I recently received the Signature massage. It was absolutely wonderful! It included aromatherapy and heated towels at the end of the massage. The therapist was very nice and worked on the sore areas I was having trouble with. \r
Guests do have access to the pool and sauna. Just ask the attendant to let you up. I will be returning soon!\r
I came in for a massage on a Sunday, because I was able to get an appointment at the last minute. I thought the massage was mediocre. It was not the worst I have had, but far from the best. Spa guests no longer have access to the 24th floor pool and jacuzzi. I was dissapointed not to be able to use the pool area. There is a small, but nice steam room in the locker room. There was only one other person using it when I was there so it was nice, but three would be crowded. The sauna was larger, but was not very hot. One of the main reasons that I chose Skyline spa was for the added ammeneties of the pool and sauna. Overall I was kind of disssapointed, but the steam room was nice and the view of downtown Houston is excellent.
My husband and I chose to stay at the Hilton Americas the weekend that we renewed our wedding vows because we knew it would be a great experience. We both had massages at the spa and thoroughly enjoyed them. I also had booked a hair appointment to get my hair styled for our vow renewal ceremony. First of all, the stylist, Pat, was 20 minutes late to my appointment. I showed her several pictures of what I wanted (a very simple long and curly style) and she said okay. When she went to shampoo my hair, there was still hair from the previous appointment in the wash basin. As she styled my hair, I was unable to see what she was doing since she had me facing away from the mirror. When she was finished, my hair looked NOTHING like what I had showed her. It was limp and lifeless with very little curl. I left without saying much to her since I was now running late to get to my ceremony. As I checked out at the front desk, I expressed my displeasure and was given a discount after they offered to redo it (I told them I did not have time and was now running late because of the stylist's tardiness). When I got back to our room, my husband commented that our 7-year-old niece could have done a better job. I had to re-wash my hair and style it myself. I chose to get my hair done at the hotel's salon because it was convenient and the hairstyle I wanted was simple. I expected to get a competent stylist since this is the 4-star Hilton. I was highly disappointed and very angry at the results I got. While the massage was enjoyable, DO NOT let Pat touch your hair. She does not know what she is doing even for a simple style.
Pros: Massage
Cons: BAD HAIR STYLE
My experience at the Skyline Spa was absolutely wonderful! I left feeling extremely pampered and relax! The spa director, Simone, was very helpful when I requested for something extra. I got the Ultimate Journey package and waxing done at the spa. The package included a facial, body polish, a hot stone massage, and mani and pedi. If you can only get one service done at the spa, I would highly recommend the hot stone massage! It was so relaxing that I feel asleep at the end of it. Edna, my therapist had ?magic hands?.\r
The body polish left my body feeling super smooth! It was a good way to get rid of all the rough patches of skin on my knees and elbows. I will definitely get it done again before I use a spray-on tanner for my legs. \r
Though my mani and pedi were basic, I was really impressed by the room it was done in. The room had floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views of the city. It was just as impressive as the view from 24th floor Skyline. The facility was also very clean and organized, unlike some nail saloons I have gone to in the past. \r
Overall, everyone was very nice and helpful at the spa. I recently returned to get a Swedish massage by Edna. It was just as excellent as the last time I was there. I highly recommend this place!
I plan a spa day for my sisters, mother and I. Booking the appointment took about a day because the women booking kept making mistakes.(like booking pedicures with a masseuse and allowing me to cancel one of my sisters appoint 3 1/2 hrs before the appointment then coming into the locker room after our massage and telling me that the girl who let me cancel didnt have that authority so I would have to pay even though I had booked 5 appointments with them that day) I booked pedicures two at a time and the lady said that everyone would be able to hangout in that room together and have wine. None of that happened. I asked about the wine and I was told that I could order from room service...What good day spa doesnt have complimentary wine? My sister and mother also had to sit out in the waiting room while I got my pedicure. The woman doing my pedicure was talking to the other woman about how she was suppose to be at her kid birthday party but was missing it to do a pedicure....our pedicure. The pedicure was okay but all the polish was old and thick. I had to redo the polish the next day. Don't wasted your time going here unless your are staying at the Hilton. Terrible! The worst day spa I have ever been to!
When I visit Houston and I get a chance, I like to visit the Skyline....friendly staff, professional and effective.....outstanding view with a very accomodating staff. Love the facials, massage and pedicure. It is the best kept secret in downtown Houston.
Traditional massages have always been my spa treatment of choice until I decided to try a facial. Not only did the facial make my skin glow the therapist did a shoulder and neck massage too. I found the facial to be more relaxing than the massages I normally do at other salons. I would highly recommend Skyline Spa. It's very serene and clean.
Pros: free parking, great view, professional techs
My husband surprised me with a wonderful spa day experience. We started with a stone massage that soothed every muscle in my body. I truly loved this massage, it was my first time to have it and my therapist made it very special. I do wish it could've been longer but unfortunately they weren't able to accomodate anything at the time I requested. Then she took me to have a body polish, I don't think I've ever felt that soft. My husband was on the right track. My facial was next, I've had many facials but, with their awaken facial my skin looked incredible and my therapist had magic hands. My day ended high in the sky with a great manicure and pedicure. My husband has scored Big brownie points with this present, I told him I can't wait till Christmas, I should be easy to shop for now.
Pros: Parking validation
Cons: Lots of people
I won a gift certificate to Skyline Spa from 95.7 The Wave during an on-air contest this past December. I just used the certificate to do the rose wrap since I've never had one. It was awesome!! I was very impressed with the therapist too. She was really professional. The spa is kind of small but nice. Getting to use the steam room and dry sauna was an added surprise. It was so quiet that I got to have both to myself. I didn't even know the Hilton downtown had a spa in it but I'll go back. The prices are comperable to other day spas I've visited.
Pros: Quiet, Free parking, Good treatments
When looking through the catagories to rate this fantastic spa, a few great memories came to mind. To start off, the clenliness/atmostphere was so soothing and made it SO relaxing to be pampered. The whole staff met every single need that I had, and ones that didn't come to mind. From the receptionist's niceness, the stylist's immaculate skills used on me, all the way to the director, who made sure that every guest in the spa was on the top of her list. Yes, HILTON'S Skyline Spa & Health Club over-ranks idependently owned spas. They will be refered by me to everyone I know.
Pros: product selection, cutomer service, skilled employees
Cons: , cannot smoke in spa, no freebies
