I stopped in this place because it was new and I want to try it. The place was clean and they got my "designed" salad that I order to me fairly quick. And although it did taste good, there are a few problems. Firstly, the leafy greens was wilted and about 10% of it was black and rotted. Secondly, I order chicken with it but they only gave me about 3 McDonald's McNugget size-worth. Thirdly, they forget one of the 4 ingredients I asked for -- I've heard this seems to be a re-occuring problem with this place.

Maybe it's because they are new, but they need to do a little better.

I just happened to stumble across Tossed on my way home from Kroger in the same Parkway Village Shopping Center. I stopped in to get something to go, and they recommended the SW Blackened Chicken Salad. That was the best salad I have ever had anywhere- fresh, spicey, full of chicken, avocado, black bean corn salsa. Since then I have been to Tossed at least twice a week and sometimes order online and take it home after work. You can't beat the prices either - $8-$9 for a HUGE salad or GREAT sandwiches on ciabatta bread. The soups are also really good and wholesome.

I have been dining at Tossed on a weekly basis for around three months now. I was brought there by a friend who convinced me it was better than the pizza I had planned. I have never been more of a salad fan in my life! I usually order the Apple Walnut salad or the Turkey Cheddar Crepe. The salad has a mix of romaine, roasted chicken, golden raisins, blue cheese and, of course, apples. The staff quickly whips it all up and will even mix in your dressing. They don't pre-make anything so if you want to change something, they easily accommodate your request. The crepes are a whole wheat wrap, but lighter than a tortilla and contain, basically, a salad. Everything is done out in the open for you to watch and enjoy. Everything is fresh and crisp, they make their own dressings (around 20 of them), not to mention the huge cookies. I usually eat there around noon, which seems to be their busy time. Seating is usually available but the inside does get a little loud. They do have a nice patio with umbrellas that is an option on a sunny day. I highly recommend Tossed if your are in the area.

My husband and I meet at Tossed at least once a week in the afternoon just to enjoy their delicious dessert crepes. I don't know of anything like them in Houston. My favorite is the big chocolate which is a melted chocolate bar wrapped in a sweet crepe This is topped with a brownie and ice cream with chocolate drizzled on the top. My husband usually gets the nutella crepe which is the same dessert crepe filled with nutella and served with bananas and whipped cream. They also have a great fresh fruit crepe. We love relaxing on the patio under the umbrellas and watching the traffic go by.

Pros: Salads are HUGE and the Freshest I have ever had

Cons: Dining inside is a little noisy; umbrellas and tables outside are great

I was excited to find a new salad place near work, since one of my old favorites is no longer open (Fry's - they had the BEST salads!). So I wanted to find a replacement. I Googled "Good salads Houston, TX" and right away came across this place in close proximity to the office. The online menu looked pretty enticing and interesting, and I was so looking forward to an exceptional salad. However, I regret to report that I was sorely disappointed in the Chopped BBQ Chicken Salad. The slogan should be "Where's the chicken?!" Seriously, there were only about 5-6 tiny little hints of chicken lost in the abundance of lettuce, that I had to spelunk pretty hard to find. I wasn't aware there was a chicken shortage! The dressing was unremarkable, as well. Granted, the lettuce was nice and fresh, thank goodness, since that was 90% of the salad. But my tastebuds were really anticipating a better ratiio of yummy components. Too bad.

I'm not a huge salad guy, but I recently tagged along with a few co-workers to this new salad joint. I have to admit that I was very pleasantly surprised. I chose the BBQ Chicken Salad, partially on the cashier recommendation but also because it was the daily special. The salad was huge, though it was a little heavy on the lettuce, and the dressing was spectacular (some kind of sweet, chipotle vinaigrette type thing). Though I didn't try one, there were some rave reviews at the table for the crepes (which were really wraps with a whole wheat crepe). For $9, I got a large salad and a drink, which is pretty darn good for such a fresh meal. It was unanimous, we'll all be back at Tossed pretty soon.

I work close to the new Tossed restaurant on Briar Forest and have gone there several times for lunch. I usually get a salad - my favorite is the Chopped BBQ Chicken. The ingredients are very fresh and they prepare the salads to your specifications when you order. I love the fact that it's not like normal salad bars where customers are breathing all over the food. At Tossed the food is prepared behind glass by workers wearing gloves.
I have also tried the crepes and like the chicken goat cheese the best. They are actually wraps that are wrapped in fat free whole wheat crepes (thus the name).
The restaurant is very clean and bright. The food is delivered to the tables on real china and cleared when you are finished and there is no tip required!
We will continue to visit there for lunch a couple of times a week. It is really nice to have a place nearby where you can eat healthy.
