My husband heard their advertisement about free toilet flappers so I called. Woody came out to replace it and helped with another problem we were having. Of course I was just waiting for him to sell me something but he didn't. I would definitely call them if we have any plumbing issues!

My hot water heater sprung a gushing leak and I called Radiant Plumbing out to fix it. Turns out my hot water heater was 22 years old and in need of a replacement. I went ahead with the replacement and they got it done right there in the same day! The guys were all very professional and friendly, and answered all my questions about the install. I enjoyed them so much, I had them replace my toilet while they were there as well. Hot showers and happy flushes in this house! I really could not be more pleased with their service.

Kitchen faucets!!! I knew what I needed and they still have to come for an estimate?? Since I had no idea they were going to give me a really high estimate I said ok. Guy came and I said -what???!!!- $600 ish for what??? oh that's including the service agreement, if you don't want the service agreement then it will be $460. Oh what a difference, really?? So I asked how long is it going to take you, he said 1 1/2 hr. Who makes $460 in 1 1/2 hrs???? Go figure!!! too bad there's no option for zero stars!

I recently bought a new home and needed a lot of plumbing work. Still do. I called several plumbing companies and I had a local company come out initially and felt I was taken for a ride. I got charged a lot for things I felt should have been really inexpensive. Finally I called Radiant Plumbing because I was able to see who would be coming into my home, on thier website they show their staff. This was important to me. I called on a Tuesday evening late, I had a leak from the water softner. They came to my home that very next morning. I was impressed. Initially I did not have them do the work, but had them return to do the work. Both times, they sent Woody, I requested he come the next time to do the actual work. Radiant did a lot of juggling to ensure Woody could meet my schedule. He was professional, coutesy and I felt very comfortable with him in the house. He was fair on the pricing, explained and walked through the issues with me. I will definitely call Radiant Plumbing again and will always request Woody. In fact I have told co-workers about Radiant Plumbing. They are nice folks to work with and always call to follow up and send thank you cards. This is very rare anymore. Thank you.

I received a bid from another plumber for over $3000. The other plumber told me that, in order to fix my problem, I needed to replace all of my 1940 vintage pipes. Based on CItysearch reviews, I called Radiant. Steven told me that , in his opinion, replacing certain pipes would remedy the problem. He was right. It works fantastic and he saved me over $2500. I would not use anyone else!

I'm pretty mad at them right now. I had my water pressure regulator go out on Wednesday so I call them on Thursday morning to tell them that my water pressure regulator went out and I have no water pressure and the faucet just dribbles. They say they??ll be out Friday morning, then cancel because the plumber had a family emergency and reschedule for Monday morning. Monday, he gets out there and tells me that it will cost $439 to replace! Says that it will cost so much because the part is so expensive! I pay him $39 for the visit and get the part I need today from Home Depot for $29?. I can??t help but wonder if he made me squirm all weekend with no water for laundry, dishes, ect. just so I??d be more likely to accept that ridiculous price.

Had an issue with my hot water heater (needed to be replaced) and with my home warranty company not being able to find someone to go into my attic. No problem for Radiant. Andrew worked with me by quickly diagnosing the problem, providing some options to replace AND speaking with my home warranty company to ensure the repairs were fully covered. That's great service!

I had a very bad experience with Radiant's plumber Jason (see below) but Brad, the owner really worked with me to get it solved and gave me half my money back for all of my trouble. but it was still two months of drama, I wish hadn't happened. They moved the water heater to the opposite side of the house (where it should have been in the first place) And there will forever be a silicone rectangle on the other side of the house...because I have a historic home that they dont make the same shingles for anymore... : (
***if you want a tankless you might want to check out 'Austin Texas Water Heaters'. They are actually the ones who figured out the correct spot for my tankless. And they seem to charge less.
ORIGINAL POST:
In a nutshell I was just charged $5800 to install a Rinaii tankless water heater and when I got it professionally inspected by a TX inspector ( at my own expense) I learned it had 2 code violations, one of them being very major and I have no idea how they are going to solve it... I'm upset with myself for not doing much research and being trusting, but Radiant seems to charge 2X the amount other companies charge...and that money doesnt go to better service/plumbing knowledge...it goes to their advertising campaigns. Jason really didnt seem to know much about the water heater. I am really kicking myself for not getting other estimates. DONT trust their friendly appearances, these master plumbers are just sales people with some plumbing skills. Your job will actually be done by someone else.

I called Radiant right after Christmas due to a leaking kitchen faucet issue. After the plumber arrived and told us we needed a new faucet, I asked him to give us a bid to cover a number of plumbing problems (replace the kitchen faucet, clean out two master bathroom faucets that weren't flowing properly, and fix a leaking tub faucet stem). Bid seemed a little high but not out of the question for 4 different projects, so we agreed that he would come back in a few weeks to do the work. (We had to special order the new kitchen faucet, which took several weeks to receive from Costco). When we scheduled an appointment to finally get the work done in January, Radiant sends out a different plumber. This plumber replaces the kitchen faucet in about an hour. But with regard to other jobs, he tells us the leaking tub faucet doesn't need fixing. Also he is only able to unplug one of the master bathroom faucets that wasn't flowing properly, and says he can't fix the other one because it is too stuck. Fair enough I guess. But then I ask him how much less the bill is going to be since he had only completed half the jobs we had discussed. His answer was to reduce the total bill by only a small amount. He claims the shower faucet job he didn't do represented only a minimal portion of the entire bill and that unplugging the master bathroom faucets was a "freebie" for us in their bid. I argued with him but because I never got an itemized bid from them before they started the job, I didn't have much room to argue. That was my mistake and I paid for it. Nevertheless, I won't be using them again. If you do, I strongly recommend that you get a fully itemized bid from them before you authorize them to do any work.

Our house is more than 30 years old and the plumbing is beginning to show it.

We have called on Jason Zuhn at Radiant Plumbing several times and each time he has been professional, reliable and fast.

Most recently, I called Radiant at 6 a.m. about a leak that had gotten out of hand. Jason was there the same morning, told me what the problem was and came back the next morning to install a new faucet while I was at work (because I wanted to buy the replacement faucet myself, I asked whether he could do it the next day).

It's good to deal with someone you can trust who does good work.

This is the third time we've used Radiant and been REALLY happy every time. The phone call an hour ahead helps us plan. They are reliable and tidy. Jason Zuhn seems to be our own personal plumber! Proficient, polite and friendly! First time, checked what we thought was a leak at the base of the toilet. He and his partner took the time to explore, then explained exactly what was happening -- no real issues and only charged us a service call. Second time, Jason installed new bathroom faucets (3), tub set and shower head. When we ran into a fixture issue, Jason explained it and helped us find a solution. The charge was REALLY reasonable, they cleaned up entirely afterward, warranteed their work, and were super-polite/friendly. This last time, we noticed a leak in the tub set, so he popped out, explained what was happening, fixed it in no time and didn't charge us a dime. Great work, Jason! Hope we don't have to call you again; but if we do, we know we can get good work done!

I live in SW Austin, noticed puddles of water it late in the evening, spent the night cleaning up, looking for the source, and researching plumbers. Called Radient in the morning and they were able to get us a morning appointment. Jason gave us call ahead of time to say he'd be over in 45 min. He looked at the problem, explained the situation very clearly, and gave me a reasonable estimate. 1 hours later everything was fixed perfectly. Jason even stuck around to double check the meter to satisfy my concerns about other leaks.

Very happy with the service and would recommend Jason @ Radient.

Our business had an issue with a drinking fountain problem, and called Radiant Plumbing on the recommendation of several friends. One of their guys came out within a couple of hours even though it really wasn't an emergency. He diagnosed the problem pretty quickly - and even though it turned out not to be a plumbing issue, we had him clean out all the lines while he was there. We were impressed with the plumber's promptness, courtesy, expertise, and well, how nicely dressed he was. That's not been our experience with plumbers in the past. And they have cool vans. We will definitely call this company again.

I contact RP for a toilet and valve replacement. They were prompt in arrival and worked up a price list of different options. I chose the cheapest options which was still 1100+. I hadn't done my research on toilets so I assumed that their price was fair considering how many positive reviews they had. The work was completed fine without issue.

The issues started after I began some additional research. After looking at some toilets, I think I found the one they installed and it was listed at 250. If that was the case, i had just paid 850 in labor. I call RP to get the model number of the toilet at least 4 times so I could see if the price at the store was off or they just jacked up the price on materials and labor. As of now (Dec. 22) they have not returned my call. The last statement they made was they didn't know if there was a model number!!.

Let this be a lesson to get multiple bids for any work. I also asked them to itemize the work so I could see if the labor or materials were overpriced and they did not respond.

I should have paid the 40 service fee and sent them on their way.

UPDATED:
Brad from RP called me the next day and provided me with the model numbers that I had requested. He explained there was a breakdown in communicaiton at the office and this issue should have been resolved the first time I called. He was sincere in his apology for the time it took to resolve the issue and offered to refund the service contract and a discount on work that was coded improperly. With the proper pricing of the work and being able to determine the cost of the toilet, the price was reasonable. I appreciate the time Brad took to call and explaining the situation and offering to make it right.

This is my first review in citysearch. My house is old and the cast iron drainage pipe under the slab had rusted out. Radiant came in and in a highly professional manner located the problem, jackhammered through the slab and made the repairs in a minimal amount of time. When they said they would be here, they were here. What they said they were going to do got done professionally. I was very much satisfied with their work and the cost was not excessive. Radiant was the second company called in on this job . The first company spent a week and half and had not found the problem and their estimate kept going up to eventually exceed 13k dollars. I fired them and called Radiant. they completed the job in a few days and the cost was less than half of the first company's final estimate.

I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person and typically look online for reviews of companies before I give them my business. I contacted Radiant Plumbing in order to come inspect a main sewer line clog in my home. I was informed that there was a non-refundable dispatch fee of $39 that would be waived if any service was performed. The plumber that arrived inspected the problem and gave me a written quote of $417 for removal and replacement of a wax ring on the downstairs toilet and a sewer line clearing. I agreed to the service and the plumber removed the toilet, cleared the line with a simple plumber's snake and reinstalled the toilet with a new wax ring. I was told that I would have a 90 day warranty on this service. 30 days later the same problem returned. I called RP to request warranty repair and they set up an appointment for 8 AM two days later. The plumber (not the plumber that did the initial work) finally arrived at 1 PM. After re-diagnosing the problem, I was told that sewage clearing was not covered under warranty, only the wax ring replacement (which I would argue was unnecessary). I was quoted a price of more than $600 for camera inspection and sewer drain clearing which would not be covered under warranty. I asked the plumber to leave because I believed that if I was to spend more than $1000 with a company, the least they could do was provide a warranty. I called a different plumbing company that came out, inspected the line with a camera, found tree roots clogging the line, and cleared the blockage for $294, no dispatch fee, and a 6 month warranty. I cannot speak for the entire business, but the two plumbers that I had dispatched to my home from RP I would not recommend to anyone. They were both very polite and did give me a quote up front, so I have no complaints about their conduct. However, I felt that their plumbing skills (at least with drain clearing), didn't match the price they were asking, and they wouldn't honor the warranty.

Pros: Politeness

Cons: Plumbing Skills, Warranty

Radiant did a wonderful job at our house. We had multiple contractors who were late, broke things, or just did not show. Brad P. with Radiant was patient, always finding a solution to our challenges.

We had a number of small repairs and one large one, and they were extraordinarily efficient, courteous, and competent. You will hear that they are expensive, and they are. But they are remarkably pleasant, reliable, and professional. An excellent outfit, and I'm happy found them. By the way, our plumber was Brad, who deserves all these superlatives.

This is my first review here on Citysearch, but I wanted to write in that Jason was prompt, reliable and professional! Would hire Radiant Plumbing again.

After calling and making a appointment for a estimate on a water heater replacement, I was assured that I would get a estimate when the technician was there. I paid $39.00 for the technician to tell me that he needed to go back to the office and get the pricing together, he would fax or e-mail that night. TWO days later, when I finally did get the choices for water heater repair/ replacement on paper, they were hand written and not on letterhead, with no mention of company name. I made a return call to the office and was told that they do not do the estimates and would type the current estimate to "look professional". It is sad you have to ask people to be professional and timely. I will not recommend Radiant Plumbing.

This company is just great. We had one big problem, a mystery leak that had completely drenched our hall closet, and an assortment of smaller ones (dripping toilets, leaking shower faucets, etc.). We called Radiant on a Sunday night and Brad came out on Monday to do some diagnostics, and then returned with a helper (Jonathan) a couple of days later to do the repairs. The guys were here for about 6 hours straight and fixed everything. The wet closet had resulted from pipes leaking behind a shower and, although they did have to go through a wall to remedy the problem, they really took care to do the minimum amount of damage & cleaned up extremely thoroughly after themselves. Brad was so friendly and professional and explained everything very clearly. He tested all the other pipes he could see to make sure they were sound. He discovered that our main water shut-off at the street was frozen into place (pretty alarming) and stayed an extra 90 minutes to repair that for us. Inexpensive? Nope, but we were really delighted with the job they did and would recommend them to anyone. Great service and extremely friendly office staff--we talked to Jennifer a couple of times. And one more real plus for us -- Brad and Jonathan are definitely dog-friendly. We have three big Goldens so it really helps if contractors who come to our home like dogs & are comfortable around them.

After discovering a strange water leak I went searching for a plumbing service. After reading some positive user reviews on YELP I visited Radiant's website. The website was inviting and I could tell that Radiant could be "my kind of plumber". So, I called. Jennifer answered. She was so helpful and cheerful...she literally brightened my day. We made an appointment. Jennifer called back 1/2 hour before the technician's visit as a courtesy call. Brad P. showed up on-time and was courteous & professional. He recommended a solution that protected my future interests and demonstrated a significant knowledge of the product and the root cause. He's finishing up now. I'm extremely pleased and have found my new plumber. Thanks!

We had an after hours emergency with our shower. We called everyone in town, and Radiant's dispatcher was the nicest, most professional and most accommodating. While the after-hours call was expensive, they fixed the problem in a matter of minutes (after we'd spent about 6 hours trying to fix it ourselves). The plumber who came on the call gave up his own birthday party to help us out. Hopefully, he still got to have some fun. You can't go wrong with these guys - they are very professional, very knowledgeable and very nice. Not cheap, but in this case, you get what you pay for.

We have used Radiant before and they are always prompt, courteous and professional. Whether it be a large job (replacing a water heater in the attic), or a list of small 'fix-it' items that we are doing today, Radiant Plumbing gets the job done right the first time, within your budget, and with your customer satisfaction in mind. What a pleasure!

I used Radiant Plumbing for the first time based on a referral from a friend. The technician was polite, friendly, explained the problem and gave me several options. He was able to install some new fixtures at a reasonable price and went above and beyond by cleaning the grout and re-caulking the tile around the tub. He also flushed my solar water heater for me. The folks at the office were also polite and accommodating and worked with me to find a time for an appointment that fit my schedule. They didn't even mind when I called to check on the status - didn't get snippy or give me some kind of lame excuse when I asked how the day was going. I will definitely use them again.

We had a "nightmare" experience with a gas leak problem and City and Texas Gas permitting/re-connection. The only positive thing that kept us going during this ordeal was the support and service that Radiant's staff provided. We really felt you were on our side and realize that you provided exceptional service. Thanks!
