I'm so glad to have found this website with all of the posts on Royal Management. I just moved to the area with my husband for his new job, so I've been submitting resumes for jobs in local newspaper and chamber of commerce website. I received a voicemail from Becky with Royal Management today and she said she just downloaded my resume from Monster and wanted to speak with me about an open position. The problem with that is I've never used Monster so that was the red flag that prompted me to do some research, And in her message she was sketchy to say "I'm calling from the (long pause).. corporate office". Nothing in her message seemed right and that's how I found this review page. After reading about all of the toxic things that go on at this place, I feel like it has saved me from questioning my gut instincts! Just hate others went through such pitiful treatment. Always trust your first instincts, I did today and found out what I needed to steer clear of this place! Thanks to all for posting, there's too many good employers out there to settle for crumbs!!!!

I have worked for the company for 8 years and I have seen bad, but mostly good. I am in for the long term. As long as you do your daily tasks, there is no problem. You must be honest and sincere about your job. I have learned so much

This place is so unprofessional. Do not ever work here! First off Miss Hansen the Utah supervisor doesnt care about anyone not even the actual customers. Why the owner thinks she is a good worjer is beyond me. (maybe its their secret relationship thay have) she will make your life absolutely rotten for no reason. Its like fightinG with a 16 year old when really she is 4 decades passed that! Dealing with anyine gigh up in this company is terrible they were all trained to dusrespect you! The owner will badger you in front of EVERYONE and he doesnt care. He thinks he is the smartest man alive and hes really not. He may have a lot of money but im sure no one ever.will look up to that evil man. If you have no life like to tell a customer or another co worker they are pieces of crap this is the place for you. This comoany needs to seriously be closed down anyone who has been with this company 4 months pluS will probably have serious stress and mental issues later in life. They are that mentally abusive! STAY AWAY! THE RAISES THEY GIVE ARE TO TRAP YOU IN! DONT FALL FOR ANY OF IT!

several years ago, I did in fact interview for this company...the comments are correct in stating that the Receptionist is rude...and the overall feeling you get when you walk into the place is "stressful". I just remember the girls (not ladies) were all dressed like hoochies! I could not believe that they were dressed like that! I feel sorry for the people that have worked there and were ripped off by this so-called business.

Unfortunately I worked for this company in the state of Utah for several years, this is the worst place I've ever worked for. The only reason I endured that long is because I really needed the job, but I would cry thinking I had to be back there the next day. I was working full time, they promised 2 weeks vacation a year, insurance and a raise every 6 months. This off course didn't happen, except for the insurance because it is mandatory and you pay for it. Every time I asked for a day off it was denied, no matter the reason. If you work for this company you will NOT get any time off... EVER!! Their computer system is a joke, their offices are horrible, Mr. Gentry is cheap!! he will not buy anything new, their computers and furniture are way older than I am! He and the home office staff will disrespect you just for fun, they think they own you and want to make sure you believe that as well. They fire people just because they can and they like messing your life up as much as possible. Tracee Hansen, the Utah state supervisor does this too, she thinks she is the queen of the company and she will tell you that. I could't have my car with me every day, sometimes I would take the bus to the office and my manager didn't mind because I was always on time and it wasn't a problem. When Miss Hansen found out about this she told Mr. Gentry and they decided to have fun with it and transfer me to a different city away from my house, they told me I had to have my car with me at all times or they would fire me. The first day I worked at the new office they lowered my hours to part time and took away my insurance, they did this right when I was supposed to get my vacations and since part time employees don't get any vacations they denied me any time off (the year before this they denied my vacations too for no reason). I had to figure out a way to have my car every day at work and I never used it. I was finally able to get out of there! If you work for this company make sure you don't make any mistakes EVER! they will suspend you for anything, no matter how small the mistake was even if it's your first mistake. Be careful, if they hire you during spring they'll probably fire you once summer is over, they hire people to cover for managers when they go on vacation and then get rid of you. If you work there, try to get out! If you're considering working for this company DON"T!!! Run, don't walk!!!

In early March, I applied for a managers job at Gentry Finance-Royal Management in Mobridge, SD. Willing to pack up, leave my wife and son behind, and drive the 1,600 miles from Los Angeles to Mobridge, Virginia Ginny Kellerher (my would-be boss who commutes weekly from Rapid City) initially wanted to hire me sight unseen without even a phone interview. We will try to get you $45,000, she promised.

But when I e-mailed her a PDF of my drivers license, the truth came out: I was born in 1954. And you know what that made me: NOT hired. After learning I am 58, Ginny refused to return any of my phone calls or e-mails.

The POS attitude, mentioned in other Gentry Finance-Royal Management reviews, was shining through.

I spoke on March 15 with a Mobridge Chamber of Commerce rep. She said Gentry Finance had been there a scant two years, but they have a high turnover of employees. Thats a HUGE red flag. Good companies don't have high employee turnover rates.

After reading Inside Pages reviews about the horrors of working for Royal Management-Gentry Finance, I thank my lucky stars. Yes, I would have worked hard and been a great manager for Ginny (I have lots of successful management experience), but abusing clients and coworkers isnt on my agenda. And being abused? F-no.

A word to consumers: If considering a visit to Gentry Finance for a loan, go elsewhere. Clearly, as I realized firsthand, the company abuses its clients and employees. These loan sharks do big business with residents of nearby Standing Rock Indian Reservation. Many of them are poor, so its easy to write loans, but many of these men and women cannot repay them.

A better loan strategy for Mobridge consumers? Try Wells Fargo or Dakotah Bank. Their standards are higher than Gentry's, but at least youll borrow from a stable, reputable company.

I worked there briefly as a manager. Took the position because it fit what I needed at the time. I've worked in finance for years prior, mostly in the area of helping people get straightened around financially to better themselves. This is NOT what the company is about, its about making a buck at the expense of those in need and those not smart enough to know better. The people at "home office" are degrading and rude. Mark L Belcher is a pompous ass and the district supervisor Ginny, well that's another story, she'd half ass train you into the position and try to degrade you for only half ass knowing the job. I got written up because she wasn't smart enough to realize she didn't get the preapproval for enough overtime to show me how to do legals. And another time because my store didn't get its "one loan" the day my wife went into labor and I left early. The sad thing is a store can do 1-2 loans a day all week and not get nasty grams but have a good week of 6+ a day and ONE slow day of none and all of a sudden you're the biggest POS out there.
The comment of people don't want to work and yadda yadda just are a way of covering up. I came to the office every day to WORK, but between the tactics they call "modivational" and all the other BS its just too hard to respect your superiors or any of the other people at "home office." The only positive comments on here have to be from Gentry's pawns. This may be one of those "experience for yourself to believe" situations, but once you do you'll relate to many of the names and comments from past employees like myself that have posted on here.

I have been here for several months now and i can tell you these things are not true. It's very professional, I think the people writing these things just don't want to work. If you work hard, you get raises and can even get bonuses. Would Defiinitely recommend if you want a place to work your way up.

Pros: hard work pays off

all i can say is This place is horrible. A.P Gentry lies to cover his sorry ass and so do his supervisors. Such as mark belcher. I have never been degraded or belittled so badley at any company as much as i have here. We had 493 accounts myself who worked 46 hours a week and a part timer who worked 25 hours a week. They would get mad at me for us not being able to call the cards every day. well i guess me going to court for the 30 plus accounts we sue every month and the 7-8 loans i did every day had nothing to do with the fact that i wasnt able to call cards. I requested to get my employee more hours. Mark belcher called me and said "jay there is no way in this world we are going to approve him for more hours!" When it came to hireing any one either no one wanted to work there or their credit was bad so they couldnt. so forget hiring most applicants. This by far has been the worst company and job eexprience i have ever had. If a family member dies forget going to the funneral. They didnt let me go o my nephews funneral untill late tuesday so i missed his wake all together. i was back at work the very next day. Forget seeing your newborn baby. if you do go then you will be seeing a supervisor in your office soon after to tell you their doing an audit. I HAD TO CALL MARK,
"MARK SAID YOUR SUSPENDED FOR THREE DAYS WE WILL CALL YOU WHEN YOUR SUSPENSION IS OVER." I made them give me this in writting. To cover m self in the case tey say i walked out. Normally this is how they fire their managers and get away without paying any unemployment. Do not trust this company they are just mob family working the loopholes.

If you do make any mistakes you have to stay untill there fixed. They will not pay you for staying those extra hours and will not authorize or approve any requests for extra hours. You still have to close the store on time and you still have to get at least one loan before you can leave everyday. PART 2= Thursday, I had a very soar ear. I went to the doctor to get it checked and I had to do it during my lunch (I took about an hour). Of course the whole time I was out I was getting text messages from my employee Nancy, stating that she was starving and that she wanted me to come back so that she could go eat with her husband. A husband whom she cheats on and apparently hates. So, I finally let her know what I was coming back to the office cutting everything short. I called my supervisor on the way back and let him know that I needed to get some time off to go to the doctor the right way........... Next thing I know, I'm walking in to the office and Nancy walks out. Comes back an hour later.
The next day, Nancy comes strolling in the office at 9:25am...... being late is a BIG NO with this company, but she's been doing this for some time now. Without letting me or the other employee know, Nancy walks out and leaves the office at exactly 12pm..... no note..... Nothing for me and I was the Manager. I let BO know AGAIN, but he tells me that I need to leave "my personal mistakes" out of the office. Come Saturday (today) I opened the store...... counted all the money...... took out the trash and got ready for the day to start. To my surprise, Nancy comes in right at 9am. That was a first. I asked BO what store he was at so that I could fax him what he wanted and he stated that he was off today so I should just fax them to Weslaco, TX. Low-and-Behold, He shows up at my office right at 11:55am. I was confused because he had lied to me and stated that he was busy. Before he walked in Nancy was swearing at me and SAID "BO WOULD GET RID OF YOU BEFORE HE GETS RID OF ME" (with a smirk). I sent him a text with was she said to me. A few minutes later, he walks in. Jorge, Nancy and I were sitting there waiting for closing time and then he locked the door with HIS KEY. Nancy's counting her drawer and quiet. He seemed angry because he wanted to say what he witnessed but he never had the chance. He leaves. Bo once again locks the door and now it's just me and Nancy with him. No Cameras, No voice recorder....... just us........ I have a trip to Killeen, TX to see my daughters and hurry to count the money in MY drawer.......I sit at my desk and all the while Bo is standing behind me. Mr. Pena and Mrs. Guerrero stood watching while I counted the money and made my deposit. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. My deposit was $454.27 and I had exactly $400.00 left in my register. EVERYTHING BALANCED OUT AND DEPOSIT WAS PERFECT. When I'm done, doing all the work.......Bo and Nancy gang up on me stating that I gave a friend a loan. This loan has never been late. An account they both knew was opened for months. He gave me the authorization to do it. You have to trust you superior right? I did. He said that he didn't know such a thing and that I had two choices, resign or get terminated. Nancy laughed. I looked at her and then at him....... I asked for an explanation but all I got were lies. I gave him my keys, and a copy of the F4 screen that I found in the back of a dry erase board that Nancy had on her wall yesterday. The small board fell to her desk when I answered the phone and taped in the back was the printout. Jorge saw it too. His jaw dropped. So did mine to say the least. I got a disgusting feeling. Well, I gave Bo the Copy with her handwriting on it stating the amount she took for two customers that are P&L's. She laughed again and he ignored it. WOW. I wonder. How many other people this is done to?

PART 2= Thursday, I had a very soar ear. I went to the doctor to get it checked and I had to do it during my lunch (I took about an hour). Of course the whole time I was out I was getting text messages from my employee Nancy, stating that she was starving and that she wanted me to come back so that she could go eat with her husband. A husband whom she cheats on and apparently hates. So, I finally let her know what I was coming back to the office cutting everything short. I called my supervisor on the way back and let him know that I needed to get some time off to go to the doctor the right way........... Next thing I know, I'm walking in to the office and Nancy walks out. Comes back an hour later.
The next day, Nancy comes strolling in the office at 9:25am...... being late is a BIG NO with this company, but she's been doing this for some time now. Without letting me or the other employee know, Nancy walks out and leaves the office at exactly 12pm..... no note..... Nothing for me and I was the Manager. I let BO know AGAIN, but he tells me that I need to leave "my personal mistakes" out of the office. I have not been fired yet, but they are saying that if I don't get a car they are going to let me go. Was told by an area supervisor that if you tell the senior vp that you would rather be treated like a person that get a raise, you'll be fired. was told by this same supervisor that the policy of this company is "Burn 'em and turn 'em". If you work for any branch of this company, your employment will be a cycle of being threatened and being ignored.

In reading some of your reviews I am amazed at how similiar the situations are to my own.

My only suggestions... Watch your back. I was not employed in the great state of texas but with the company. Be safe, practice keeping notes and document dates, times etc.

I was employed with a branch of Royal Management. IE:Gentry Finace, If you like being degraded, forced to treat customers and employees with dis-respect, and work for free..This is the job for you. Not only do you work the "hours posted" but also after hours and on Sundays...., YOU DO NOT LEAVE unless YOU MAKE A LOAN!! I have never worked for such a ignorant ruthless company in my life. I had a customer that was involved in a auto accident that took the life of her daughter and grandson, My customer was clinging toher life and I was asked to do whatever it took too collect on her account..., was even TOLD to go to the HOSPITAL and see if someone from her family would pay the account!
This company has no respect for its Employees and especially its customers. Not only would i advise not working there but also not to become a customer all together. If the need arises to get a loan..., your better off robbing a bank. It is alot less to pay back and less degrading.

I had initially received a call from one gal who transferred me to a guy then he transferred me to a different gal and I was told I would interview with yet another different gal. Yikes! I have never had a interview call that was so unprofessional. It felt like they were trying to impress me with how many people they have or something. That was flag #1 that made me research the company carefully. I researched the company and found several sites, like this one, with complaints. All I can say is wow and thank you to all of you. I talked extensively with my spouse about this place and whether I should even go for an interview because I live pretty far away (40 min). Based on what I read I was very leery, but I decided to go to see the place that generated so many complaints. When I got there the receptionist was rude and she spent a good deal of time talking to other employees about personal stuff. It was a nice building, pretty new, but the cars outside were not the best. I always look at cars to help gauge places because I drive a luxury car. When I did ask the receptionist two questions she was very curt and made me feel like I was wasting her time. The looks I got from other employees when they walked by were a little hostile feeling. The interview gal was nice at first but then she turned downright rude at the end of the interview. I just got the feeling that the employees there really don't care at all and that they think they are the popular/I'm too good for you clique that is still in high school. I am sure the office politics there are very interesting and full of drama. Thank goodness I don't need a job and I do feel sorry for the person they do hire.

I never thought this would ever happen to me but it did. I am a well educated person and I can't believe I walked into something like this. I remember going to interview with this company a red flag should have went up. First I was waiting for more than an hour, then I had to sit again and wait to see the owner. Finally the owner made time this was another hour . I was filling out paper work and I could hear the high pitch voices yelling at each other. I freaked out because I have never had owners, presidents etc., yell like crazy. Anyhow I was told about the insurance I had to take and the pay I was offered was cut. If you are going to offer people something in front of them then you come back with another number, you really must be joking. Well, I took the job because I needed it at the time. But let me tell you this company has lots of skeletons in the closet. The owner speaks to people like he is better than the rest. The Senior VP and EVP are related to each other and take alot of extra BS but then treat there employees like dirt. I am not sure why anyone would really like to work for this company because they you would really regret every stating you would take the job. The COO is the worst he is very sneaky and does lie to keep his job. Several good employees have been fired because he lied to the boss. This environment is not for the good at heart or for people with ethical and moral values. This job is for people who are selfish, have no values and who will put a knife in your back just to get to the top. Take another job save yourself the humiliation and make yourself a happier person by telling them thanks but no thank you.

I remember going to interview with this company a red flag should have went up. First I was waiting for more than an hour, then I had to sit again and wait to see the owner. Finally the owner made time this was another hour . I was filling out paper work and I could hear the high pitch voices yelling at each other. I freaked out because I have never had owners, presidents etc., yell like crazy. Anyhow I was told about the insurance I had to take and the pay I was offered was cut. If you are going to offer people something in front of them then you come back with another number, you really must be joking. Well, I took the job because I needed it at the time. But let me tell you this company has lots of skeletons in the closet. The owner speaks to people like he is better than the rest. The Senior VP and EVP are related to each other and take alot of extra BS but then treat there employees like dirt. I am not sure why anyone would really like to work for this company because they you would really regret every stating you would take the job. The COO is the worst he is very sneaky and does lie to keep his job. Several good employees have been fired because he lied to the boss. This environment is not for the good at heart or for people with ethical and moral values. This job is for people who are selfish, have no values and who will put a knife in your back just to get to the top. Take another job save yourself the humiliation and make yourself a happier person by telling them thanks but no thank you.

OMG, I don't even know where to start with this company. First, I will start with the name Royal Management. They call it Royal for a reason these lunatics actually think they are Royalty and everyone else are poor peasants and they treat you like the dirt they walk on. The President of the company yells at everyone like he has zero respect for them, he insults your intelligence and belittles you for simple human error. I had to buy my own supplies because they were so cheap. The benefits were forced upon you and they cost 7 times more than I have ever paid before (and they were horrible). All the office furniture is old and broken it is just a disgusting place to work. If you love yourself at all take my advice you will find something better I promise!!! Working there was like going to the Twilight Zone everyday (or a really bad nightmare). Also, notice there is only 1 good comment about these monsters they SERIOUSLY probably left that review themselves. I am not just some bitter old employee, I am a really good person, that has always been a favorite at my jobs and in all of my college classes. I am very much a people person and I know for a fact the way they treat people is wrong! If you currently work there and you are reading this do something good for yourself and leave, there are many better jobs even with the bad economy. Good Luck.

Yeah, you are not able to make everyone happy but when you go to the site of "RIPOFF" you can read and hear what other employees had to say.
Someone is not telling you the truth and the way this economy is I am sure that the employee is telling the truth about the Executives and Management.
Everyone gets there day and they will get their day soon.
As far as "MISSENGLISH" is concerned, I think this person is either just deaf and blind. The public can research their employment history and you can see how many employees feel they have been victimized by the employer.

I have worked for Royal Management for a year and a half,i found this company to be very loyal, trustworthy and respectful to their employee's,I have worked for some wonderful companys in my time but Royal Management has to be my favorite.My bosses have been great,the training i recieved has been of the highest,i truly believe you are what you are trained to be,the best trained me so which is why i feel i can do my job very well.

If you are expecting a career think twice, the COO is intimidated by your intelligence, and the employees who have been there since high school are even worse, yes they lie to the boss only tell him things on a need to know basis. The employees are treated with no respect, if your one minute late because of traffice or bad weather like ice on the roads you get it marked in your employee profile then after three you get written up. If you call in becasue you are ill, you are asked to come in anyway, they have no sick leave, no PTO, you must give a three day notice if you have an appointment and that does not mean you will get it. The COO is very unprofessional and seems to think the owner is unaware of his behavior, but I not the only employee that is very aware of his behavior. He terminated an employee for no reason, sent the person home and the secretary and him did it while the owner was out of town. The secretary is just as bad, she has done this in the past with other employees. I remember a project that the employer had her work on and she wrote a check the A/P person was questioning the reason why they were writing a check to that person whom was an employee at the time. The owner asked the secretary and she denied the agreement made between her and the employee. Trust is not a good thing at that company and it is management that is failing our company. The owner needs to take some interest with the employees and Listen to them before it is to late. The COO was the person whom told the employees to dump personal documentation in the dumpster and then falted employees on the news. Because we have loans with this company I would suggest that everyone be aware because everyone in that company has access to your personal information. We still use DOS and your personal information is faxed to unsecured fax lines. The COO was not held accountable and should have. All levels of management speak to their employees horrible I think they break laws everyday.
