.

I recently moved out of Palisades Park after a six month stay there. There are no consequences for ANY infringement and a total lack of management.
The police were called several times, almost daily, for some ?unresolved domestic disturbance.? When I reported my concerns to management about these disturbances, I was rudely asked, ?What is it now?? (I had complained once before because my neighbor?s girlfriend shattered his front window during one of her many temper tantrums) I had a report from Universal City Police Department showing eight violations in six months for my neighbor alone; surely that?s grounds for eviction, not in Palisades Park. I strongly suggest that you call Universal City Police and ask them for an incident report. The information will be provided to you for only the cost of the paper it is printed on.
Management is constantly ?under construction.? When I turned in my thirty-day notice, I was asked to sign paperwork that should?ve been signed at move-in ? complete chaos.
Management double-billed my water. I provided a copy of the stamped check and a check for the balance actually due. I was crudely blown off multiple times and I was never told that the matter was resolved. However, I was told (~two weeks later) that the balance (the one I proved I didn?t actually owe) would be added to my move-out costs. This woman hadn?t even seen the apartment, but was haughty enough to assume she was going to charge me to move out. These people lack business ethics and common courtesy - Do your homework on this property and its management!!! If you choose to stay there, cover your bases ? keep copies of EVERYTHING!
I finally ended up calling Shelter Corp Offices in Minnesota and talking to the director of operations. I was then passed off several more times. Once again, rather than actually work, the company wrote me a charge off. After that, it took me another two weeks to recieve documentation that I had moved out with a zero balance and no violations.

Pros: Interstate access; Universal City Police Department response time

Cons: management; occupants; filthy apartment, pool, laundry; break-ins; did I say management?
