue reveiws and please don't read a lot into them, even with other moving companies on this site, as most of them are more than likely false. Called to say they were late. Never called to say they would not show up. We called the truck driver over and over , but they would not answer phone. The office lady said we should keep trying to call the crew. We did but no answer. The office said they would be here anyway. They never came. No one was there on Sunday. No one ever replied to our email messages on Monday. Bad, bad ,bad cust svc. DO NOT USE!!!

I have never used a moving company before and was extremely nervous to trust someone else with all of my stuff. However, these movers were so, so wonderful. There was not a single piece of furnture scratched, nicked, or any glass broken. I live in a 100 year old house and the staircase has a couple of sharp turns and does not afford a lot of room. Even with that, there was not even a single scratch on my wall. I HIGHLY recommend this company and will use them for every move I have in the future.
