We have been very happy with SASA. We feel learning to swim is a safety issue. We really appreciate having the classes nearby at a similar time over an extended period. Our children are learning to swim ! Corey and Savannah are wonderful.

Our girls started swim lessons at another well known swim program. All they did was blow bubbles and learn how to float on their backs for months and months and months.
We were frustrated that their swimming skills were not progressing. At the suggestion of a friend we joined SASA.
WOW! In one semester of lessons the girls were swimming like fish. We were so impressed. Their stroke skills, confidence and endurance were growing exponentially in short amounts of time. The girls also were excited to go to swim lessons.
Ms. Rebecca is the best teacher. She understands to the girls capabilities and works with each one individually and caters to their needs.
If you are looking for swim lessons, SASA is where you should start.

Our daughter started lessons with San Antonio Swim Academy at 18 months and has loved it from the very beginning. All of the instructors are great...very patient and gentle; though we especially love Ms. Rebecca!\r
\r
We are amazed at how well our daughter is doing; not only is it fun for her but we feel great that she is learning a valuable life skill. Safety is first at SASA and I feel confident that my little one is learning from the best. If you're considering swim lessons, you should definitely try San Antonio Swim Academy.

My 8 year old son started at SASA this year. Our goal was to have him improve his strokes and learn some new ones. We have been very happy with SASA and especially his teacher, Ms. Rebecca. She has a great way of being able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each child and implement a plan of action for all of them. It is nice to see all the kids in the water at once under the very able direction of Ms. Rebecca instead of the kids sitting outside of the pool just waiting for their turn. Our son has progressed tremendously in the past two months and he is looking forward to the next session.

My boys have been taking swim lessons from SASA for over 3 years now and I couldn't be happier! My older boy was very timid and now he's a fish and I can't believe all that he can do! My youngest loves swimming and is well on his way to becoming a great swimmer all because of the insrtuctors at SASA! This would be the only place I would recommend for swim lessons to my family and friends! Thanks SASA!!!! Jennifer Martinez

My 3 girls have all taken from SASA and the lessons are fantastic. I moved here 3 years ago and started lessons with another place and was so disappointed. I had heard good things about SASA so I pulled my kids out and put them in there. I have been soooo happy. The instructors are tough yet patient. I can't say enough good things. \r

My daughters have been participating in SASA swim lessons for almost 3 years. Miguel T. is one of the best instructors they have every had. He is very patient but also knows just how much to push. Both girls have progressed tremendously over two seasons. We are very impressed with their progress. We hope to stick with Miguel throughout their instruction. The SASA admin team is also very friendly and accommodating in terms of schedules and payment plan. We are happy with SASA. Thank you!

My daughter (4 yr) began her swim lessons last summer under the patient and professional instruction of Mr Zach. She quickly progressed from a new student with no past swimming experience to a confident 4yr old who is comfortable in the water. I credit SASA for instilling great skills in my daughter while making it a fun safe experience. We can't wait to enroll our son as well.

My daughter (4 y/o) and my son (11 y/o) both excelled under the instruction of first Tonya and now Megan. My son did not sign up for another round because of his schedule with other sports. However he showed a vast improvement in his swimming abilities. My daughter is getting braver every week and I appreciate the patience of the instructor. She encourages her but does not push her in a way which would make her scared. My daughter required some surgery and the staff has been very receptive and understanding by working with us and giving us credit toward the next round of lessons. The SASA staff has been just awesome to work with, especially Priscilla. A big thank you to all of you for bringing the joy of safe swimming to my kids.\r

I have two daughters ( ages 4 and 8) enrolled with SASA. As a parent it was important to see that swimming with this company is not only about learning how to swim, but about having confidence, discipline, and staying safe in the water. \r
My daughters instructor ( Mrs. Amber) is the best! She has such patience and truly displays her love for swimming with her students. She always remains so calm and focused even when I can clearly see that her toddler students are not having a good day..\r
The staff at SASA are always a phone call away and are very courteous and professional. Speaking to a ""Live"" person and not an answering machine is always a plus for me.\r
Swimsuits, Goggles, Flipflops, Towels-$$$, My two daughters having fun and swimming with confidence-PRICELESS!\r

Our daughter began with SASA almost three years ago. Our plan was to enroll her for just the summer. But she enjoyed it so much we have been enrolled since. \r
\r
All of the staff at SASA are incredibly professional. The instructors are great with the children making swimming fun while teaching skills/safety. Mr. Anthony is great! He knows how to have fun while keeping the class focused. We have recommended SASA to friends and family and will continue to do so in the future!\r

We've been lucky enough to be a part of SASA for 4 years. Our oldest son has excelled and we couldn't be more proud. What we are truly amazed at is how the instructors have been able to bring out the best in our second son. We were extremely reluctant because he is a very cautious individual and not exactly highly adaptable to new situations. Day 1 went according to what we expected (not so good) but miraculously Class #2 is when our son did the unexpected and jumped into the Coach's arms. You don't know our son, but for him to completely trust someone so fast is amazing. That was a year ago and to this day our son is a different person when we see him in swim class. He is having fun, participating, and constantly has a smile on his face. Every week he is pumped to go swim class and that makes us feel so good. We can't thank SASA enough for their patience, accommodation, and investment into our children. When our youngest is older we definitely plan to send him to SASA. \r

We have had a great experience! Coach Anthony is our swim coach and he definitely puts all of his energy into his student's swim experience. Besides his natural talent for swimming and his technical expertise, he is great with kids! Teaching kids isn't easy but he's got the right chemistry for it and us parents know how hard it is to find someone who can 'finess' our kids in a positive way and get positive results. It has been money well spent. My son is 4 (& big for his age); he doesn't always have a consistent attention span, but Coach A hung in there with him and now my son is swimming on his own and is a self motivated swimmer. Although we go to Rogers Ranch, we've had lessons at several other facilities with SASA instructors over the past 2 years and we've always had a positive experience. My background is in professional dance and I am very discerning as to who teaches my son physical activities. SASA training is smart, technically sound and safe. I am very thankful for our experience.
Cheers!

My daughter first started out with a mommy and me class when she was 2. It was a good positive experience that we continue to use SASA. My daughter is now 5 and she has developed into a strong, confident swimmer. I have to attribute her progress to her coach Ms. Amber and the entire coaching staff. They are dependable and make learning a great experience. I've been very happy with the entire organization. Thank you SASA for teaching my daughter to swim. \r

I read the first couple of reviews and have to say my experience with the San Antonio Swim Academy has been the complete opposite and nothing short of excellent. My son has been a year round swimmer since the age of 3. By the age of 5 he was swimming the length of the pool incorporating multiple proper swim techniques. I'm a very picky parent and don't settle for subpar. I can honestly say the instructors we've had (Chris, Seville & Anthony) have all been professional, patient and truly exceptional. My son loves to swim and is completely comfortable in the water. I owe his success to the fantastic teachers and exceptional learning environment provided by the San Antonio Swim Academy. If you're considering swim schools for your child, I would highly recommend this one!

Now, I can sleep good at night knowing that she has taught our daughter Marina the basics of swimming. We look forward to keeping her in the SASA. She really enjoys her private lessons and loves the water. Ms. Amber and SASA are the BEST! Thank you so much for being there for our daughter!!!!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE San Antonio Swim Academy! When my 4-yr-old daughter first started, she was extremely shy and wouldn't even talk to her instructor. She was afraid to jump in the water, afraid to go to the bottom...pretty much too shy for anything! In just her second session, she's made so much progress not only with swimming, but with her social skills as well. She just talks and talks to her instructor each class and she's now swimming half the length of the pool. I initially just enrolled her so she can learn to swim, but she won't let me take her out now! Swimming is definitely the highlight of my daughter's week. She says she wants to be a swimmer when she grows up!\r
\r
I read a couple of others reviews that talked about unreliable instructors, and I'm happy to say we have never had that problem! Her instructor is ready to start on time every single class.

MY SON DID NOT WANT TO PUT HIS HEAD IN THE WATER WHEN HE STARTED & WOULD ALWAYS SWALLOW LOTS OF WATER NOW YOU WOULD NOT EVEN THINK IT WAS THE SAME KID. HE IS NOT AFRAID TO GET IN THE WATER. HE WAS INVITED TO A SWIM PARTY & THE POOL WAS 12 FEET DEEP HE JUST JUMPED IN LIKE NOTHING LEFT ME TALKING TO MYSELF!! I WOULD RECOMMEND SASA TO EVERYONE!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!!

A friend referred me to San Antonio Swim Academy. She had a daughter who was fearful of the water who learned to swim by taking classes with SASA. \r
\r
That was the case with my daughter who is now 8 and my son who is now 5. They were both fearful of getting out in the water without clinging tightly to Mom or Dad. I didn't have very high expectations for their first lesson and was hoping that they would even want to go back again. \r
\r
The instructors were fabulous - very confident and capable of establishing a good rapport with the students right away. I couldn't believe how much my children were doing on the very first lesson. My daughter went from being tearful on the way into the lesson to ""That was the best day of my life!"" at the end of that first lesson. \r
\r
We are in the middle of our second session with SASA and the children continue to make steady improvement and still can't wait until each lesson. \r

Our boys, ages 8 and 5, have been in the SASA swim program for a little over a year. They both really enjoy it and they have learned SO much. \r
\r
Being a swimmer myself, I am impressed with the teaching technique. Swim strokes are exaggerated so the kids can truly see how to do it. Students are encouraged to cheer the instructor while demonstrating the swim stroke. It's a fun environment while still being very educational. The class ratio is 4 students to 1 instructor allowing quality one-to-one instruction as each student takes a turn. As they progress, two students will swim at once. A little competition helps the learning curve and provides much fun.\r
\r
Our oldest was thrilled when he could swim the length of the pool. Our youngest, at age 5, is following quickly behind having just achieved the same feat. He was surprised that he could do it!\r

Thanks to all the great SASA swim instructors! Thanks for helping our boys become better swimmers.\r

Our son has been going to San Antonio Swim Academy since he was 4 ..... he loves it and looks forward to his classes every week. We really love the the personalized attention he gets from his coach and the encouragement at every session. We're planning to increase his number of classes every week. Thank you SASA for all the help and skills you are imparting to our son.

My daughter (4 years) has been taking classes for almost a year now. When she started she was scared to go in the water. Now she has no issues whatsoever. She has made great progress and we plan to continue to send her here (infact we have already pre-registered her for another whole year). \r

I have read about complaints from previous posts about instructors changing all the time and cancelling classes. Our experience has been completely the opposite. We always had the same instructor (and she has been great) and I don't remember her cancelling even a single class in the past one year! We take our daughter to the SA swim academy on Guilbeau rd (inside Spectrum).

I searched all over for somewhere to enroll the kids in year round swim lessons and was thrilled when I found the San Antonio Swim Academy. We have three kids enrolled which can be difficult to coordinate at the same location, day and time but SASA has been SO helpful and made the lessons convenient for us every time. The kids absolutely LOVE their instructors Ms. Sara and Mr. Miguel who have helped them improve their skills tremendously. We will be with SASA for a long time. Thank you!

After trying another local swim company, we enrolled our 2 children in swim lessons with San Antonio Swim Academy when they were 2 and 3 years old. Our kids have been making great progress ever since. They are now 6 and 7 and swim with the San Antonio Swim Academy Sharks Swim Team which was way above our expectations. We like the small classes, the patience the instructors have with the kids, and the open pool deck where you can see and hear everything they are teaching your children. We are impressed with the level of instruction and dedication they provide the kids in learning all the proper techniques. The head coach is always in the water providing the support they need to make them better swimmers.

I've had other moms I know use other swim schools, and their kids barely learned to do anything after 18 months!

San Antonio Swim Academy is the total opposite! My daughter has been with them since September '10, and already can do so much on her own! The classes are small, and she gets to learn a lot in small amounts of time (30 minute classes). She loves it, and she is doing fabulous. We couldn't be happier with the progress SASA makes with their students. She will definitely be going until she is a proficient swimmer, and she can continue doing it as extracurricular if she wants.

Our daughter has been in swim lessions with SASA for almost 2 years. She has made great progress in learning to be confident in the water and learning swim strokes. They have a very inventive way of teaching many of the strokes to younger swimmers.\r

We have now enrolled our son who will be 1yr so he can gain the same confidence as our daughter.

I have 2 children enrolled in San Antonio Swim Academy for what will be their 4th session and have been very impressed. My toddler started when she was 15 mo old and is now almost 2. Her confidence and comfort in the water has grown by leaps and bounds. My son was 3 when we started and is now 4 and has actually learned strokes as well as how to hold his breath and swim across the pool. He was very timid when we started the class and looks forward to it now. We have been impressed with the flexibility in times and locations and the ability to apply credits for missed classes towards future sessions. I would highly recommend the Swim Academy for those looking for an affordable, solid, child oriented lesson.

I started my son at San Antonio Swim Academy in the mommy and me class at 8 months. Weve done 3 sessions now and he has really come a long way. It makes me happy to see that my son goes through class confidently and can kick his feet, move his arms, and hold his breath under water for 4 seconds! He sometimes even does better than his older classmates :) There is still much to learn, but my husband and I really enjoy SASA and would definitely recommend this program to our family and friends.

I have 2 sons in with the San Antonio Swim Academy. My youngest is 3 years old and now can swim about 10 feet unsupported in 2 strokes. I am so impressed with the level of instruction. The Instructors we have had have been extremely professional; they all have taken a personal interest in our familys water safety. We have attended several programs, being a military family, and this is truly a one stop shop whether you are looking for water safety or development of technique. Price is always something we look and this is not only affordable but there is also a payment plan. My oldest son is 9 and is on the San Antonio Swim Academy Sharks Swim Team. The head coach is absolutely amazing! He is in the water with the kids and is very hands-on with all aspects of the team. He goes above and beyond the call of duty and it shows in my sons times that have consistently improved at every meet. I feel truly blessed to have found this program for both of my kids.

The staff at San Antonio Swim Academy are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are patient with my children and succeeded in acclimating them to the water- something I haven't been able to do in 5 years! Now I can't pull my kids out of the water! I recommend San Antonio Swim Academy to anyone and everyone who wants to get their children swimming- not just playing in the water or doing the doggie paddle.

My son attended swim lessons twice a week for the Spring II session and due to our family's experience, I would never recommend San Antonio Swim Academy to anyone interested in introducing his / her child to the art of swimming. The swim instructor at the Prue Road location often cut classes short by at least 5 - 7 minutes (out of a 30 minute class time frame). In addition, the instructor cancelled a class because she had a college exam and assured me that a credit would be granted as a result of the cancellation - THAT NEVER HAPPENED! Several fruitless attempts were made in vain to speak with someone at the main office who could assist me with the matter. I finally did speak with someone who assured me that the Owner / CEO would return my call. He never returned my phone call and there was absolutely no follow-up from a representative from the San Antonio Swim Academy. Basically, it appears this company is not invested whatsoever in ensuring optimal client relationships and disregards the importance of customer satisfaction. This is not a family-oriented, child-friendly company - DO NOT ENROLL IN CLASSES as you and your child / children will surely be sorely disappointed.

We just finished a semester of swim classes and it was terrible. There was absolutely no continuity. In the first month, we had three different instructors. It takes time to gain the trust of toddlers, and by the time they were comfortable with the instructor, we got a new one. The final instructor we had kept canceling classes, but he forgot to call us, so we drove all the way to the swim center only to find out there was no lesson for that day. We will definitely continue swim lessons for our kids, but not with this company.

Pros: Dean was a good teacher when he showed up.

Cons: Dean cancelled a lot of classes
