I TOOK MY 87 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER TO THIS BRANCH TO OPEN AN ACCT WITH CHASE. SHE LIVES IN A VERY SMALL TOWN IN S EAST TX AND WAS ASSURED THAT SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO WIRE MONEY FROM THIS ACCT WITH NO PROBLEMS ONLINE. AFTER SETTING UP AN ONLINE ACCT AND LOGGING ON 5 DIFFERENT TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY, IT WAS ALL OF A SUDDEN BLOCKED. WHEN WE CONTACTED THE 800 # PROVIDED TO CLEAR THE BLOCK THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WE HAS THE MISFORTUNE OF DEALING WITH WAS THE RUDEST LADY I HAVE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH IDENTITY AND THEY WOULD! AFTER BEING ESCALATED TO A MANAGER, WE WERE ADVISED THAT UNLESS SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE NEAREST BRANCH, 132 MILES AWAY, AND SHOW 2 FORMS OF ID HER ACCT WOULD REMAIN BLOCKED. AFTER A HUGE ARGUMENT SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THE BANKER THAT WE OPENED ACCOUNT WITH, FLOYD H., COULD VERIFY HER UNBLOCK ACCOUNT. SHE IMMEDIATELY CALLED FLOYD AT 4:30, WHICH LEFT HIM 1 1/2 HOURS TO RETURN HER CALL BEFORE HE LEFT FOR THE DAY SINCE HE WAS WITH A CUSTOMER. HE DID NOT RETURN HER CALL SO NOW I AM STUCK MAKING A TRIP TO EAST TEXAS TO PICK HER UP AND DRIVE HER TO HOUSTON TO DEAL WITH THIS S**T! I FULLY INTEND ON TAKING MY COMPLAINT TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL AND HOPE THAT THE MISINFORMATION AND HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT WE HAVE ENDURED WILL BE DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY! NOW $60, 000 MAY NOT BE A LOT OF MONEY TO SOME BUT TO MY 87 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY!! THEY HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH HER IDENTITY WHEN THEY TOOK HER DEPOSIT BUT THEY ARE REFUSING HER FUNDS AND THAT IS BULLS**T! I AM SO OUTRAGED THAT A BANK WITH A NAME LIKE CHASE CHOOSES TO TREAT NEW CUSTOMERS THE WAY WE HAVE BEEN TREATED. I AM SURE THAT THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE ON PARK AVE IN NY WILL FEEL THE SAME WAY! THE BRANCH MANAGER JUSTICE KENNEDY WAS NO HELP EITHER. BAD WORDS TRAVEL MUCH FASTER THAN GOOD AND I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO MAKE SURE THIS BANK GETS AS MUCH BAD PUBLICITY AS POSSIBLE. SO WITH ALL THAT SAID, IF YOU WANT ACCESS TO THE FUNDS THAT YOU PUT IN YOUR ACCOUNT, DON'T PUT THEM IN CHASE!
