If you want to keep a good relationship with your neighbors, do not use their services. My neighbor is building a swimming pool and their workers drove heavy machines over my sidewalk and front yard ignoring our property line. I called the project manager Chris Houk. He apologized and promised to fix the problems. After that, I left a couple messages to him and have not got any response.
I called their company and the lady was cold and showed indifference in this matter.
If they cannot fix such simple problems, how can you trust them to build your pools or honor their warranty?
-------------------------------------
Finally caught Chris by phone, he claimed the owner Neal was going to fix my problems and would call me back. It has been two days... Wish I can post a picture here to show the damage.

highly recommended. This was not an easy project. Texas pools and patio built the pool, BBQ area and dining area on the side of a cliff and had to cut the rock out by hand. Access was very restricted and close to neighbors. And to top it all I was out of town for most of the project. The result was outstanding and beyond expectations. I made some minor changes and all were incorporated with minimal costs. The neighbors were also happy. The quality of the workmanship, particularly the stone mason, was impressive. I would recommend them to my friends.

I am writing to say that our experience with Texas Pools and Patios has been outstanding. Our Pool is magnificent! From the first visit to the end of construction, through "Pool School" to weekly maintenance we love these guys.
The pool and the project went along just as advertised, we made a few "minor" changes mid project and those changes were accomodated with a smile. The end result is absolutely amazing. I must admit the city made these guys jump through hoops and again they came through with our backyard paradise. Thank you Texas Pools and Patios!

We built our pool with Texas Pools and Patios a little over a year ago. Our experience with them overall was pretty good. We built during the May/June time frame which is NOT the best time to build. However, as busy as they were they started when they said they would start and finished when they said they would finish (6 weeks later). Not bad for it being their "busy" season.

Everyone from the Salesman (Chris), to the Foreman (Robert) and down to the crews that laid the stone, concrete, patio etc. were top-notch and professional. We loved the finished product! Our family swam in it all last summer and have said over and over we are happy with what we built.

My only suggestion for the company would be to keep appointments, callbacks etc. like any other professional you should call people back and be on time. The "owner" shook our hand the day of our loan closing and we never saw him again. I don't think he even came by the house to see the finished pool. When we had questions about pool maintenance or an issue with the pool heater and filter it took several days or even weeks to get someone out to look at it. So, we felt a little abandoned once the pool was done.

Other than recommending a "closed loop" process in their construction phase and some good customer service "post build" I don't have anything negative to say and I would recommend them to my friends.

Buyer beware. Lies, lies and more lies. We have been lied to by everyone from the sales guy, to the foreman, all the way to the owner. Several of my neighbors have had pools built by other pool companies and NONE of the have had the issues we have had. 6 months after the pool was finished we are still having problems. If you google Texas Pools and Patios you will see they used to have good reviews. However, all of the newer reviews are negative. I now know why! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will screw you over and they will lie to you while doing so.

Had to contact the Better Business Bureau about our latest issue since they kept lying to us. They have failed to even respond to the BBB about it. The salesman used their BBB rating as a reason to buy from them, yet they wont respond when there is an issue. Real classy.

I cannot say enough bad things about this company and the people that run it. I am sure if you read the online reviews, you will pass on using them. We would have been better off going to Wal-Mart and buying a $10 kiddie pool instead of a $50K nightmare for Texas Pools and Patios.

Hello, I normal do not write reviews, but I had such a good experience with Texas Pools & Patios I wanted to thanks them. Texas Pools & Patios has a great design staff, and building crew. They came out to my house, and gave me some great ideas on the pools design, and my wife loved them, and I did too. Texas Pool & Patios was very professional and just down to earth about what needed to be done, so no surprise in the building of the pool. It was done on time, and budget. My neighbors and friend love coming over and swimming, and BBQ. Thanks again for a quality pool...Jeff

Recently started construction on an inground pool and spa in the backyard. My wife and I have been saving and were excited about our new oasis...

I got 4 estimates from "reputable" companies. The 5th estimate was supposed to be from Texas Pool and Patio. I sent 5 emails out on day 1 to set up appointments for each of the 5 companies/estimates. All but Texas Pool and Patio returned my email within 24 hours. It took about 72 hours to hear from Texas Pools and Patios. The gentleman who met me at my house introduced himself as "Jim, the owner of the company". He was very nice and seemed to know what he was talking about. He told me he would call me and email me his proposal. Week one...nothing....week 2 got a call saying he was sorry for delay and that he would email me a proposal that night. It never came. I even texted him my email and phone number again (in case he lost it the first time). That's what I get for calling a pool company that has ads in every throw away coupon book in town.

Bottom line: horrible experience and would stick with other builder in the area (more reputable). Its possible that they just don't have the staff to provide good customer service (or service at all) In any event, too little too late. Our pool is almost complete and we will be enjoying our Oasis soon.

Met with one of their salesmen 3 times and went over what I wanted. First meeting was to see where what and when. Second meeting was to present his design and cost. In this meeting we went over several things he had not included and fixed the sizing of the pool. The third meeting was to ensure that all the i's were dotted and the t's were crossed. We went over the size and cost and based on this amount, I went ahead and started a refinance on our home. When we closed on the loan, I called and wanted to get the ball rolling, only to be told that the price was wrong and the size had to be smaller. After several attempts to contact said salesman, I phoned his boss and was told that the salesmen could not give a price and that it needed to be approved by the owners/bosses. I informed him that if that was the protocol, then where did I get my price from????. I was furious, as this is the amount I loaned and it was all based on the price given. Moral of the story.....before accepting a price for your pool and acting on it, make sure you have it in writing. I still have not heard back from both the salesman and owner who were supposed to get back to me. I would not recommend this outfit based on my experience.

Recently had pool built with Texas Pools and Patios and we are very excited about the finished project. We had four different contractors submit bids and felt the most comfortable with Texas Pools because they took the time to show us some completed projects and our Designer (Steve) really listened to what we wanted. Our pool was completed in less than 5 weeks and we have been enjoying our hot tub this winter. We highly recommend Texas Pools and Patios if you are looking for a quality pool builder in San Antonio.

not much to report here since they never showed up for our free estimate. I rushed home from work for our 2:00 appointment. It's now 3:48 and I haven't heard from anyone.

My family and I would like to express our heartfelt thanks on designing and constructing a pool and an outdoor kitchen/patio of our dreams in a painless, efficient manner. Throughout all the phases of the project from the day we signed the contract to the day we turned the pool on, we were very impressed by the honesty, integrity and the customer focus of your employees and the quality of work done by your subcontractors.

We went through proposals from five reputable companies for our project and what made us go with you is the warm and fuzzy feeling we got when we spoke to your son, Jeff Crites, who never tried to sell us a pool, but instead spent all the time in gathering our requirements and focusing on designing to meet them. Even though you were not the least expensive proposal, we were very impressed by the thought and experience that had gone into the design. So signing the contract with you was a mere formality.

Buzzy Barker who supervised our project was an epitome of customer advocacy. He was very responsive, sharp, open to suggestions and constantly vigilant for things that would need extra attention to prevent problems later on. He was there on site 3-4 times a week and kept in touch on a daily basis. If there was a question or a concern he would jump on it right away to get it answered or resolved. He even got the company rep to come and train us on the state of the art equipment that we had used in the pool.

Your subs, Matteo, Margerito, Mariano, Alfredo, and Mike Trump were courteous, efficient and outstanding, all working together creating a beautiful work of art.

In a nutshell Andy, we are very happy that we decided to build a pool and outdoor kitchen/patio with you, and we heartily recommend you and your company to anyone who is in the market for a quality pool and/or patio.

We moved into a new home recently and decided we wanted to expand our outdoor stone patio for more entertainment space so we called around for companies to give us a quote.

Andy came by and we discussed what we had in mind and after Andy listened to our thoughts, he made very good recommendations as to our current set up versus our original thoughts and we decided that his suggestions made more sense.

Once we got Andy's quote, we agreed to proceed with Texas Pools & Patios to do the work.

Not only did they accomplish the work on time, but everyday of the construction there was a supervisor here at least twice a day to be sure all was being done and done right.

The extended patio is now complete, looks great and most importantly, they matched the stone we had along with the layout so it will be hard to tell that this is an addition.

We would highly recommend Texas Pools & Patios to anyone who wants their work done right and on time.

We chose Texas Pools and Patios to build our pool based on the referral of a family friend and researching other companies. The pool is a small, 30x14, freeform pool with no waterfalls, slides etc. We are pleased with the way it looks and enjoy it every day. It is also easy to maintain.

Our superintendent, Robert, was helpful and kept progress going. They started digging on June 9, 2008 and we had water in it on June 30. We really appreciate the timely fashion that the pool was done. The customer service from the owner, Jeff Crites, was very professional and got things taken care of that had been previously left undone. Kevin, our pool maintenance tech, is also professional and easy to work with. He shows up when he says he will and thoroughly explained the maintenance of our new pool.

Our problem was with our salesman, John Franks. He called the day the pool was being filled. I told him we appreciated how fast it was done, but had a few minor concerns. I addressed them with John who replied, "You realize that we finished your pool in less than a month. You have nothing to be disappointed about." Then he hung up on me! I felt I was being scolded for asking questions! Not to mention he was rude.

I will say that I called Jeff Crites about how the salesman talked to me on the phone. Jeff assured me that he would look into the situation, and reprimand Mr. Franks for the way he spoke to me. As a result, the minor details for completing our project were done within a week of talking to Jeff.

We would recommend this pool company. We feel that the people who actually construct and maintain the pool, as well as the owner, are competent and professional. Just beware of rude salesmen.

Pros: Work done fast

Cons: Beware of rude salesman
