On September 8, 2010 at approx 2:10 am our bedroom, walk-in closet and bathroom were FLOODED by water running off from a rain storm. Between 15-20 units were flooded at our complex. I immediately called the answering service, and left a message. James, the head maintenance man, showed up around 8:30am, and said "I heard you had a leak". We said, "more like a flood". As my boyfriend showed James the damage, James's mouth fell open. He immediately went to the office, to inform the manager Maggie, of our situation. He returned to say that the carpet person would be there shortly. When the carpet people showed up, he pulled back the carpet in the bedroom and started cutting away the padding, that's when we noticed the 2 in water line that encompassed our bedroom as well as the walk in closet. Once the padding was removed, we also noticed the between the floor and the baseboard, we were able to stick our finger down into mud and grass. I went outside and flagged down another maintenance person to show him the gap between the floor and the baseboard. His response was, "I need to go get James". James never showed up. After a couple of hours, my boyfriend called the office and spoke to Arlene. He explained the situation with the mud and was told by Arlene, that she would come and look at the apartment. She never showed up to see the damage to our apartment. The following day, I called the office for an update and was told by Arlene, that she would have James look at our apartment. Shortly thereafter, she left a voice mail, stating that she would move us to an upstairs unit. When I got off of work, I called Arlene back and was told by her that the upstairs unit would be available by Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the latest. I expressed to her at that point, that my boyfriend and I have two young children, one a baby and the other a six yr old, who is highly allergic to mold and has asthma. I told her that it was imperative that we be moved asap. Arlene told me that our apartment was one of the worst ones damaged by the flood. After not receiving any kind of communication from the management at Perrin Crest Apartments, I again called and spoke with Arlene on the 13th of September. Again, I ask for an update on our situation. I was then informed, that the new apartment would not be ready on Tuesday as promised. It was going to take a couple of more days. Arlene assured me that the communication lines between us would be kept open. On September 17, after receiving no phone calls from management about when we could move out of our moldy, mildewed, flood damaged apartment, I called the property manager Maggie and voiced all of my concerns and disappointments, with the lack of care, concern or communication from management about my situation. During this conversation with Maggie, she ask me if we were still going to move into the upstairs unit? I replied, I don't know, you tell me, because no one in your office has told me ANYTHING. Maggie took my call back number, and assured me that she would call me back within 30 minutes with some answers or a resolution. It is 9:00 pm and I am still waiting for that phone call almost 12 hours have elapsed. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!

I have had many problems since living here but the new management is making an effort to change the property around.

I understand criteria must be met upon qualification of applicants. I have a felony charge on my record with no prior or present activity. I have referances from political authorities and a full explanation of events. Not everyone can afford a high priced attorney. This was brought to the attention of apartment personnel. I paid $50.00 for credit check all the while knowing of history. After taking my $50.00 I was denied qualification. Upon further research I have found that a child offender lives in another apartment managed by the same person. I dont understand ???? My charges are unrelated to living conditions. I will note that I spoke with a SAPD Officer who informed me that out of the few apts Perrin Crest has the most calls.

Pros: northern hills elementary

Cons: denial

My family and I currently live here and we would not recommend this place to anyone- even our enemies. Do not get fooled by the "under new ownership" tactic they used with us. Loud music, loud neighbors outside all night, paper thin walls, security fence always broken. We have called the police and the office numerous times with no help. Please avoid this place if possible.

Pros: Apartment is roomy.

Cons: Not enough space for me to type everything in. Let's just say..get ready to call police.
