I took my family to eat at Patsy's to eat based on the reputation of Ester's follies, big mistake. When we were seated they tossed two filthy high chairs my direction for my kids. I could literally tell what the last kid had to eat that sat in them. I complained and she pulled a dirty towel out of her aporn and kinda wiped it down, I went back over it with a napkin. Then we sat down, and waited, and waited and waited. It was over 25 minutes before anyone even asked us what we wanted to drink, another 15 minutes before a glass of water made it to the table. we ordered our food and it came out in about 15 minutes, not bad. The restaurant was far from busy or crowded, my family was just being iqnored. We never got drink refills, I had to hunt the waitress down to pay the bill, just not a good time. I'm a server, I understand being really busy, I understand that things happen, this was just bad service. The food is good, and the playground outside would be neat for older kids. I will always be faithful to ester's follies, but Patsy's needs some work.

Pros: good food, free live music

Cons: bad service, dirty tables

I have become a repeat patron of Patsy's and would like to defend her honor and excert the energy on a very satisfied review.
As i said, i have been to Patsy's more than a handful of times in the last year, more often recently because it seems as if they've really got their "ingredients" for success down. They have finalized their menu (finally, it kept changing every time i went in), got a core group of solid servers, some of whom have been there since the beginning i think, and from what i understand, now have a kitchen staff that understands the concept of consistency.
In all fairness there have been visits that were less stellar than others, service was lacking, but bless her heart she explained why and apologized and did what she could to make us happy. When a restaurant that size serves that many people, and has them out the door before their 30 minute break is up... someone is bound to accidentally get mayo on their burger. give them a break and get a flippin napkin and wipe it off.
Anyway, just thought someone should say something nice about ol' Patsy. She's done me right, provided a great place for me to take out-of-towners, meet pals for lunch or even the dinner date (just go early enough to get talking in before the music starts, it's kinda loud, but always enjoyable!).

Patsy's is around the corner from where I work. A lot of us at work who were once excited about a new place to eat are now looking again or driving farther for a place to eat.

The first time I went to Patsy's was after an inventory in July. We popped in for some beers and some appetizers. The beers were quick and cold and so was the queso! It was some kind of velveeta queso that was cold and hard. The waitress took it back and I guess zapped it but it was just unedible. The second visit I had the John Kelso burger and it was great; that was in early October. The green chilis and melted cheese made for a good burger. I told people about it.

I went in yesterday for a burger and asked that it be dry: no mayo. A simple request. The waitress gave our order to the table next to us and I wonder if that first burger was the correct one. When she brought out our burgers mine was wrong. I hate mayo and that is why I asked for it to be dry. When the waitress came by 5 minutes later to check on us I reported the error and she apologized and went to the kitchen. She came back very quickly with my old burger and a new dry bun but the burger was wet with the mayo. I am a picky eater and I have accepted the fact that sometimes it takes two attempts to get it right.

As concerned as the waitress was the kitchen could care less what the patron wants. And when you look at it: all they do is prepare food. It's what they do. They aren't putting a man on the moon.

I mentioned this incident to co-workers yesterday and 5 of them said they just stopped going.

If you aren't picky and want to eat what the kitchen prepares instead of what you ordered then Patsy's is your place. Plus it isn't close to anything; not worth the drive.
