In Short
This sleek club experience starts with a quick "lift" ride up to the second floor, enhancing the exclusive feel of this comfortable Uptown ultra-lounge. Smooth see-and-be-seen trend setters hover about the the long, contoured bar with an intrepid mix of orange with earth tones behind it. Too important for the main area, small groups retreat to one of a number of semi-private cabanas that are cordoned off with thin, cascading veils.

Key Points

  • LIFT now open Tues-Sat, 8PM-2AM
  • Best Club in Dallas on Saturday Night.
  • #1 Bottle Service in Dallas

The Inside Scoop

  1. Where to Sit - For the utra important, two VIP tables occupy the prime space adjacent to the DJ booth.
  2. When to Go - Special DJ acts spin on Tuesday nights while a regular rotation works the rest of the week.
  3. The Extras - LIFT Lounge is always open for a special event or party, any day of the week.

Wow!! My favorite Club!

by cole18

Several of friends had been talking about lift so I finally decided to go.....VERY VERY glad i did. This place is beautiful! The crowd was such a nice change as it wasn't your typical "Dallas" club crowd. It was down to earth and everyone seemed set on having a great time instead of showing off their ego. Bar staff was awesome, DJ was amazing. My girl got a different drink based on the bars recommendation every time and loved them all. My drinks were strong and although it was very busy we never waited. If you haven't been yet then your missing out!

Pros: Beautiful place/Great Staff

Cons: None

Don't miss out on a fun night out!

by abhatt714

This is the place to go if you're looking for a fun night out of drinking and dancing to hip hop. I've never had a bad experience taking my friends from out of town here for a great clubbing experience in Dallas. If you're up for a fun night with fun people check out LIFT!

Pros: Great DJs, Great bartenders, Doormen are classy

Cons: Too many good looking people lol!!!

Great experience; Doorman very unprofessional

by JohnHank

Doorman CLEARLY rude, possibly mentally challenged, I could go on and on about how dumb this guy was. However, in a nut shell, this doorman NEEDS to be fired! Please hire a doorman with at LEAST a high school education who can read ID's and one who doesn't cuss at customers unprovoked. If you have to talk to this guy, you have to talk VERY slowly. Doorman is a complete idiot and moron. However, once inside GREAT atmosphere...DJ Santiago ROCKS!

Pros: Great atmosphere inside

Cons: Doorman--unprofessional

Awesome Dallas Bar / Lounge

by samwc1

I had the most amazing time. Met some friends for some drinks. The plan was to bar hop but we ended up staying there all night. The bar staff were really cool and fun. I will most definately be back soon.

Moron Doorman

by fuckliftbouncer

I went down to the lift this past weekend with my friends who had been there before and they were praising this place. We were greeted by this huge guy with tiny brain who just asked us if we had a table reservation and that they were not accepting anybody without reservation that night. Which I would say is totally BS. Night club on saturday night!! Doorman if you'd just say "you can't get in coz I'm a raci**", then I'd understand. Moron!

Pros: None

Cons: Doorman

Clublife dying in Dallas...

by jwittt1284

So everyone knows the terrible economy is hard on everyone. The club scene has certainly been affected, even in Dallas which is supposed to be in better shape than most other cities. Everywhere i have gone recently, the vibe is not there.....tables are empty...people drink at home and arrive late to the club - most of my friends perfer bars over clubs now because of the cost...However, I recently revisited Lift and my woes are cured! A.)$5 valet (compared to $10 or $12 usually) (B.) No cover! (C)$5 drinks before 11:00, and (D.) Half priced bottle service - are you kidding me?!! Finally a club that figured it out...and everyone else figured it our too...it was packed and my friends say its always like that. My only advice is to arrive early unless you thoroughly enjoy waiting in line!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Cant get in if you arrive too late

Has lots of potential...

by ben31

Went on a Saturday in Nov. 09 as the staff was very friendly. Loved the house music as so many other upscale venues including even Suite have resorted to predominantly Top 40s tracks. Great decor, lighting, and interior design but there are way too many "reserved" tables that were unoccupied throughout the night. Had to leave early that night for a prior commitment, but will definitely be back on a more crowded Saturday evening.

Pros: Great overall atmosphere with solid tracks on Sat night

Cons: Too many unoccupied "reserved" tables, heard Fridays were primarily top 40s

Pleasantly suprised

by highroll1

I hadn't been to LIFT in quite a while, and I was quite impressed with all the changes. The bartender confirmed my suspicions that they have recently moved around some furniture and added a few club lights to the place. It seems that more open space has been created and, because of it, it was easier to get to and from the bar than last time. The party was not confined to the VIP area - by 12:30 the whole place was jumppin and the DJ brought a ton of energy. It seems that while most of the clubs in Dallas have been sparse whenever I have gone looking for a party; the party has been at Lift all along. I'm definitely getting a table on my birthday - 1/2 price bottles - hell yeah!

Fantastic upscale club

by tigerusmc

I wasn't sure what to expect reading the reviews, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise. I drove up and used their valet service. Parking around the area is not easy to find, so the $5 valet charge was an inexpensive and convenient service. When you walk into the building, you walk into the lobby and wait for the elevator where the tasteful music and decor really builds your anticipation. When you get off of the elevator, you are greeted by the hostesses, no cover charge, and go to the bar. I got there about 9:50 on a Saturday night, where they had a singles event. I was afraid that it wouldn't have many people in there that early, but there was a fair amount of people, and as some of the other reviews said, there were more women than men, who weren't afraid to mingle! The DJ did some interesting mixes and mash-ups, and the dance floor was full. Everyone was friendly, seemed like a more professional crowd, and there was a nice variety of attractive people; people came there to impress, and were dressed as such. The bathrooms were clean and easy to get to, and no attendant, which is a plus for me; I always feel guilty for not leaving a tip when I wash my hands. The only drawback is that a good half of the club is private/VIP booths, which seemed a little excessive. I think if they reduce the number of these private booths/tables, would cut down on the congestion around the bar area and dance floor. I know a couple of ladies I was talking to, wanted to sit down for a minute, but all the tables were reserved and empty. The crowd seemed to be mid-20's to mid-30's professional, which is what I am, and what I was looking for. The drinks are average priced for a bar/club on Saturday night; $8-12 for a house vodka and tonic is what I peg as average, and theirs is $8. Was $10 for Grey Goose. Overall, excellent atmosphere and experience and I will be going back again soon!

Pros: Atmosphere, plenty of singles, mid-20's to mid-30's

Cons: Too many reserved booths/tables, crowded around the bar area

He love hot men too!

by yogieo

Thanks for the compliment. I am female and appreciate that you think my friends and I are hot! We frequent Dallas Lift club because it?s smaller, tasteful and the men there seem to be interested in more than a hemline ( not that we aren?t wearing them to attract you ) . It?s refreshing to have a club in Downtown that is known for good conversation, service and ?view?. Come on in and say hello ladies, and we will know where you found out about Lift! 

Pros: I checked value because in this club you get what you pay for!

Cons: none

The ladies were everywhere!!!

by treybry2

I couldn't believe it......how often is it when you walk in the club with 4 of your best guys, looking for a little oppisite gender interaction of course....and you get off the elevator and turn the corner and the whole dance floor is chalk full of beautiful women - I love Dallas! I asked the bartender what the deal was and he told me it was just a normal Saturday night. Apparently all the hot women in Dallas show up at Lift before midnight on Saturdays - and the guys haven't figured this out - so this is a message to all my lonely boys out there - can't say I didn't tell ya! I'll be there again this week playing the odds. My bank account can't handle every weekend night in the club so i have to choose wisely - and I believe i am!

Pros: Beautiful Ladies Everywhere

Cons: lounge priced drinks

Don't waste your time, or money!

by annonymouslyspeaking

Well, I go there with a friend the other night, she insisted it was "the hottest club" right now. We get there, it's tiny, for one thing-their website photos made it seem HUGE! Ok, no big deal, get a drink. The bartender(s) were rude, my drink was not even drinkable, and ridiculously priced-especially when they charge you $75, regardless if you only spent of small fraction of that. The crowd was weird, and kind of uptight. I will not be going back, and I'm sorry I wasted a precious weekend night there..... and by the way, it seems as though too many men have read the previous reviews, because it was ALL MEN!

Pros: I didn't have to stay very long

Cons: everything

fine, but,...

by notyetphd

I came from Houston, it is hard not to compare the #1 here and #1 there. For me, lift is good enough, but I still like Scott Gertner's sky bar more. I enjoy 3 hr non-stop dancing in Lift, although music was not my type. DJ was good. But, but, but, there was a lady at the 2nd floor entrance charged me $10 on the yesterday (Thurs). From what I heard, there is never cover-charge. There has to be something wrong. It feels good when lots of people enjoy dancing with me/watching me dancing there. As matter of fact, I probbaly was the most pupular dancer during that night. But I probbaly won't be back unless I know the "no-cover-charge" is the typo from citydearch, or lift has chnage it rules

Great Place to Chill.......

by Kennie32

I have been trying to find a nice place to go on a Friday or Saturday night to just chill, have some drinks and hear some great music. I decided to go to Lift, but on a Thursday night. The atmosphere was great! Nice lounge with very comfortable seating and more importantly, the staff was nice and very accomodating. The only issue I had was the hold on your card for $75. I purchased 2 drinks and used my debit card. The next day I checked my account, as I always do, and there was a hold from Lift. I called Lift and the owner, Kim, was so gracious to call me back and advise me that the hold is mandatory and that it should be off my card no later than Monday. It was actually off my card by Saturday morning. I appreciated him calling me back and I advised him I did not have a problem with the hold, just wished that I was advised in advance. Other than that, my experience there was great! I plan on going on a Friday night for my sister's birthday and have bottle service! I truly recommend this place!

Pros: Great Ambience, good drinks, great customer service, good music, beautiful people

Cons: If you use your card for drinks at the bar, there will be a $75 hold.

Age gap???? Must be the guy trying to get in with an issue

by wolfevideo

Sorry , guys, but I HAD to write this in response to the info below. They have a 21 ( drinking age) age requirement. This review below is a little jilted. Consider the source is all I can say. I go to lift, and I know the owner. It is 21 and up. Perhaps he was too young to drink? This is a very classy place, and weather you make 30k a year or more, it's how you act that gets you respect and in the door at this location. If you are 21 or over this may be a fun place for you too.

Pros: Great service and great group of patrons

Cons: limited space so not everyone that wants to get in can.

Age Gap Rule is Ridiculous

by RustyPShackleford

I am an Uptown regular at a number of clubs and bars. My little brother from Silicon Valley was in town for the evening and we were looking to go out hardcore. We started talking to some very attractive women and around midnight they said they were splitting for LIFT. I'd never been there before so naturally we follow them. I'm 28, my little brother is 24. We show up to this place with 4 women and they won't let my little brother in because he isn't 26. I scan the line for this place and it is chock full of $30,000 dollar millionaires dudes. My brother is self-made wealthy tech entrepreneur, hell,...he makes well north of 7 figures a year. If these $30,000 dollar milllionaires can get in, but my brother, the Silicon Valley Millionaire can't. What the hell kind of a policy is that? The age gap rule is stupid because it has little to do with exclusivity. All it does is ensure that creepy $30,000 millionaire dudes will be hitting on some very good looking younger women. I'll probably go back to LIFT again simply because of the female population there, but they need to seriously reconsider the age policy and give the door person the authority to make exceptions. I know that is kind of flimsy and could lead to disagreements, fights, etc. But that is why God created bouncers. If this place really wanted to VIP...they would rise above such a petty policy and screen their clientele the way the club Gods intended, by $$$, beauty, and style.

*****UPDATE*****

Apparently this policy was recently changed. Kudos to LIFT for coming to their senses. Now just start discriminating more at the door!

Pros: Girls, Atmosphere

Cons: $30,000 dollar millionaires!

Good place to go for a group

by DallasGirl8

This is almost the ideal place for a group of friends to just get together, talk, drink and enjoy. It's actually hard to find all of those qualities in a lounge or bar. I went two weeks ago on a Saturday with eight or nine friends and had a great time. We had reserved a table so the service was great (even better than other places with table service). The music was a little older for my taste but I have some friends that are in their mid to late 30s and they loved it. I wouldn't recommend this place for people looking to dance because there really isn't the room for it even though I'm sure many have tried. All in all, even though we were there a while after 2am, the staff was still great (could have been the couple thousand dollar bar tab) (you know you're an alcoholic when...).

Pros: Great drinks, great service, relaxed atmosphere

Cons: not the place to go for dancing (it is a true lounge)

DJ Scene last Friday night was great!

by Amazingblonde

We were in town for business and just happen to find Lift through the CitySearch website, what a great time. The DJ was from San Francisco and he was one of the best I have heard. The atmosphere, service and drinks were the best we have experienced anywhere lately in the country. What a great place to dance and unwind for an evening.

Highly recommended!

Pros: Non Smoking, Great looking people.

Cons: None

Good music & good staff but...

by theomar3

Ok I wasn't aware of this men gotta be 25 or 26+ gender gap since...well since no other place does that lame sh!t. I'm 22 btw.
BUT!! I still got in on a Saturday night. As I said I wasn't aware of this age restriction UNTIL I got inside the club and was doing my talking to girls and 4 girls were like, "How did you get in??" and I was like, "What you talking about? I'm not freaking 18." Then they told me about the age restriction but obviously I was in and that's all that counted.

Now onto the review.
The music was good EXCEPT the D.J. repeated songs and that's a big no-no for DJs. You cannot repeat songs!! So obviously he didn't have enough music at his repertoire so that was kinda lame.

The staff is nice though, I forgot my jacket, hat, and scarf at coat check and on my way out the manager dude ran after me to give it back which I thought was very nice of him.

The people in there are cool but then again I was there for a friends birthday. It did look like it's usual gold-digging women though especially because of the age gap for men and women; one can only assume that is the case. Bunch of old 30 year old guys trying to pick up 21 year old girls or even the other way around, haha.

But ya, overall not a bad place; no cover btw.

And for those who are real uptight about racism or whatever, there wasn't any at all....it's a mixed crowd and I'm not white; I didn't receive any racism.

Pros: good service, decent music, no cover

Cons: shady age limits for guys, repeated music

The most fun ever!

by wendyyork

I went here the other night and had the best time! It's so nice that they have a lounge with a select group in Dallas that aren't just about money! They are selective, but more on the type of clientele if you get my drift. Some of these ' exclusive ' clubs only care about what you have , not how you behave. This was a first class place all the way! I highly recommend the Bottle service! Great dancing, music, service and an abundance of good looking singles !

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing

Great Lounge in Uptown / Best Music

by brocksite

Visited the Lift last Thursday and had a great time. Not only did my girlfriends and dance all night to a cool DJ, but the champagne was free all night for the girls. I heard this DJ came from a club downtown and he has definitely got it going on. The atmosphere is the best lounge I have seen in a long time, reminded us of a place in New York we used to visit.

Pros: Great Music

Cons: Only place like it in Dallas

Another Dallas "lounge"

by missdallas08

I had a pretty interesting experience with Lift.. I was with a group of friends celebrating numerous occasions, so we decided to get a table at Lift since we had all heard it was a place that needed to be checked out. My group is a pretty easy-going group and we just like to relax, enjoy the fun crowds and party. We arrived at Lift and had to wait outside for a while, but it was supposed to be packed inside, so waiting was "part of the experience." We were taken up a lush and gorgeous elevator and dropped off in an amazingly decorated bar. This place is immaculately decorated and the owner obviously pays close attention to detail. But surrounding is only part of what creates a great evening, service is the other. And service... well.. it was lacking. From the time we walked in, to the time we actually got our bottle and cocktails poured was just way too big of a time gap. I could understand if the place was packed, but it very much was not. There seemed to be mass confusion amongst the staff and our cocktail waitress was obviously already a little "stewed" and had started celebrating her night before us! We like to sit back and have fun, but with this staff it was always something. From the waitress not being able to function and not knowing what kind of gin was offered, to an over-bearing hostess that was trying to shove anything from a VIP Membership, no thanks, or a corporate party down my throat.. to the waitress not informing me of the 20% gratuity that was already added on the tab. It just seemed like I was an object with money rather than someone ready to enjoy a fun night with my freinds. So try the place out, skip the bottle service and let me know what you think!

Saturday Night adventures

by russellknowsbest

So, I decide that I'm going to take the reviews and go to LIFT and check out the "Ladies Lounge". Going early to skip the line, I figured I was the first one there at 10. As I come off the elevator I see the smiling female staff in a singsong unison, "Hi and welcome", if that isn't reason alone, I round the corner and there is almost 40 women tearing it up on the dance floor! They weren't even your usual bachlorette party! As I join the 3 guys in the place to happily watch from the bar area, we all looked at each other a bit bewildered. As 2 hotties come to pay out their tab, I hear the bartender ask why they are leaving, there comment was to many girls and not enough men! As the night when on the ratio started to balance out, but it is still one of the best ratios I've seen. So, there you have it, as your local bar prowler for the last 5 years, I would have to say, I will be back, with a VIP table, as that is where the real action is and so all those hot ladies have a place to rest their feet! Until next time...

Pros: Good looking, personable staff, and sultry relaxed ambience. Service Great!

Cons: Stairs to exit

by calgal4u2

I know this sounds funny coming from a 'gal' but I have NEVER seen so many beautiful women in one place before! I am not kidding! They were draped gacefully across these low slung couches and bathed in the soft lighting in this amazing new bar. If you are a guy, you should come early becaues their are plenty to choose from! Dance and Lounge with the 'beautiful' people in Dallas. Wow.

DJ was good, but not my type of crowd.

by tanialazarus

Wait was forty-five minutes. Service was very slow.
The people watching was incredible. Basically the crowd consisted of middle aged men accompanied my surgically enhanced box-blondes. Or middle aged women (seriously...my mother's age) dancing around with hot twenty-something guys...
Music was GREAT though.
I have to say that I haven;t been back since and hopefully that was only an opening-night thing.

Pros: MUSIC, DANCEFLOOR

Cons: PRICE, SERVICE, PARKING, COVER, LINES

by magpie42

Excellent experience! This place will probably not be appreciated for what it is -- amazing atmosphere (classy yet happening!); awesome music and DJ's; the bartenders know how to pour a drink and cocktail servers kept our table well stocked. Great looking crowd (the 26 and up for guys is a great idea!). Very nice establishment that allows for a rockin' time! I'll be back again and again.

Pros: Non smoking; no waiting for the lift up b/c there is a designated exit

Cons: none

The place to be for a reason

by nasmith

Attended a birthday party here recently and it was a great time. Very personalized service from start to finish. The hostess is a nice touch and our waitress seemed genuinely interested that we stay satisfied. (Hard to find nowadays in Dallas). They even had a birthday cupcake for our "man of honor"! Kind of crowded around the tables but I guess that is to be expected. No question we'll be back.

Pros: Music, Service

Cons: Crowded

Cross if off the list

by dallaspeaches

The service at this swanky new lounge was terrible. The (front) door guys were extremely rude even though we had a table and the waitress at our table once we got in was all but nonexistant, except, of course, to deliver our bill. (Not her best option.) The crowd was typical for this type of lounge in Dallas (think ridiculously short dresses, untucked button downs, and a smattering of escorts and Johns) and the music was only so-so, at least until it turned awful as it neared closing time. The club itself was nicely furnished and actually had a dance floor even if it was small. Overall, you may want to visit this place to say you've been there, done that, but you will likely quickly move on.

Pros: Good location

Cons: Terrible service

Finally someone took the bottle service to the top. These guys made a statement in every way last week during the opening. Great atmosphere, Great Crowd and incredible music. Dallas has a lounge that can put it on the "A List" for world class lounges. The 25 and under keeps the crowd fresh and mature, and the non-smoking is great. I can't wait to go back.
