Dr Braunstein is the most friendly, capable doctor that I have ever seen. She spends tons of time with me and makes me feel very comfortable. The whole staff is great. The last reviewer that wrote obviously has her own issues that are being treated with meds from another kind of doctor.

My husband and I decided to see Dr. Jane Braunstein for our 2nd pregnancy only because it was an all women's clinic. I tried to stick around but by my 37th week i felt sooo uncomfortable that i had to transfer to another dr.(My previous ob which is a great lady..Dr. Anita Sandhu) My experience with Braunstein..where to start. Ok, she is rude to say the least, she does her visits for only 2 min, she does not check your dilation, she dismisses any concerns, and makes you feel stupid when you do have a question. I had to leave because i felt that she does not care about her patients and i honestly feared that she would not deliver my baby without her making me have complications. oh one more thing.. she did not like that i was on anti depressants and was always in a hurry. Please seek another ob gyn!! I dont even know why she is still in practice and should end her career if she is this miserable with her life and does not care about her patients.

Worst doctor I have ever been to. I scheduled an ob visit with her and this being my 4th child I knew what to expect. She came in for a total of 2 min. and didn't give me a physical exam what so ever. No pelvic exam, pap, breast exam, STD screening, urine screening, nothing. Mind you I haven't been to a gyno in about 2 years. She didn't care to get my files from my previous OBGYN. I have been diagnosed with hypertension and stopped taking my medication and she completely dismissed the idea I even had hypertension! The nurse that took my bp said it was 102/60 and I just couldn't believe it so I asked the doctor to check it again and she had another nurse check it instead of doing it herself. The next time it was 130/80? Big difference to me and still probably wrong. She didn't ask me to keep a log or asked who my doctor was that diagnosed me. She didn't care to know what medication I was taking for it and when I told her it was a drug that worked as an anti anxiety also she told me she never heard of that like I was stupid. Mind you both parents and sister have hypertension so it does run in the family. I had told the nurse before the doctor came in that I wanted to discuss taking an anti depressant and the doctor did not even bring it up! So the doctor has a depressed pregnant woman in her office and doesn't mention it? Makes me wonder if she even looked at my chart! I work overnights and when I brought up the fact that I'm exhausted even more so because of these hours I work it was completely dismissed! I understand pregnant women can work and we're going to be more tired but what about my heart palpitations or that feeling like my heart is fluttering in my throat because I'm that tired? How can she think that's okay? I didn't even know the appointment was over! She just walked out of the room without saying goodbye or anything. The nurse walked in and I said "Is that it?" and the nurse said "Was there anything else?". The doctor left in such a way that I didn't even know it was over! The doctor didn't even tell me what my due date was! How does any pregnant woman leave her OB without knowing her due date. I guess that's what the internet is for? I felt very rushed. I had been looking forward to my first OB appointment and we spent 2min. dismissing my hypertension and exhaustion from work. I can't understand how she has any patients and if anybody thinks she's any good then I want to know why I was treated the way I was. My appointment could of been done over the phone!

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Braunstein. My visit with her was my first time to see an OB/GYN, and I came in to talk to her about birth control options as I was considering going on the pill. She was polite and answered all of the questions I had for her, but she didn't ask me hardly any questions or take the time to make sure I knew what my options were. I told her that my main concern was that I was afraid of getting bad mood swings, so she asked if I'd heard of Nuvaring. I told her I'd heard of it, but I had also heard it was quite expensive (but also assured her that cost was not my primary concern).

Without offering any other options, she said, "Ok, well I'll give you 3 months trial of Loestrin, which is one of the less expensive options." Nuvaring and Loestrin were the only two options she ever mentioned, and she never tried to explain benefits of one over the other or mentioned any other options. I'm sure it would have helped if I'd asked more questions, but I was a little overwhelmed since it was my first visit (which I told her) and wasn't sure what kinds of questions I needed to be asking. Since I knew NOTHING about the pill she gave me, I went home and looked up reviews on Loestrin (probably a bad idea, but I had no other info on it!). After reading about all of the side effects, I immediately freaked myself out and did not want to take it. I'm sure the medication would have been fine, but if she had been more thorough and described ANY possible symptoms (she simply said to come back in 3 months to see how I liked it), I probably would have felt comfortable enough to start taking the pill.

Overall, the office and location of the OB/GYN Group of Austin was nice enough, and Dr. Braunstein wasn't mean, but I felt like her main priority was rushing through my appointment. She didn't take the time to thoroughly explain anything or present me with any alternative options when I expressed concern about her first suggestion. Even if I have to wait in the waiting room a little longer, I will be looking for a different doctor that takes the time to be thorough with his/her patients, makes sure I am educated about my options, and thoroughly describes the medication that he/she has prescribed.

She is very cold and doesn't seem to want to be there. When I ask her questions she makes me feel like they're dumb questions and she is very sarcastic when answering the questions. In one of my visits i asked her what I could take for allergies that wouldn't hurt the baby and she just looked and me and said, "read the book we gave you" in a very ugly tone. She really doesn't look like she's happy and she shows it into her work. If you have to pick a doctor or a nurse from the OBGYN group of austin pick Lynne Berdofe (she is a nurse practitioner) but she is great!!!!

I have seen Dr Braunstein over the past 5 years, and I definitely want her to deliver my next child. Her "exams" are the least painful, and she seems very concerned about you and the baby when you are pregnant.
I never got her as rude, but the only instance I saw her not being "sweet" was one time with one of my nurses during my delivery. I wouldn't say rude, but definitely cut to the chase.

She is not rude...never has been with me. So I don't know what to say to those women who feel otherwise...except..you can't please everybody. Also, I can say I have had my share of exams, and it always surprises me that I feel little to no pain during those "annuals" and such. I would keep going to her just for that reason alone.

I have always experienced Dr. Braunstein to be totally down to earth, loving, caring and very knowledgable. She is very gentle and very friendly. She took time with me while I was upset about something that is totally unrelated to OB/GYN and she made sure I was OK before I left. She answered all my questions regarding my exam and is very caring about my general health. She delivered my second baby and the delivery was fantastic! I've only known her to be really late one time when she had an emergency c-section and that is not bad for the amount of times that I had to go whilst I was pregnant! When she moved from North Travis OB/GYN I followed her downtown to The OB/Gyn Group of Austin. I hope I will always see her for my annual exam because I totally trust her.

I have used Dr. Braunstein for both of my children, and I would use her again! I will say she does come across sometimes not very caring but she most definitely is! I am sorry for those who think she is rude, because she is far from it! If you want to make sure you and your baby are born health i would definitely choose Dr. Braunstein. I have recommended her every-time someone has asked for my opinion an OB GYN! She really saved my life as well as my first child's life. If you are in need of a OB doc go see her, she is the best!!!

I have seen Dr. Braunstein several times over the past nine years and she has always been courteous and answered my questions honestly and intelligently. I do remember one very long wait but that was when another doctor did not make it to work and Dr. Braunstein was covering both schedules. Can you honestly say you've gotten in to all your other doctor and dental appointments on time? I can't! Please go and meet Dr. Braunstein for yourself.

I don't know who the other people saw, but I have never experienced Dr. Braunstein like that. She delivered my first baby. So I saw her at least monthly for 9 months. She was very concerned with how you are, and always answered my questions completely. She basically saved my baby's life by doing an early c-section. She is a great doctor and I will go back to her for any more children I have.

I have had 3 separate appointments with this doctor. Each time, she's rude - and acts like the questions I ask her are annyoying for her to answer. Then her answers are "Well, I don't know why you're epxeriencing that..." When I tell her she's hurting me - she gasps like I'm an idiot !

That's the worst -- add on the stupid long waits, the rude staff and I wonder how she's managing to hang onto patients. This woman needs to be reprimanded for her behaviour.

She's got a LOUSY manner -- do NOT go to her.

Dr. Braunstein was impersonable, rough, and in a hurry. The annual exam REALLY hurt, mostly because she was hurried and completely oblivious to the fact that there was a person attached to the vagina she was digging in. When I gasped in pain she did not even stop to ask if things were ok. After I left I felt violated. Avoid at all costs. . !!
