8 months after receiving a defective oven, no resolution reached, no credit to my account, no replacement unit. Here's a bit of a warning - if you have a problem, dispute your credit card charge immediately, if you wait too long you have no way of getting your money back. I was on the phone with my bank and they gave me some hooey company name and phone number to call so the issue seemed like it was resolved... nope, they just gave me the number of another appliance sales place. Crooks!

In June of 2010 I purchased all my appliances for my new home from Mark(owner) of Discount Vacuum. My parents had also purchased their applainces for a new home 5 years earlier. We had spoken highly of them and recommended them to others many times for the low prices on their appliances.
I told Mark I would be picking up my appliances first part of August. I did so and plugged in the frigidaire refrigerator only to realize it did not work. I gave it the full 24 hours and still nothing. I called him back as well as called frigidaire as the warranty was obvioulsy still valid not to mention I had purchased the extended warranty for $200. I then was routed to 3 appliance places in my area that would service my unit. C&G in Bastrop came out on their next available date the following week and said the compressor was frozen up and they had never seen one that didn't work from the beginning. Their suggestion was the fridge was severly flawed and even replacing the compressor would likely only result in further problems. THey recommended contacting dealer where I bought it and asking for a replacemnt. I did so and Mark said he could not replace the unit and even if he could he would never do that. His suggestion was continue with warranty phase. I said, but it NEVER worked. I paid up front for NOTHING. After 10 more days of waiting and no part available I researched and found many, many reports of faulty conmpressors on numerous frigidaire refrigerators. In that C&G was told by Frigidaire that 176 were on backorder and there was no ETA and it could be up to 6 months.Complaints online cited that Frigidaire did not want to honor waranty and not in any case did they ever replace a unit. THey stalled and gave the run around until warranty was up. Most people cut their losses and bought another brand of fridge after repeated failures of compressors and loss of food and money to spoiling. One woman went thru 3 compressors in less than a month. I told Mark this and said I do not want to get caught in this and he said I could find those type of complaints on any item and we couldn't just toss the unit because of this. I told him I researched complaints on 3 other major brands and found nothing more than water filter and ice maker issues. He still refused to replace a unit that never worked. I told him I felt it was irresponsible business practices and that it showed his character and sense of priorities. I said it was obvious his bottom line was money and not customer satisfaction. I told him I contacted BBB and they would mediate for me and he said I should do what makes me feel better. I filed the complaint with BBB today and have researched implied warranty and laws concerning fair trade of which he is not heeding any. I will be prepared to take this to small claims court or anywhere I need to. No one likes to be ripped off and told by the seller that they have no responsibility to make a transaction right. No respect for the customer only his pocketbook. Buyer please be ware that you may save some money with Discount Appliance, but if you have a problem or get a completely faulty unit that never runs, know that they WILL NOT stand behind the products they sell. Go to a Lowes or Home Depot where a store policy is in place for at least 30 days after purchase so you can feel somewhat protected. Buy at your own risk from Discount Vacuum and Appliance, but I will never buy from them again.

I bought my stove top from Discount Vacuum when we updated our appliances. They had great selection and prices. Lately, I have found them to have the best prices for my Kenmore appliance part needs. Far better than ordering from Sears which has to be done on line and shipped to you. The great people at Discount Vacuum are pleasant, helpful, and get your orders usually the next day if it is not in stock. So much better than waiting for a UPS delivery. Check out both their locations--you won't regret it.
