Ravenna's is an average place to visit. I'm not sure why it received 4 and 5 stars, unless someone from the restaurant gave it that. The food was nothing special. I could have made the same meal at home, and I have no experience in Italian food. My husband and I were expecting something really fantastic after reading the reviews, and we were both disappointed when we tasted our food. It was nothing like the comments say. I won't return.

this is probobly the best resteraunt in the world!!!!!
I spent $5,000 in here and i will keep on doing it chef manuel is unbelivable cook, ive never seen so fast and so tasty food he makes

** The reason I gave 2 stars vs. 1 is because of the Customer Service.

I live in the area and had not given Ravenna a try so I stopped in. I was warmly greeted by the owner as well as the staff. At first I was going to get a slice of pizza but the kind I wanted was not available by the slice.

The staff suggested I try the pasta. They said it was soooo AMAZING! I mentioned that I like Alfredo and they raved about it, saying it was the BEST, so that's what I ordered.

I brought it home & was very impressed with the large portions. I was eager to dig in. I tasted it and it was completely WITHOUT FLAVOR! I love alfredo sauce & this was probably the worst I've ever had. I was very disappointed and totally wasted my $14+. I tried to doctor it up in my kitchen but it was pointless.

Bummer because it is a convenient location but I won't be visiting again unless it's for a bottled beverage. I'm a little suspicious of the other reviews....wondering if it's friends/family! Oh well, there you have it!

Great outdoor location for people watching on a busy night but eat before you go....

Cafe Ravenna has been in downtown for years, and they recently invested some serious cash into a remodel. The new interior looks great - they went from stuck in the 70s to modern chic! The service and atmosphere have kept pace with the new digs as well. The food was serviceable, to me. But the bar is frequently busy and it looks to be a good place to hang out and watch the game.

I tried this place again after banning it for over 5 years due to the poor service. It seems to have improved. The food is decent and the new look and feel of the location is very nice. They recently remodeled and it looks much nicer than it used to. The prices are good and the food is basic Italian.

I've always had a good experience with this place...for lunch or dinner. I used to live in the Davis building so it was nice to be able to walk downstairs and grab a slice for dinner (there's not much available to pick from in the evening down here). The staff is pretty cool...the guys that run it are from somewhere in europe. They now have a decent happy hour as well.

I live downtown and love to try new places. I came upon Ravenna because i wanted a slice of pizza. When i went in the owner Milan greeted me and made me feel like family. The pizza is amazing and now i have been so many times that i have almost tried everything he offers. The calamari is perfect, and the sauce it comes with is legendary. I go there for lunches, dinners, drinks and after the bars close i go there for some late partying. They have a dj on the weekends late and pizza is served til like 330 or something. If you don't go and try it you are missing out on a Downtown Dallas Gem.

Ravenna's is a Jewel of a Restaurant, located in the heart of downtown Dallas, Texas. The food is absolutely fabulous (five star quality with a two star price). The atmosphere is magical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time we went there was about 2 AM after a nite out and the pizza was really tasty. It was the 1st time I have had authentic pizza by the slice in Dallas. The pizza guys were "real" and just super funny. Have been back several times and always get great service and personality from the staff there. Whether your going for a late nite/early morning slice or a nice dinner, this is a great place!

I am so absolutely impressed with my dinner last night - wow - incredible. I had the special that I think is called Zuppa di Mare - pasta with clams, sea scallops, salmon, mussels, shrimp, & calamari!! Whoa - I can't tell you how delicious this was. The bartender has a new drink as his signature & you must go try it - has green in the name - but not too many if you're driving. Great location - parking is a cinch downtown really. I parked off Field - free, very cool. It's close to a lot of happening night life spots, but I'm telling you the food here is awesome - wonderful secret at least to me - hope it doesn't get mobbed soon. I'll be back often.

Great food at a resonable price. Service staff with great personality makes the difference in this intimate setting. I look forward to returning.
