Like any new restaurant, it takes time to work on some of the operational kinks. In this particular example, there are two areas that stick out.. Continuity of Service and Mastery of the Basic Sauce.. The young wait staff at Tutto do an okay job at managing table service, however its the attention to detail and that extra mile where they lack. A fine example is keep the drink filled and ensuring there are enough utensils and plates for all the guests.. These are minor and overly critical points that with time, I am sure the management team can address.. but for large parties (ie.. families here in Steiner) its an inconvenience for sure. The second area of concern is with their marinara and bolognese sauces.. to keep it simple, it lacks taste. In the middle of summer, fresh tomatos and fine herbs should be quite accessible, yet their sauces could have come from a del monte can as far as I am concerned.. The death of any Italian shop is the inability to make a basic sauce, for this, they will need considerable work. My last critic is the portion size, I would describe it as adequate but on the negative end of the value chain.. (avoid the panini's at all cost)
In closing, this location and the ambience are fantastic. This is a great place for families, with the playground for the kiddies.. As a neighborhood shop it meets all the very basic essential. I have high hopes for this place, here's to hoping they put in the elbow grease to refine the quality of food and invest in additional training for all their staff.
