My wife and I ate the location by Lakeline Mall last night and were severely disappointed. We eat at a lot of Asian restaurants and sometimes tend to have high expectations. On to the review:

Pros: The service was good and the fried dumplings and spring rolls were awesome. The restaurant was fairly modern with acceptable furniture and comfort.

Cons: My combination beef/chicken fried rice was as cheap tasting as Panda Express's version. It was editable but nothing I would come back for. My wife's Thai Curry plate lacked flavor and appeal. In fact the only thing it had going for it was that it was hot. There was plenty of heat, but heat without flavor just doesn't work for us. Their hot tea left lots of room to be improved on. The price was also more expensive than we expected for this quality of food.

All in all this is a ok place. We will not return here because in our books it ranks as the McDonalds or Wendys of the Asian food world.

For recommendations we would say (and this is just our opinions)

Upscale: Kobe Steakhouse of Hwy 183 N. It can be very pricey if you don't go during lunch hours but we love the ambiance and the food. They have an excellent selection of sushi for those that like it. All of our chefs have been spectacular performers.

Midscale: Rosie Pho's (either the Cedar Park location or the Round Rock one, personally we love the Round Rock one best.) They have it all here it seems and we have never had a bad dish at either location. From the first time we walked in we were able to ask customers what they thought of the the food and common consensus was it's the best! My wife and I can both get entrees and two appetizers with drinks for under $30 easy. Low price and better food and a larger menu beat Mama Fu's.
Low-Midscale: Firebowl (I say Firebowl because I love their Crab Rangoon and the Ramen bowl my wife loves at Pei Wei is no longer being served. So Firebowl beat out Pei Wei for us) What can I say other than I love their Crab Rangoon. We have never had bad food here either and we have ate at several different locations. All in all we think this is about as fast foody for Asian food as we get.

Oh and how could I forget the China Wall in Round Rock. This is a awesome restaurant with decent pricing. They have excellent ambiance and the Mongolian Beef is to die for. The General Tso's Chicken is excellent also. This is an older restaurant that has been around for at least 17 years in the Round Rock area.

I thought I would like their food because i usually like a stir-fried style of food but it just doesn't taste anything. I ordered a lemon chicken on top of fried rice and veggies, i didn't like it, didn't even finish it. My mom, who usually liked tofu w/ veggies, didn't finished her tofu either. I think my dad was the only one who finished his food and that's because he was so hungry. :(

I manage a downtown bar and always have to rely on delivery. I'm quite aware of delivery not always being the best and freshest. I tried Mama Fu's and it was quite a unpleasant experience. I ordered the hot and sour soup and the spicy general Fu shimp. The soup was a salty dark mire of a taste experience. Hot and sour soup should be a combination of hot and sour, right? The shrimp I ordered was a combination of clumped sugar and fried batter with little flavor to offer. The veggies that came with it were wretched. I actually felt bad for them. How does one actually turn broccoli yellow and still serve it. Yellow, the life cooked right out of it. The veggies tasted prepackaged. The rice was rice. A few positives...The delivery came with a nice assortment of condiments. The delivery guy was friendly and asked if I needed any additional sauce or chopsticks. The lady on the phone was quite nice, knowing that I worked at a near by bar she assured me speedy delivery. For the money I spent, with a nice delivery tip it came to $22.00. Shrimp, rice, soup and tip should not cost $22. For that I could have walked to the downtown "irish bar" had a burger fries AND a beer!

The food is fine here, but seems like fast food. I liked the lettuce wraps, but other than that, I wasn't really impressed. The prices were reasonable, but I rather spend more and get better quality food.

Pros: the service, food and location

Cons: none what so ever

We tried Mama Fu's after a friend raved about it. The food is always great and the service is too. This location at Southpark Meadows is in the Grove section of the development, so there is a huge playscape right off the patio. We like to go on Saturday nights for the live music. So nice to sit on the patio, enjoy some wine and good music, while the kids run like crazy on the playscape and play in the water fountain. My husband works nearby and goes there for lunch too. At lunch you can order food from the counter so that you get it super quick. If you haven't tried Mama Fu's yet, put it on your short list of the next place to visit!

We went to Mama Fu's in the Southpark Meadows shopping center after passing by on the way home. We had never been before and thought we would give it a try. We had one of the best dining experiences ever!! The waitress, Missy (I think) was wonderful. She took time to walk us through the menu and offered some recommendations that my wife and I agreed upon. My wife had the Spicy General Fu with shrimp and it was superb! My dish was with red curry and chicken. The vegetabes were very fresh and it was extremely good. We were also impressed to see the general manager, I dont know his name but he is huge, walking to each table and greeting each guest and actually making conversation... not just the usual "how is everything?". We will be going back often to try new dishes. Bravo Mama Fus!!
