The life span of a bar in Dallas is short lived. So, there is something to be said for a bar in Dallas (especially a dive bar) that has been open for business for over 50 years. I have been a customer of Barbara's Pavillion for over 8 years. And I miss the good old days of a happy neighborhood bar where you could meet up with friends and have a blast. But unfortunately since B.P. has changed owners it is not that place anymore. The reason we go out to a bar is to be happy, visit with friends, have an overall positive experience, and amazing great customer service. You will not get that at the "new" Barbara's Palvion. I was surprised to find recently that I was double charged for drinks that I had consumed. The owner was not only smoking inside the bar, but enjoyed talking trash about everyone that walked into the place. He even told one customer to "shut up" when they were laughing too loudly. What makes America a great place to live is freedom of speech and of choice. If you don't give the customers what they want and constantly disrespect them behind their backs and to their faces, your core supporters will go else where (like next door). Life is too short, and if you are not happy with what you are doing in life, it reflects on your customer service. I feel this "owner" should move on if he doesn't want to be in the bar business (which is painfully evident). Time to pull the "life support" plug on this place. the only medicine that will save this bar's future life span is if the "owner" sells the bar to someone who gives a crap.
