The first 2 minutes already seemed troublesome. The front desk did not greet us as if we were just shopping. Only after we asked for a table did the waitress told us to wait for 10 minutes to be seated.\r

So very delicious! I have been going here for years...Id say about 8 now, and they are always great! service is a little slow but the food is worth it. The two things you must try are green onion pancakes/ and the small and juicy dumplings!

Really good food. I'm a Chinese food fan and think this is some of the best food at lowest prices in Dallas. It fills up quickly on the weekends, but the food is worth a short wait

This is one of the best restaurants in the Richardson China Town shopping center! You can't beat their xiao long baos (listed as "small juicy dumpling" on the menu) or their many handmade noodle dishes (my favs are the cold chicken noodle-not a soup, tza jian mien, and beef noodle soup). They also have delicious appetizers (green onion pancakes!!) and amazing desserts with fresh fruit. Around Sept/Oct, they also sell yummy moon cakes - a bit pricey but definitely worth it if you split it :)

They're also one of the few restaurants in the area that take credit card ($10 minimum). And it's always BYOB.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it all!!

I have been going to Jeng Chi for almost 10 years now. The service is eh but the food makes up for it. The place is always packed and I have never ordered anything I didn't like. This is not a Dim Sum restaruant. That is why the other review was bad. This is the best food traditional food in town!

Pros: The DUMPLINGS!

Cons: Service

.

I came here thinking I was going to have the traditional dim sum considering it was the audience winnder for the best dim sum in dallas. FYI: dim sum is not served here!! It's just known for dumplings and everything else we ordered was mediocre, if not bad chinese food. I'm Asian, so I like eating authentic Asian food, and the dumplings are not wonderful or fantastic. They were ok!!! Note: this is not your traditional dim sum place

Located in the Chinatown strip mall off of Greenville Ave in Richardson, Jeng Chi is an extremely popular, no frills spot due to its low prices and quick service. Though the menu offers a diverse selection of traditional Chinese cuisine (and Ive had several notable Szechuan style dishes here), usually people order dumplings. On the last visit, We decided on a steamer of little juicy buns (xiaolongbao), potstickers (pan fried dumplings), boiled chicken and zucchini dumplings, green onion pancakes, and noodles topped with ground pork sauce (zha jiang mian).

Most of the items were above average to excellent (with the exception of the pan fried dumplings, which may have been just especially bad on my visit). But like I said before, the menu is large and I cant wait to try some of the other items.

Pros: Cheap

.

Dumplings; you have to order at least one. They have frozen ones that you can take home to boil.

In the winter, order the vegetarian green noodles (chicken broth is an option) - this dish really hits the spot in cold weather or if you are not feeling well.
For the spicy side, they have a seafood noodle soup.
Their onion pancakes are a favorite of this place.
Price - cheap cheap cheap. ~$5-8 per dish.

I've not had a bad dish in this place.

Friday and Saturday nights are harder to get seated because of the large groups that come in. Price of success, pun intended.
