This restaurant used to be my family's favorite. The food is good, there is rarely a wait to be seated, and the staff used to be stable and customer service oriented.
Since my son was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, we continued to visit Mesa Rosa because they advertise having gluten free options. The first visit was total confusion for the staff. Eventually, we were able to look at the only copy of their gluten free menu. When the order came, it was wrong (flour tortillas instead of corn) so we had to send it back and wait for the second trip (while everyone else already had their orders).
The second trip, we again asked for the gluten free menu. We got to look at their "only" copy....and ordered a gluten free plate. This time, they had gluten-contaminated rice served over the "gluten free" enchildas. Again, we sent it back and the family waited to eat.
So, two weeks ago, I called and asked to speak with the manager. I asked if they could, in fact, serve a gluten free meal. She said yes and that we should ask to speak with the manager each time we went in. She asked us to give her one more chance. So, tonight we went. I asked to speak with the manager and our waitress told us it wasn't necessary. Se then informed us that they don't have a gluten free menu and then proceeded to tell me she could make something if I told her exactly what my son needed. Three times she got the order wrong. I finally went and spoke to another manager and he told me in the same breath that they don't have a gluten free menu because "it is impossible to make", but also that they could "make us anything". I asked if they had any cook staff that even understood the importance of how to prepare gluten free food. He replied, "one".
Needless to say, I am finished with this place.

Anyone with special dietary needs needs to stay away.

Just recently ate here for the first time. It was very good. I had the dish that said it was "the owners favorite" (can't remember it's actual name though) with chicken, cheese, and a sauce; with tortillas and rice and beans. Good Charro beans. They have a tasty ranch sauce for the chips, along with a hot sauce that has almost too much cilantro in it (but good).

Super lunch/dinner place! Try there enchilada's fantastico, its not on the menu but it is one of there specials. I only have one complaint about this place,, they have great Mexican martinis. But they used to serve them with jalapenos stuffed olives, this was one of my favorite parts of this drink. But of course someone complained because they were HOT, so they stopped serving them that way.

Excellent Mexican food. The portions were large and the salsa was the best I have had in a long time.

I really love this place. I think their food is very good. They also are helpful to people with allergies. They can give you an ingredient list for every Item.
I have never had bad service(knock, knock) and I don't think their food is bland.
Try it yourself. It is yummy!
