I went here with coworkers on a business trip. The place is cute but the patio faces a pretty busy street. The selection was good and the service was great/

Wonderful place to meet up with friends for a casual wine tasting or night on the town with that special someone. Great Houston hot spot for the wine enthusiast.

I've been to The Wine Bucket a couple of times and it's never been very busy. In fact, I think my friends and I were one of two tables each time. The wine selection is limited, but the atmosphere is nice and service is good.

It has been a month or so since I have visited the wine bucket, yet it still feels like home. The staff is always very welcoming with impeckable service and although some changes have been made, the atmosphere is always cozy. The extended patio is loveley with giant umbrellas to shade you from the heat and A flat screen television is tastefully hidden in an armoir for all of those sports lovers. The Wine Bucket is always at the top of my list, and I believe everyone should have experience its wonder!

I love this place...everytime I come in I feel like a member of the family. The decor is very classy and cozy and definatley NOT "hotel lobby" like. The Wine Bucket is a bar and does get very busy, but at no time do I feel like I need to shout over anyone or compete with the music level to have a conversation. Although it's an upper-class type of place, the bar tenders as well as the clientele, are never snobby or pretentious, but welcoming and genuine. If you like wine or even if you don't, but enjoy good company and good service...this is the place to be!

Pros: ambience, service, wine selection and appetizer selection.

i came here in search of more wine bars to chill in houston, but left a bit disappointed. if any, the first giveaways about this place is it's location: in the middle of one of the trendiest, "yuppiest", upper-end living in urban houston...and next to a day spa. the ambience and decorations/furnishings feels like a hotel lobby. trendy, yes, but it has no character. it's really up to your preference. i much prefer the corkscrew or the boom boom room. other than that, the service was just fine. but if you want an eclectic, laid-back, chill atmosphere - go elsewhere. i won't be coming back to this place.

This would be a good place, if it wasn't for the smoke. Well, except service was poor, and the food list was marginal. I won't be going back.

I'd have completely overlooked this place if it wasn't suggested to me - a shame. I've gone a few times, and far prefer sitting inside. When the weather is nice, one might be tempted to sit outside, but then you're reminded you're in a strip mall - a similar fate befell me at Cova's on Kirby. Inside is nice and dark, and quiet enough for conversation. I'll have to bring a larger group of friends to see how we like it after work. So far, I'm preferring The Tasting Room for ambience, but much of that depends on the people you're with.

This is a fun place with great atmosphere and a great selection of wines by the glass. They also have some nice finger foods (cheeses, olives, etc.) that are key when you are enjoying your wine. My only complaint is that, like many restaurants and bars, they don't serve red wines at the right temperature. While most people have heard that reds should be served at 'room' temperature, many don't realize that is a reference to 'cellar' temperature, which is usually about 55-60 degrees. Red wines are best at slightly reduced temperatures otherwise the alcohol will produce an unpleasant bite on the palate. For a place that specializes in wine it would be nice to see them recognize this fact and attempt to educate their customers on this. In the meantime, I'll continue to drink from their great selection of whites!

I have never come across a friendlier or more knowledgable, informative barkeep. Houston should recognize this establishment as one of the finest and most innovative hot spots in town!
