They are so friendly here! They are always really quick. Usually we barely have time to sit down before our dumplings show up. This place is tiny, but has a charming "hole-in-the wall" quality. I'm new to Dallas, and this has become my go-to spot when showing visitors around!

Tampopo has a great selection of a variety of Japanese food. They have a range of bentos, a few curry dishes, a good range or sushi and excellent tempura. They also have some unique dishes that I have not seen at other more typical Japanese food places. It is small on the inside but draws a good sized lunch crowd. The food always comes fresh, hot and yummy. If you are new to Japanese food I would recommend the #1 bento: chicken teriyaki with a California roll, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and a sliver of orange or melon. You can also go more traditional with fresh brewed green tea or red bean or green tea ice cream. They do serve a few varieties of Japanese beer and sake. The atmosphere is quaint, well designed and good for a lunch with a friend, or a dinner date with the significant other. They do take out as well, and offer free wifi. This is one of my favorite places to eat on Greenville. It is a little more expensive, but it makes up for it in the amount of food you get. Look for the green awning that says Tampopo.
