Kathy makes you feel comfortable from the beginning, and is easy to talk to. She is understanding and gives you tools to use to help with your situation. I like that she is a Christian and will incorporate those values into the discussion if you want. She really helps you to understand what is going on and how to fix it.

When my wife and I decided to seek professional help, we chose Kathy based on her stellar reviews and her own personal history. Having never seen a counselor before and being afflicted with that XY disorder, I was pleasantly surprised when my skepticism was dispelled during our first visit. Kathy created a warm and caring environment where both my wife and I felt comfortable discussing all of our concerns. She quickly homed in on the causes of our unhealthy dynamics and patiently taught us techniques to bring us closer together. I have learned so much about myself over the course of our visits.

Kathy's passion is to teach others love and improve the quality of their lives, and at this she excels. Couples in need of guidance and individuals seeking answers should look no further.

I recently started visiting Kathy for her to help me through the end of my marriage. When I started, I was having trouble understanding my life and could not cope with many of my feelings. Within one visit, Kathy helped me process my feelings, understand where my life was going, and encouraged me to improve myself. I felt instantly at ease with Kathy and felt her experience allowed her to fully understand the issues I was facing. As a male who has never been to counseling before, I was somewhat skeptical if seeing a counselor would be worth my time and expense. I now know that speaking to a professional who actually cares about her clients and can offer objective, personal advice on how to deal with my problems has been invaluable to my healing process. I would highly recommend Kathy Pardue to anyone facing marriage or other issues who feel that their personal problems may be too overwhelming or difficult to understand.

My husband and I had come to an impasse and were in desperate need of help. I chose Kathy primarily because of her years counseling. We needed someone, who over the years, would have dealt with many different types of personalities, including very difficult ones. Although we have seen Kathy just a few times and those few sessions have been a roller coaster ride, the sessions have been extremely helpful. Kathy has provided us with very specific guidance. We've noticed subtle changes, at home, in our behavior. Changes that make things better between us. The guidance Kathy gives us makes sense, intellectually and emotionally. It translates at home. She's patient, She works with you. She's helpful.

My husband and I have been looking for a marriage counselor and selected Karis Counseling based on great reviews. During our initial visit I was pleasantly surprised with Kathy's professionalism, knowledge and positive energy. She did not take sides, but helped to identify the issues that needed to be addressed, demonstrated high emotional intelligence and logical ways in conflict resolution.
Both, my husband and I felt very comfortable talking to Kathy during group sessions as well as on an individual basis. She has a very positive approach, provides honest and helpful feedback and comprehensive suggestions on how to resolve our problems. I would highly recommend seeing Kathy if you are facing difficulties and unresolved conflicts in your marriage.

I have been going to Kathy Pardue for about three months for cognitive therapy for OCD. She is very knowledgeable and experienced in the treatment of OCD. She has helped me understand that there are other people who suffer with OCD, and that this is something I can and will overcome. She is very sympathetic when I discuss the dificulties and frustrations of this disorder. She has helped me fight the lies that I fear with the truth of God's word and love. I feel she is very professional because she understands the balance of cognitive, medical, and spiritual therapy that is needed to treat OCD. I have seen notable steps in my recovery. My anxiety and depression have drastically decreesed and continue to do so everyday. I have recomended her to my own family, and would recomend her to anyone who needs any form of psychological therapy.

Kathy is a GREATcounselor, she put me at ease right from the start. She seems to completley understand everything I am going through and has compassion for those feelings. She is very direct and honest, which is something I have been searching for! I really appreciate all her insight and advice on what steps to take towards happiness again. I also felt like she was able to read me and understand my values, and never pushed anything on me.
I am very disappointed in two of the negative reviews on her website - they don't paint an accurate picture of her at all.
I highly highly recommend her to anyone.

Kathy Pardue is a wonderful counselor. She made me feel comfortable right away and was very open. She is a great listener and asked great questions that helped me open up and helped me to successfully confront the issues that needed to be addressed without feeling stupid or scared. Her Christian values make her counseling even that much more powerful and effective. She is very soft spoken, kind, and pleasant.

It is always hard to talk about your weaknesses or problems, but with the guidance of a positive counselor you can make positive changes in your attitude and in your life. I would recommend Kathy Pardue for men and women who are ready to have a real conversation with real helpful feedback in a positive and helpful atmosphere.

I'd been working to save my marriage for 15 months with no help from my wife. When we finally decided to go to counseling, we chose Dr. Pardue because she had great reviews and she was a Christian counselor. The sessions were rough sometimes but Dr. Pardue always mediated fairly and she always based her guidance in scripture. She tried to understand both our points of view and helped us to better understand how men and women process words, emotions, and actions.

Dr. Pardue's recommendations were always very direct and honest. I appreciated that because my life was in shambles and I didn't need anything sugar coated. I needed brutal honesty. In the end, her guidance helped me get my life back on track and I'm very thankful for her.

Kathy has proven to be incredibly helpful to me. She listens when you need to get something out and she responds with very helpful, pertinent thoughts and Christian-based solutions. Rather than just telling you what you should be doing and/or modifying, she also offers Christian-based strategies for accomplishing it.

I used to think counseling was something for weak-minded people who weren't strong enough to deal with whatever issues they had. Kathy has proven to me that it can be an incredibly helpful tool in recognizing issues, accepting them, understanding their impact, and addressing them. I am a better person for having gone through this process and Kathy has played a big role in my personal transformation. I would highly recommend her services.

My Husband and I had decided to go to Kathy Pardue based on the fact that she considered herself to be a "Christian" counselor and seemed to be well credentialed. Kathy Pardue has a very abrasive and confrontational style that my Husband and I found to be very bizarre. She knows no boundaries as she verbally attacked to two of us. We found her unprofessional and bizarre and filed complaints with the Texas State licensing board and other professional associations that she is apart of. My husband and I would not recommend her to anyone. We have learned to be more prudent in our search for a counselor and have found one that suited the both of us. I would warn anyone on using Kathy Pardue as a family or marriage counselor.

Upon two visits to Kathy my Wife and I had enough. The first visit she proceeded to attack my Wife, with a very aggressive and direct approach. The next visit, I guess in her way of tipping the scale, she decided to reverse the attack and focus on me. She very unprofessionally laughed at several attempts at the two of us attempting to explain ourselves, worsening the tension between us. Then lastly, we abruptly ended the session and paid to go on our way and find another counselor. Kathy, ever the professional, called me a half hour later to question what exactly went wrong with the session. I explained to her what happened and even apologized for the abrupt ending. She proceeded to, unprofessionally might I add, hysterically laugh at me explaining myself. I ended the conversation by saying that you got what you wanted, an explanation for the abrupt ending and an apology that I wish that I never gave, and I promptly told her to never call me again. My Wife and I were extremely disappointed in her behavior and we wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Our society has fallen into the two traps of narcacissm and humanism and nowhere can you find them better represented than in a therapists office. This is not the case with Kathy Pardue. Many non Christian therapists offer that there is no right or wrong, no shame, no guilt, no wrongness; instead you should focus on your own needs and desires no matter the consequences. If you are looking for someone to affirm your selfish ways, then you should not see Kathy. She transforms worldly views with Biblically based truths and cognitive therapy.

If you are ready to make real change, true change in your life, then see Kathy Pardue. Your authentic self is waiting for you! Make an appointment with Kathy today (and you will love the online appointment setter and text reminders!).

We have a blended family with several teens. Kathy has seen three of our kids and we have seen amazing results with each. Keep in mind that it can be quite difficult to get teens to go to counseling. Her ability to connect and validate each individual child instantly disarms them and makes them actually WANT to do counseling. Each child has come away from the experience with a better understanding of themselves and how their behavior affects others. Also, she has reminded us as parents how we can be more affective with our teens. I would recommend her to anyone. And more than that, my kids would do the same.

I am a 26 year old female that had an all time low in my life this past year. I have been to counselors before but noone has ever made me feel empowered or accepted the way Kathy has. She is a Christian counselor which really helps with my faith in god as well, and I believe that god-along with her are the only two things that have gotten me through this tough year.
She is always available to listen, and I like that she is straight to the point and will tell you exactly how she sees it.
I have learned about myself more through this opppurtunity with her, and I am continuing to grow each and every day!!!
She is amazing as my individual counselor- but she was also amazing while doing couples therapy.

I would not trust my situation or my life with someone else- she is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

I started seeing Kathy over 5 years ago when my husband spiritually divorced me and abandoned me after denying the Bible and falling into the New Age movement. I was distraught and knew I needed help in coping. Kathy taught me cognitive therapy where I would state all the facts in order to not listen to the lies within me about myself and marriage. She also helped me to work through false guilt and distinguish false guilt from true guilt. I am so grateful for her! She is and was a God-send! I would recommend her to any of my friends or family! She is mature and deep in that she helped me to look at all sides of the coin including my conflicting feelings. What a balanced lady with a Godly perspective on life and human relations! I continue to see her because grief continues to pop up at times. She has walked me through all the stages of grief and helped me to stay focused! It is so good to know she is there when I have an emotional issue.

I have seen four councelors through four different stages of my life and Kathy was by far the best. She so subtly leads you toward sharing and connects with you and is direct when necessary but gentle, respectful and makes you feel completely comfortable, even sharing your most painful or fearful things.
She empathizes with you when appropriate and I would recommend her to ANYONE who needed a safe, trusted, healing environment.

Something had to change. My husband and I have been married 36 years, and I could not continue living with him as things were. I had lost all respect for him and had become verbally abusive toward him mainly as a way to get him to leave. I went to Kathy based on the reviews on this website, and thought I would see if there was any way I could change my attitudes and behavior toward my husband. If not, I would consider leaving him.

At the end of my first meeting with Kathy, she asked to work with both of us. She was patient, listened carefully, and made direct observations and suggestions. Somehow, after a meeting she had with my husband, he saw things in a totally different way. I have been amazed at the difference in how he actually wants to hear my concerns, and readily admits when he is at fault, and sincerely apologizes for the things he has done all these years that have hurt me. The last time we saw her, I told her it is as if she touched him with a magic wand and turned my Pinocchio husband into a real person. I find myself wanting to do things for him again, and when I find he has made a mistake, I see it as a minor slip-up instead of feeling this instant surge of anger and disgust. I don't know how she did this ? we had worked before with psychologists, but Kathy does not simply wait for us to figure things out by ourselves. She speaks clearly and tells it like it is ? in a kind, careful way ? that somehow gets results in a very short time. My husband and I realize that we may have rough times again, but now we know we have someone we can go to for real help.

Kathy helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life which was divorce. Being a man it was very difficult for me to seek help but at the lowest point in my life I found a guiding light in Kathy. I found no judgement or condemnation for my behavior which was a partial cause in a failing marriage. I found hope for coping with my feelings and irrational emotions. You have to understand this process did not happen in a matter of weeks but through a series of months of looking inwardly, objectively at behaviors in my life that needed adjustments. Again being a successful businessman and admitting you need help was a difficult step to take but one I should have taken decades ago. I found strength in my beliefs and faith that I had neglected from early years in climbing the latter of success. Once again because of the guidance offered through Kathy I returned to things that really matter most in life. Through her I found direction, purpose, and confidence to cope with any crisis.

Intuative and to the point. One of the things I appreciate most about Kathy is she wastes no time getting to the core of the issue with kindness and empathy.
For both marriage and individual counseling, Kathy has been so valueable in helping me find a clear perspecitve I can truly understand and count on.
It is great to have someone I can consult with at any time on any issue who can help me find my "focus".
Kathy Pardue is truly gifted in her profession!

Meeting Kathy was an answer to my prayers! After meeting with several other counselors, and repeating our painful story and situation over and over, I was not looking forward to trying another one, but I am so glad we did! Kathy Pardue is amazingly warm and as easy to pour your heart out to as your best friend. She has sound biblical advice, she applies her knowledge to my situation and actually gives me a variety tools and answers rather than just listening and letting me eventually come to my own conclusions via a staring contest. She customizes her advice to my personality and to my husband's personality in a way that we can live with and work with, and won't abandon because it doesn't fit us. She is blunt at times (haha.. she even got through to my husband in a way I couldn't for all these years!) and she is gentle with her words when fragile feelings are at stake. She stays current on seminars and literature to help us get the help we need. I credit her with helping us saving our marriage! She is awesome, easy to schedule appointments with, and takes our insurance (a biggie for us since we needed so much help!). Highly recommended. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

Meeting Kathy was an answer to my prayers! After meeting with several other counselors, and repeating our painful story and situation over and over, I was not looking forward to trying another one, but I am so glad we did! I am so thankful that God led me to Kathy to discover, grow, change, accept, learn, understand, develop, feel and most of all, come to terms with the reality of the present moment; while finding peace in all that I have experienced. Kathy's whole hearted truths, through compassion and empathy, has allowed me to move through all of the heavy emotions I have unknowingly been carting around on my shoulders, in an overbearing, unbalanced, lopsided existence. She has helped me to see the realness of my pain, by looking dead on to its core, to diminish the power it so tightly had me wrapped around. The excitement and fullness upon leaving Kathy's office each week, put an extra spring in my step! I feel so grateful our paths crossed, knowing all that she has shared with me will carry me through with great support, as I walk forth with optimism...not running too fast, but enjoying the present beauty all around me! Kathy is a true gift!!! I believe she is an angel flying around from person to person, sprinkling her wisdom on the lucky ones that have had the chance to become better off from having known her! I will cherish our friendship always!

Pros: Thumbs Way Up!

Cons: None

Kathy Pardue is very attentive. She gives you her undivided attention, as if nothing else were going on in her life. She has a way of pulling thoughts or feelings out of you and explaining why you are thinking that way or feeling that way. I was able to tell her things I would only tell my best friend or no one. She creates a bond between patient and therapist and I'm sure she does that for all of her clients. She became my therapist just when I felt defeated, rejected, and unsure of myself. She helped me build back my self-esteem, which gave me the strength to carry on.
