Texas Team Sports in San Antonio is not at all a good organization. Their web site says they will provide "Custom Jerseys" and "Uniform Provided" but that is NOT true. Today was supposed to be our third game but we canceled becasue Able Bush set us up to play a PeeWee team (ages 5-7) and we are a Rookie team (ages 9-10). What he did to make it right was change their title from PeeWee to Rookie so we could play against them.
Able Bush is the contact person but when you try to contact him he will not answer or return your calls. Texas Team Sports is a scam, in my opinion.
Please do not be fooled by Able's lies. He will disappoint you and your kids.

My families experience with Texas Team Sport has been one nightmare after another. It is surprising that they are still in business. Our first season with them: We were told that we would have a gym and that each player would get a complete uniform. We were unable to use our uniforms for the first three games (mind you...there was only seven games and a double elimination tournament). The league had the boys wearing extremely small jerseys in the mean time. We were told that we would receive a discount the next time we signed up our team. We should have insisted for our money back, because there was no way that we were going to be satisfied with their service. The second time around with Texas Team Sport was worse. Our boys were playing in a division that the director, Abel Bush, was not enforcing the age brackets. Apparently our boys were playing against high school kids, instead of 13 and 14 year olds. I know this, because my daughter attends the same school of more then 4 players on one team. Not only does Texas Team Sport not enforce the by-laws, but they tend to hire referees that do not look out for the safety of the players. Players were allowed to throw elbows and literally hurt other players. One referee even said that it was part of the game. I understand that the referee can not ensure the safety of all the players at all times, but to allow players to continue to hurt players is unacceptable. Their job is to correct the players and call a fair game. As a parent, it was frustrating for me to see my son play the game and know that in order for his team to have a chance they would have to play dirty like the other team. I'm glad that our coach is the type of person that will not tolerate that kind of sportsmanship and that he continued to coach our boys to play with integrity and morals. I highly recommend to parents to STAY AWAY from Texas Team Sports for any kind of sport. On their website they say that they "provide a youth sports league with a focus on developing confidence, self esteem, and sportsmanship through the performance of competitive team sports, while promoting physical and moral character development to all participants." They actually do the opposite. Texas Team Sports does not do their job in checking birth certificates to ensure that children are competing within their age group, (it takes away from their confidence & self esteem). TTS does not hire referees that are there for the children. The referees take away from the game when they do not make the calls they need to make (there goes the sportsmanship, because players are allowed to make fouls repeatedly. Can't blame the kids for this, it is the adults: referees and the coaches). And how can a game be competitive between two teams, when one of the team also has to compete against the referee as well. I for one have to confess that I probably could have handled a situation much better, however, when I pay an organization to provide the necessities for my child to have a safe and fair competitive game, I expect SAFETY to be the priority. I wish I could give no star to this organization, but unfortunately the lowest is a one. (Just for the record...I know that there are referees out there who are good at what they do, because my son has experienced them. SO to those referees....thank you for having the love of the game and instilling in our boys the true meaning of competitive sports. TEXAS TEAM SPORT IS NOT THE PLACE WHERE YOU WILL FIND THIS

One star is the least I could give. Otherwise. I would not have given any stars. Yes, it's THAT bad!! No schedules, no jerseys, barely had fields, different rules for each team, etc., etc.

** First football game canceled due to no jerseys and no playing field.
** Second game still no jerseys and had 8-10 year olds (3rd-5th graders) playing against 11-13 year olds (6th-8th graders)
** A big meeting was held to discuss the many issues of the game and to move the older boys to another team.
** Third game (two kids still without jerseys and playing a different team with 11-13 year olds)!!! Is this league for real? You've got to be kidding me! Didn't we just go throught this LAST WEEK!?!?!?!?

Practices were held at a Northside ISD school, but the games were held at a Northeast side park . . . . . lots of driving all over town.

Enough is enough! Abel Bush (Texas Team Youth Sports owner) said we could get a refund due to all the issues . . . . . I requested a refund, but it's been a month, still waiting for my refund . . . . . . not holding my breath.

WARNING: There are reputable leagues out there. Texas Team Youth Sports (also known as TTS) is NOT one of them. Avoid the headache of TTS, and spend your time and money elsewhere!

They make up rules as they go. They state they are different from the rest because they check birth certificates. This is a lie. They let the coaches register the kids, no age limits verified. They bend the rules for certain teams allowing team member to arrive 30 min late instead of forfitting the basketball game. In other situations they do not wait (even 2 min) and call the game a forfit. They are unfare. They have allowed basketball team member to join a team after they have stated that no one else can join after the cut off time. Sports is great for kids but not when your in a league that in unfare, unorganized and unprofessional. I do not recommend this league to anyone. Protect you kids from this sports (organization) environment.

I highly do not recommend this league for any coaches/parents or players. I have been a Youth Tackle football coach for over three years and this is by far the worst league in San Antonio.

1. The league claims a weight limit which they DO NOT enforce. During the season My coaching staff had about 6 kids from various teams not play due to being over 40+ pounds over weight. (PARENTS/COACHES BEARE)

PLEASE NOTE THE TEXAS TEAM SPORTS IS NOT CHECKING WEIGHT LIMITS BEFORE EACH GAME...

2. The league allows coaches to take care of the registration process which coaches were caught cheating having 12-13 years olds playing in a 9-10 age division.

3. The owner Abel Bush is clearly not watching out the for best for the youth in San Antonio as he is not equipped with site coordinators, game team rosters are not checked before each game, weight limits are not checked, no security. I personally brought to the attention to Abel Bush that a 11 year old was playing with a 8-9 year old divisons and he did not do anything about the matter. We personally the knew the kid that was 11 years old playing in a 8-9 year old age group.

4. The site coordinator at the game site only sells snacks so to bring new kids on the field is easy as no one checks who's playing and who's not. (VERY DANGERIOUS)

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST LEAGUE IN SAN ANTONIO.. BEWARE...

I DO NOT EXPECT THIS LEAGUE TO LAST LONG IN SAN ANTONIO BEFORE PARENTS AND COACHES FIND OUT HOW DANGERIOUS THIS LEAGUE IS FOR THE YOUTH OF SAN ANTONIO.

Great for the community
keep up the good work our youth need an outlet and an alternative to all the negativity that is abundant in their lives after all we are a product of our environment whether it may be negative or positive and our children are influenced subconsciously through television and radio.
