I've only been here once and the food was good and server was very attentive. I would definitely recommend a friend to Crazy Cajun.

My buddy and I went there to watch the game and have some seafood. The server didn't know the menu. The manager was brought in to process our order. We ordered from the expensive side of the menu: fish from the sea with citrus grilled

I have tried crawfish all over New Orleans and now Houston and I have to give props to this place. Its the best crawfish i've ever had. I tried both the original and its 'sensation' flavors and love them both (although i prefer the orignial just a tad more, the sensation comes a close second). My girlfriend had the blackend tilapia with ponchatrain sauce and she was utterly impressed. My friends also shared a fried seafood platter and the consensus was that the food there is very good. A jewel of a find. The only complaint I have is that the service was a bit slow...I thnk our server was new on the job and that's ok because she appeared to be trying hard. Overall, I was very happy and definitely will be back!

As others have said it does look really nice inside but thats about the only thing I could say. First time ever there on 12/31/2009 and 12:36PM for lunch with 3 other gentlemen. The waitress was asked to return after taking drink orders, we had to wave her down about 10 minutes later while she sat with another employee on the other side of the restaurant. Food gets there and its hot(temp) but in no way, form, or fashion was it CAJUN. The Pepsi did not disappoint. There were not many people in on this day. The waitress was not tending to others, maybe one other table. The 4 patrons at the bar had the other waitress who constantly checked on them. Ran outta catchup and had to wave down the resting waitress again. My receipt says her name is Jenny. I was having lunch with "foodlover85" and he's not lying. He first sent the 'gunkbo' back because it was cold. They heated it up. He tried adding hot sauce but was still dissatisfied. HE DID NOT EAT THE GUNKBO. He didn't like it and when we finally saw the waitress again which was at the end of our meals, he asked that she remove it from his receipt. She clears the table and discards of the food, sends the "owner" out and he says 'my waitress said you ate it', like she's incapable of a lie. He never saw for himself. He says he can't do anything about it. He'd rather us leave and warn others than take a $5 dollar item off the receipt. "THE OWNER" will learn.

FYI Crazy Cajun - You can't sprinkle Tony Chachere's on some french fries and call your food CAJUN...Unless of course your service is really good and you don't argue with a customer over 5 bucks about something you didn't see for yourself.

Pros: Plasmas showing sports

Cons: Poor Service and no Cajun

Atmosphere is ok. A few TVs with different sporting events. The crawfish po boy was ok. The chicken, sausage, shrimp gumbo was HORRIBLE! The chicken was dry and the stock was terrible. I had a bite, tried to doctor it up with some hot sauce...that did not help. I told the waitress I did not like it. When it showed up on my bill, I ask her to take it off. She said she would ask the manager. A man came out with my card and bill, asked me what was wrong with the food, and accused me of eating all of the gumbo. I told him I did not eat it all and that the gumbo did not taste good. (Another gentleman at my table ordered gumbo and did not like his either, but at it anyway). He argued with me and determined there was nothing he could do. I said "That's fine, I won't be back", to which he replied, "good". I asked if he owned the restaurant and he said, "yes". If you want ok food, yucky gumbo, slow service and management who doesn't care about serving their customer, and is not smart enough to realize he stands to make him more money by taking $5 off a dissatisfied customer's bill than insulting him...Crazy Cajun is the place for you.

My fiance and I come to here together 4 times in the last 3 months and I've been a customer for awhile until now.
The crawfishes are undercook most of the time. My fiance and I got sicked after eating the crawfishes here the last two time. I told the server that it was under cook. She brought it back to "recook" it, but they forgot to reseason them. Taste like $h1t. Many of the crawfishes are not fresh and it taste so gross.
This used to be my favorite place to eat crawfish two years ago when it was one of the best places ever. I would tell all my buddies and family members to come. now i tell them to not go there.
services is a joke here. All the waitress does is bring you the drink and the food and won't come back for refills or other needs. They'll come back when it's time for you to go. I still tips great regardless.
The place smell weird now too. It has a foul odor right when you enter the door. I might come back here in a year or so to see if it has change. my fiance on the other hand will never come back here after being sick the last two time after eating it. she even threw up right when we walked out the door. Boiling crab or home cook is the way to go.

Pros: a lot of seasonings

Cons: way under cook, wait staff is useless. not really fresh.

Pros: best crawfish ever!

Cons: its far put one closer south!

.

The crawfish are not spicy at all. They have a buttery flavor and if you ask for extra spices they bring a seasoning to the table that smells like it belongs on the bbq pit on some smoked meat. Will not be back . The place has a serious foul sewage odor as well, and a filthy curtain hanging in front of the kitchen door. If Marvin were alive he'd have a field day in this restaurant.

My mother and stepfather always went to this restaurant and liked it. I finally tried it about a month ago 7/2008. I had a bowl of gumbo, it was tasty but could have been more filling, should have had bigger and more chuncks of food. My 6 yr. old daughter had the chicken tenders, which were very tender. However for my almost 9 yr. old niece it was not enough food. My husband ordered the wings, which were excellent, they were cirspy on the outside and very tender on the inside. He got a full plate of wings and fries, for about $10! I would also try the fried shrimp, another good buy! One thing I suggest you do not buy, is the fired alligator appetizer. It was like $7, for a little bitty portion, not worth it! thought the service was a little slow, which included the waitress and how long it took the food to come out. However, that was my first visit and only one person we had to deal with. I love the location and prices, I am going back this next weekend!

Yesterday was my first visit to Crazy Cajun on NW Fwy. My cajun husband was on a hunting trip, so I decided to get a ?to go? order, and see how cajun this place really is.

I entered, and waited briefly at the door for a host/hostess ... NONE.

I looked around and noticed very few customers, but wasn't worried, because it was an odd hour for a meal (about 2:45 p.m.). I approached the bar, and asked for a menu so that I could place my ?to go? order. I sat at the bar for almost half an hour while I waited for my order, and was not offered anything, not even water.
Wow! That guaranteed that no tip would be left!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think I'll recommend this place to anyone, nor will I go back ... $25 spent and I feel duped.

pros: very good blackened Tilapia with ponchartrain sauce

cons:
seafood gumbo was sorely disappointing, and had very little flavor, or solid matter. The crawfish were teensy tinesy and rubbery, and there was only about one ounce of meat, the rest was a bland dark soupy liquid ... a very poor imitation of gumbo! Good grief, their seafood gumbo costs $5.25 for a cup ($1-$1.69 more than their other gumbos).

The dirty rice under the fillet was tasty, but in a salty bouillon kind of way.

The dipping sauce for the fried onion/jalapeno appetizer had NO cajun flavor and tasted like a mix of mayo, celery salt, and catsup. No cajun spices seemed to be available in shakers.

The salad was very UGLY- looked like it had been boxed 4 days ago, with lots of very browned edges - ewwww!

Hey, Crazy Cajun ... there are lots of ways to add flavor to food without resorting to so much salt!

I think this place is great. It very close to my house, so I don't have to deal with the traffic going all the way to the Galleria or downtown to have great food. The prices are amazing for the quality of food. It's like having upscale food for fast food prices. I am a huge sports fan, so I love the fact that I can watch the game while I'm there. The atmosphere is nice, overall just a nice, under-rated restaurant!

My bad experience with CRAZY CAJUN at 13280 Northwest Frwy in Houston TX there number is 713-690-5580. Date: Sunday April 15 2007 @ 8:15 PM. I walked in, and there was trash all over the tables and floors, it looks as if trash was left there from the morning...It was only three customers there and about five workers that I could see. One of the workers was walking around with her baby and pointing out the running water on the glass wall. I asked the "worker" lady with the baby were was the Manager and she said she was the Manager. I asked her do she mind cleaning up the place and she said just have a seat and someone would be out to clean it. I told her it was too filthy and dirty to sit down. I asked her would she mind cleaning it, because I would like to order my food, she had a big problem with that. So, some one finally decided to come out and clean. It was not just one table it was the hold area. The young lady that came to clean she was cleaning very slowly, as if she did not want to be there and with a bad attitude. So, I decided not to eat there I went down the street and had a burger. I call the next morning to inform who ever was in charge. In which it was Jessica. I told her I call to make a complaint. Jessica with attitude would not give me the number to call anyone in upper Management. She flat out refused. So with this writing I hope Crazy Cajun upper Management someone that is higher than Jessica that cares read this. I was not impressed with Jessica are the unclean restaurant in any way. The food board needs to visit Crazy Cajun on 13280 Northwest Frwy in Houston, TX 77040.

We are now regulars at this place. I love that they have crawfish year round. The boiled crab legs are also excellent. However I get disgusted with them on a regular basis because they are always sold out of crawfish. Of my 4-5 times being there only 2 of them have included having crawfish. The seafood could be fresher, as I consider myself a seafood connoisseur. I know it is a sports bar but the noise is a problem. Overall I like the food and keep coming back though.

AMAZING! Great food, Great service, Great location. My husband & I have eaten there many times and tried many different menu selections from the fried seafood to grilled seafood and almost everything in between! Everything has been wonderful. The portions are hugh and the flavor is excellent. I have never had boiled crawfish seasoned like this! They are so easy to get to...right off the NW freeway and easy to get back on. It's amazing that the prices are so moderate. They have this delicious shrimp appetizer...wrapped in bacon, jalapeno pepper, cheese and it comes with a garlic/ginger sauce (homemade!). Fast refills on drinks and TONS of those big screen TV's so we don't miss anything when we eat out. Whenever we want a good meal..whether it's fish or steak...we go to Crazy Cajun. A great place to take a customer or have a family gathering. Go in and ask for the owner - Kevin Tran...get his recommendations for the best meal you'll ever have.

They have excellent & fresh seafood. They are kind and try to make sure you are pleased with their food and service. They are family owned and operated and bring in their own seafood from their boat.

I have brought people from all over Houston to eat here. They drive here just to eat. I have even brought in a sous chef from a very well known restaurant here in Houston and he said it is a hidden gem.
