When my 94 year-old Father was falling at home and becoming hard to handle, Park Manor SouthBelt was an answer to prayer. The staff were so supportive to me and our family, but more importantly the kind way they cared for Dad gave us a great sense of comfort and relief. He thoroughly enjoyed their activities and seemed to like the meals very much. The place always looked clean and no unpleasant odors. It's obvious that the staff and management care very much.
Our family gives the highest rating to Park Manor!

My father has lived at Park Manor of South Belt for over 8 years. We are very happy with his care. The staff has been here for years and is very friendly and caring. Nobody is perfect but any concerns I have had were addressed. Communication is the key and make sure if there is a problem you bring it to thier attention as soon as possible. What I see happening is too many new comers expect it to be like the hospital. This is not the hospital. This is my fathers home and I do not like people talking bad about his home.

Pros: home like enviroment, friendly caring staff

Cons: needs more room for activities

This place is one for those without options and basically given up on life. I've seen the disregard for human life at this facility, where a patient has fallen and numerous staff members glance down and continue to go about their business. Where it took a good 10 minutes before help was given and the fallen patient was attended to.
The place is understaffed for the number of patients, apparently a nationwide problem but the staff that is currently employed are novices or rejects of real established facilities. Staff is comprised of clueless, lazy, and outright rude nurses. Pleasant bedside manner is definitely not one of their strong suits but we can add more to the list of what they're not good at.
As I go on further, I feel I'm too harsh in my review but then I consider the horrendous care of my loved one and others around and my blood starts to boil all over again. Entire blame doesn't rest fully on the staff of Park Manor, I also blame the doctor that recommended this atrocious facility. He obviously isn't qualified to have the initials "M.D." if he is referring his patients to a place in essence should have the name "Hospice" attached to the end of Park Manor. But he's an entirely different story that will be told in a different review forum.
In closing, if you want the best possible care for your precious loved ones, consider a closer look and posing questions to family members of current patients. If I had done the previous, I wouldn't be sitting here worried if my loved one will make it today.
