Iris Salon

From the outside this place would seem like a nice salon. But once inside it's a whole different experience, or torture rather. There is monumental sales pressure to buy this and that, why ask me what products I use just so you can bash it? Lame much? The interior is tacky and not very well done at all. The cut they gave me came out as crooked as if they used garden tools. I paid way too much for this and on top of which I now have to pay for it to be repaired. And the pedicure that I got was a nightmare. I seriously have not had a combo service that's this bad in.... well, ever!

Mary has done my hair for years. She always takes time to discuss what I want and never makes me feel like she just did what she wanted with my hair. She is the best at color and fixing color that others have not done properly.

Mary has been making my hair look awesome for several years now, she cuts, colors, highlights, and also styles my hair on a very regular basis and I am happy every time I leave the salon. I recently had a pedicure from Carla and she did a great job as well. I followed Mary to Iris from her previous salon and I feel very welcomed at Iris. Even though I have a farther drive I am very pleased with the new surroundings at Iris Salon, the atmosphere is very nice and the prices are well worth it.

I love my hair and decided to get highlights. The colorist told be how beautiful my hair was little did i know she was going to change that within a couple of hours. I said I did not want streaks, but i ended up with unnatural ugly streaks. while the color was processing the colorist disappeared and just abandoned me, As scalp started itching and slightly burning. There was absolutely no one else in the salon, just sad little ol' me sitting there by myself. Finally she emerged from the back somewhere chomping on food and blabbering on her cell phone. I told the colorist I had breakage she said i did not. I told her my head burned she said no it tingles. So she put more color on my hair to tone it down. I still thought it looked streaky. Then she put more dye on the front and top of my hair and it looked red. I did not want red I wanted blonde. My hair looked horrible and then I spent days with ice on my scalp and running cold water through my scalp. This is the fifth day that my scalp burns. I was never offered an apology. My hair looked and felt so much healthier before I encountered the hair colorists. The colorist over processed my hair. I have never been through so much pain with my hair in my entire life. My hair was my favorite thing People would say you have such beautiful hair before I went to the salon. now people tell me it looks bad. I never imagined the destruction a hair colorist could do I trusted that she would make my hair look and feel awesome. I'm glad i have thick hair, if I did not I would have been even more devastated. Now I have to cope with having thinner hair a burning scalp, and hair that looks so dried out.

If you've never tried eyelash extensions but have been wanting to, don't wait, go see Jessica! I have been wanting to do this for six months but was put off by the cost and some negative stories I've heard from girls who have had them done. I went this weekend and couldn't be happier! They look amazing, I've had so many compliments on them already. The lashes look totally natural and I don't have to mess with eye makeup any more. Jessica is fabulous, she's so personable and really fun to talk to while you're getting them done. She charges a lot less than most places (which are getting ridiculous, up to $300 for the initial set) and the quality of work is great: I'm a little OCD so I am really picky.

I LOVE this place!! I followed my stylist, Mary, from her previous salon and I am so happy I did! Since I started going there I have gotten my hair done by Mary Dunn (AMAZING!), waxing by Mary Dunn (painful but WONDERFUL!), mani/pedi by Carla (BEAUTIFUL!), and a facial by Jessica (FABULOUS!). Everyone there is super sweet and very accommodating. I am taking my wedding party there this weekend and I am so excited! Thanks Iris Salon!!!

After getting used to $40-$50 mens cuts downtown I decided to try Iris, mostly due to the location. I booked an appointment with Mary and was very pleased with my cut, especially for it only costing $30. She was very easy to talk to and the time flew while I was there. I have gotten lots of compliments on my hair and I will definitely be going back.

Some salons are a little intimidating to go into as a guy, but Iris has a very open layout with a large tv and couches to enjoy while you wait. The last salon I went to had no true waiting area, just two uncomfortable chairs in their reception/store area that were there for people to sit in while they had makeup applied. The only thing there was to look at was shampoo and makeup, so a small wait seemed even longer. Iris's waiting area is much better, a definite step up for me.

Last year I had come into this salon and I had gotten a pedicure and haircut before, know that I am back for school I decided to come in and get a pedicure again. To my surprise the place looks nicer, cleaner, and the staff was so polite, they informed me that it has changed management. But get this the prices are very reasonable. When I went in they offered me a Margarita with my pedicure, they said it was Margarita Night for this month, and that every month they do different kinds of drink specials plus promotions through out the entire salon, my manicurist was Carla, very good job. Keep up the good work..........I'll be back for sure

Maggie at Iris Salon is the best hairstylist I have ever seen. My color is fabulous in any light and the haircut allows me to dance like a gypsy without even getting a hair out of place. My hair has perfect balance and I love the great body and shine I have now. Thanks Maggie! My new look really sparked a new confidence in me that has shown through everywhere in my life, especially the bedroom.

I received a coupon in the mail for "One free haircut OR half off any color service, including highlights at Iris Salon". So, last week I booked an appointment with Joseph. I didn't get a reminder call for my appointment, which I thought was normally standard practice, but whatever. So I show up for my appointment and "Maggie" (the assistant manager it turns out) acts like she's the one cutting my hair. I said I thought I had booked with someone named Joseph (this was my first time to the salon so I didn't know the stylists) and they were just like um, no, you are with Maggie. So since I didn't know any of the stylists and didn't care that much, I just went with it.

During my haircut, two of the employees (including the receptionist) decided to leave to go to McDonald's. So this meant that my stylist was answering the phones and booking appointments during my haircut. This meant my hair was pretty much dry by the end, so when she blowdried it, it didn't do much and the style was ugly. I just kept reminding myself that this was going to be free and that I shouldn't be so picky. And Maggie had given me a fantastic shampoo and head massage so I felt relaxed.

So I then went to Muoi for my manicure and pedicure. I booked these because I thought it would be a nice gesture for the salon since I was getting a free haircut and I needed my nails done anyway. My pedicure was great.

When it was time to pay, I got out my coupon and Maggie informed me that while it does say that my haircut would be free, that is not what they meant to put on the coupon, and they really meant it to say that haircuts are half off WITH a color service. She said that she was willing to give me my haircut for half off though. I expressed dissatisfaction with this and the other stylists proceeded to gather round and gang-up on me saying things like "well you're lucky we're offering you a discount at all. Sometimes we don't even honor this coupon at all." I asked if their salon issued the coupon and they did not deny it, but said that their manager had decided she did not want to honor the coupon after all. Obviously, there were no signs up in the salon or notices on the website that they are not accepting this coupon. What really made me upset was how rude to me they were about it. It's not MY mistake that they won't honor their coupon, it's theirs. If anything, they should be apologetic.

Needless to say, I will not be returning to Iris and I do not recommend this salon to anyone that expects remotely professional service.

My stylist, Joseph, is top notch! Not only is he highly educated at what he does but he is extremely sweet and personable! He made my visits very comfortable and satisfactory. I love the fact that he offered his opinion on what would compliment my personality and face! I had amazing color done and the cut he has done is very chic and modern! I haven't been to a salon this awesome ever. He is my favorite stylist because he treats all his clients with love and care! You will not be let down!!! The staff came up and gave compliments too and were all so friendly! I love this place and couldn't imagine going anywhere else where I'd be treated to the fullest! See you all soon!!! :-)

I was driving bye going to work ,decided to stop in and ask for pricing on some services. Asked if they would be able to take care of me on my lunch hour, since I was there before opening time the manager helped me out, she asked if i had a couple of minutes so we could go over consultation and know what we were going to do to my hair (very nice and helpful),when I came back for my appointment Emily took care of me and I will tell you that these two ladys understood and gave me the highlights that I and my husband wanted and was asking me to get them for a while, but i was a little hesitant regarding the new look I wanted to be created and they did, I highly recommend the manager/stylist Crystal and Emily the stylist I will be back my hair looks beautiful, I'm sorry to hear about the experience of the other customer, but I highly recommend you go talk to Crystal and I'm for sure they will be willing to help you out, i don't know but they all seem to be helpful and friendly. And the pricing was very very reasonable

It's been a long time since I've been happy with a haircut. Francesca listened to what I wanted and did it, then when she was done she suggested going a little bit shorter, and after agreeing %100 she cut and styled it into the cutest haircut I've had since being in college!

I appreciated the fact that she wasn't overbearing and didn't shoot down my idea of just going shorter.

She was so easy to talk and and I definitely plan on going back for future cuts.

The price was extremely reasonable. I have very long hair and she only charged $40! At other salons I've paid upwards of $50 for a horrible cut.

Francesca does an incredible job at a bargain price.

As a man, its hard to find a good cut. On the one hand, many Salons are like fish out of water with men's hair, on the other hand, barbers just do a sloppy buzz job.

I'm so glad I found Francesca at Iris Salon. Hands down, the best haircuts Ive ever gotten, and this includes $100 cuts in high end New York Salons.

If this weren't enough, the prices are a steal, and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. I couldn't be more satisfied.

It's been almost a week since I've had my French manicure done, and it's still intact even after washing dishes several times. Natasha was a knowledgeable manicurist and gave an awesome massage for my arms and hands. I plan on coming here from now on for manicures. If you're a student, they'll give you a 25% off coupon for your next visit.

Franchesca has styled my hair for several years. I've never had better hair! From the very beginning she has known how to cut it to make it easy to replicate outside the salon. When I've asked her about which products to use she has always been very honest about what works or will not work for my hair type. She stays up-to-date in techniques and is constantly fine-tuning her profession. Without reservation, I highly recommend Franchesca!

It was my first time at the salon every one welcomed me, and made me feel very comfortable, they offered me a variety of drinks "very nice touch", my stylist was and is now Joseph, he took the time to talk to me and understood what I wanted, the outlook of my color and hightlights are great. When I went to work the next day everyone notice and complimented my hair. A very satisfied customer will be back!!!!

I randomly stopped by this salon when my normal stylest could not get me in. The place seemed nice when I first walked in. I was greeted by Mandy. I told her that i had never been there before but I was hoping to get a hair cut. She was very nice and offered me some wine and I sat down. From where I was sitting I could see this older women and she just kept staring. I didnt think much of it and got back in conversation with Mandy. Mandy was fun and she was very helpful dealling with my indecisivemess. I told her to do what she recommended. Then I noticed that wierd older lady was just staring agian. I wasnt sure if Mandy notice so I asked her who is that? She said she is another stylist. Mandy that girl was creeping me out. I tried to ignore her and focus on my cut, but she was almost finished already. Seriously she cut and styled my hair in under 15 minutes. I couldnt believe it. It looked awesome. That girl knows style. I will definately be back to see mandy. II am glad that I radomnly tried this salon, but I am still not sure why that lady kept staring the whole time. Wow... maybe I was just looking real good. Seriously dont stare its rude.

The main issue that I have with Iris salon is with a particular hair employee. It it irritating, sometimes even frustrating to have to sit through my hair cut. When she cut my hair, all she does is talk about other people's personal business. I'm not going to say who specifically, but the last time I was here, I heard a woman made very rude remarks towards another employer. I'm here to have my hair done and to relax. I'm just being honest here, I like this salon. But, whoever the manager is needs to step it up and look after his employees. That woman need to respect her customers. I don't need to explain, but she need to be more respectful to me by first respecting the people who she works with. THERE'S A TIME FOR WORK AND THERE'S A TIME FOR GOSSIPING.

I have been going to Mandy for five years since she was as Giacomo Forbes Hair Studio and I find it very hard to believe that the review prior to mine is true. I am a current client of Mandy's and I find this appauling to hear of the review. It seems uncharacteristic of Mandy as I hold a highly professional position in Austin and therefore trust her completely. I've never heard anything negative from Mandy's work and refer her to all my friends and family. I would also like to commend her on her past accomplishments of photo shoots, Austin Monthly Magazine, TV productions and fashion shows. Mandy is an extraordinary hair stylist and make up artist! I made an appointment with Mandy because of good reviews I saw on this site. When I first arrived she seemed to understand exactly what i wanted. After she cut my hair she began working on my highlights, they had faded and grown out some so i needed a retouch. This is when I started to get upset, because she very rudely said "do you like not care that your roots grow out or what?" I really wanted to yell at her and say "well I am so sorry but I am a broke college kid who can't come get my highlights retouched that often!" but i just said i didnt mins. Afterwards she sat me under the dryer and walked off. After what seemed like forever she took me back to the sinks. While she was washing my hair out she told me that roots where too dark so she was going to add a toner to it. I took her word for it being how i am not a hairstylist, but i have never had a stylist tell me this before when doing my highlights. She put the toner in and left me sitting with my hair in the sink and my neck on that uncomfortable neck thing and left. I was sitting back there 30 minutes before she came back to check on me. Once she did, she quickly rinsed out my hair then took me to her chair to blow-dry it. This is when i realized that she had made my highlights a platinum blonde color. They stuck out HORRIBLY and looked completely fake and odd against my natural color. After she blow-dried my hair, making me look like my mother in the 80s, i was more than ready to leave. She then rang up my total in which she charged me for the extra toner she put in my hair even though she had screwed it up and I am convinced she added it to try and make the platinum blonde darker. I was already so upset I just paid and left. Later I realized that she also did not know how to cut curly hair because she left the ends of my hair frayed to the point where i could not even straighten it because it looked like i had 2 inch split ends. I will never go back and would not recommend Mandy to my worse enemy.

Thuy is the best nail tech in Austin. She is professional, gently, on time, and very skilled at what she does. I have had my nails done off and on for more than 25 years and this is the first person that did not hurt me in any way. She removed my old acrylic nails and put on a new set without 1 minute of discomfort. The nails are awesome and very strong. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere is great...the salon was spotless! I would highly recommend Thuy to everyone in Austin and surrounding areas.

I moved here to Austin from another state and had not found that right hair stylist, I was referred by a friend to go to Iris Salon, my friend had gotten a hair cut by Crystal and she loved it, so I decided to give it a try, Crystal was very perfessional in explaining the differences between the colors and was not in a hurry, she was able to give me what i had wanted, and the cut I was flipping through the magazine and found a style that I liked and she was able to give to me VERY SATISFIED customer, found my hair stylist, also would like to add that she does not take a long time, and is very consider it on the time

The first time I visited Iris Salon, Thuy did my nails. She did a wonderful job on both hands and feet, with a good massage and good results on the paint. The second time I came back for a manicure and had a different nail tech. This one rushed and basically painted my fingers. She spent more time removing red polish from my cuticles than painting them in the first place. When I left, the paint was not hard and there were still red smudges on the skin around my nails. The massage portion of the manicure was pretty brief.

A salon is normally associated with relaxation, but this one apparently thought it appropriate to have a television sitcom playing loudly. This would have been annoying enough, but the radio was turned on as well, to a station seemingly sponsored by a lot of car dealerships. There's nothing like listening to your favorite top 40 pop station at a loud volume over the top of a montage of car commercials. I felt like I was hanging out in Radio Shack.

I had gone in with a 20% off coupon from citysearch, but the receptionist (manager?) would not honor it, saying it was for first time customers only (not reflected anywhere on the coupon). She also said is was only for services over twenty five dollars (also not anywhere on the coupon). I got the feeling she had an attitude. Businesses ought to give customers the benefit of the doubt in these situations; I don't believe it was truly worth the extra three dollars they received by choosing not to honor my coupon, and it's not as if I were trying to cheat them out of something. I am not used to high end salons; I get the occasional manicure and usually frequent the cheaper places. I have received better service at more humbly priced salons.

I love having my nails done here. I would only recommend Thuy. I'm a very picky person and I have been to a lot of nail salons; this place have good quality customer service. Thuy was very pleasant and friendly; I love having the change to my nails done by her. Highly recommend getting Solar full set. My nails look more shiny, they were extremely comfortable on my nail and didn't feel like they were coming away. They stayed in great condition for a very long time, look really natural, definitely money well spend. My nails were in better condition afterward then they have been with any other nail salon I have been to. I have been back to Iris salon a couple of times and she have always remember me, which is really nice, makes you feel very welcome and I end up with a stunning beautiful set of nails. =]

This is the third time I have been to Iris, and I recommend the salon to all my friends, even my Mother!!!
I really like the chill atmosphere and music they play in the salon. It is relaxing yet not overdone.
At first, I was apprehensive being picky about how I wanted my hair. Crystal made me feel right at home after I explained to her how I wanted my hair done! She was very friendly and easy to talk to. My hair turned out just as I wanted it and looked amazing. I went back for a total change up in style weeks later and Crystal pulled through once again. Not only was she able to exactly replicate the picture from the magazine but my bangs looked outstanding and very high fashion. I know I can always count on Crystal for a great (and affordable! which is important being a student) haircut!!! Thanks guys! :)

When I went all out and decided to get my nails done, I had a fabulous appointment with Thuy. She did an amazing pedicure and french manicure and she is the only one I trust to do my nails. Unlike another salon I went to wear they seemed too afraid to touch my cuticles and get the job done right, Thuy was very comfortable and experienced at her job. I did not feel rushed at all and she was very patient as she made sure to perfect and beautify each and every nail. When I would ask what nail treatments she was using, she would tell me about the benefits and we also had a great conversation about life! Thuy is the best nail artist I have ever had and I recommend her to everyone looking to get a beautiful makeover on their hands and feet! :)

Worst haircut ever - besides the poodle perm I got back in the 7th grade. This one. I showed her with two fingers how much I wanted off. Not much. She went ahead and did what she wanted. I am so short that I cried. She said "you had too much hair." really? Well, now I can't even make a ponytail. Also, color: I asked for ash-brown; they showed me the ash-brown swatch. I was thinking "this is great," because the consult was a good 5 minutes each for color and cut. It is strawberry blonde. Not good. Further, both her and the nail lady kept wandering off to do other things and left me sitting there. She's cutting my hair and her and her hands smelled like random disinfectants. Not nice. And... she poofed out my hair in the styling. Round brushed it so I looked 10 years older. One more thing, she kept trying to sell me stuff as I was walking out. Give it a rest already! Last thing, she looked at my tip and said flat out: how do you want to split this? I told her I didn't know and did she have any suggestions? She said "no, how do you want to split this?" I just shrugged my shoulders, ready to get out of there. Oh, aaaaannnnd, as she's coloring my hair, she kept moving my head with her gloved hand. But she moved my head by TOUCHING MY FACE with the gloves with color on it. I had hair color all over my forehead and cheeks. Awful Awful Awful.

Stepping into Iris I instantly feel relaxed. Meeting Mandy was the best thing that happen to my hair. I really felt she got me and understood what i wanted to get out of my hair . It was probably the best cut i had in a long time. Mandy on top of making my hair happy made me feel welcome and feel i could just sit and relax, first time i didn't get that nervous feeling when sitting in the chair. I am getting complements and will be back. Thaks to tuy for fix my nail.

I was in Austin over the holidays visiting a girl friend of mine and coming home from wandering around we came upon this place and thought it would be a good pit stop before we did some more shopping. Boy was I wrong. Even though there was hardly anyone in the place they were so rude and abrasive as if they didn't have time and we were an inconvenience. I got a new set with Thuy and my girl friend got a quick trim with Crystal. I won't speak for my friend's service but me personally I got the worst set ever. They were thick, uneven and painful. Relaxing? I wouldn't think so. Shortly after I got home just a couple days later they were already starting to pop off. What a nightmare!

I came in recently after the construction was completed and thought that the neighborhood would have a great new place but unfortunately that wasn't the case at all. In fact it was pretty disappointing and still over priced. I got a simple cut that took entirely way too long and not because my hair was in dire need of repair but it was because Crystal was much more busy being on her cell phone than paying attention to her client. I didn't think that me being there was intruding on someone's personal social time but apparently I was. What topped it off was the price tag at the end.

I am truly ecstatic with my new cut! I tend to be low maintenance when it comes to hair and Mandy ingeniously cut my hair in such a way that it pretty much takes care of itself now. It looks as if I spend inordinate amounts of time styling it in the morning, while the truth is the look is simply the cut she did. My only problems was I can't get her sooner.

I visited here at a friend's recommendation in an attempt to find a place where I could come regularly . Although the location can be easily overlook because of the construction, I was highly satisfied with the customer service. I'm a very picky person but Thuy knew exactly what I wanted and gave me an outstanding nail service. I also had a better conversation with her than any other beauty salon I've ever been to. She's such a great person, and she love what shes doing.

I would love to recommend Iris salon to all my friends and family. Of course this short review doesn't do her justice. My overall experience here was great for the price you pay. I would love to return here regularly, the interior on the inside and the welcoming customer service is amazing.

Good quality service on the inside that counts =) and that is just what I'm looking for.

If you are looking for a place to go get pampered . Iris is the place to go by far in Austin. I went & had the best expierence I have ever had. Peaceful & welcoming from the min you step in the door. It is amazing. While waiting you can sip a cup of green chai tea . Then you are wine away to be pampered. Try the pevonia Body Treatment, I left with skin so soft , my husband coouldnt keep his hands off! Well worth the treat. Thai has magic hands. Mandy is awesome! Oh my I felt in heaven. I ddnt want to leave. All in all, the best place I ever been, I will be sharing several of the business cards I picked up with my firends & will be going back again soon.

I went toIris salon a week ago & had my hair colored by Crystal. I loved my hair when I first left & I still love it a week later!!! I have recieved several compliments regarding the color & that it looks very healthy (I did a conditioning treatment as well). The staff was very fun & energetic! You can tell that they are one big family. because you feel very welcomed there! Mandy was fantastic. Besides Crystal, Mandy was fun to talk to--felt like an old friend. I'm looking forward to my next appointment already. I get to hang out with the girls! Thanks again for making it easy on me to find a new salon since I moved new in Austin.

You get a haircut and at least one person will say to you the next day, "great haircut:," you look nice" or even "did you get your haircut?" When there's silence, you know something went horribly wrong. I arrived at Iris Salon hoping to receive friendly service and a professional style and cut. Friendly service was the stylist taking phone calls on her cell while washing and cutting my hair. Professional cut, well, I left with less money in my pocket and a sloppy haircut for which I had to take pair of scissors to correct. Very, very disappointed. At least I know it will grow back.

I have had consistently bad cuts here, the latest was when i went in to get it cleaned and shaped up, hoping to add a little pizazz without taking a lot of length off--a common request I'm sure. She took what must have been millimeters off, no new shaping, nothing fun or sassy I'll never go back. My first bad cut here was on my birthday. My hair was flat and lifeless by dinner time--i had to wash it again at home and blowdry it myself. What's the point? Too risky here. Very mediocre. I really don't recommend it if you are hoping for something great.

After reading the reviews, I was really excited to try this place for a pedicure and eyebrow wax. When I arrived, there was no bottle of water (or employee, for that matter) waiting - just someone yelling out what I wanted from their station. Meanwhile, four other girls walk in and all are served before me, though the employees are almost continually calling out what they want multiple times and conversing about it throughout the process. 20 minutes later, I am still waiting in the lobby with zero communication on when I will be served. A few minutes later, a woman who I have not seen before asks me to follow her. Mass confusion ensues with me trailing her throughout the salon as she goes back and forth conversing with numerous employees. Without a word, she proceeds with the pedicure which was neither delicate nor relaxing. She ignores me completely and finishes the American manicure without asking about my preferences on the length of my toenails or the size of the white strip on the top of them. Afterward, she takes me to the dryer, where I am asked if I was the one who wanted the eyebrow wax. I reply, "No," but then start thinking it would be a good idea. So when the next person asks me if I originally wanted the eyebrow wax (still no), I say, "Can I please add one on?" Again, mass confusion ensues which results in no shortage of a half dozen different people then asking if I want an eyebrow wax. Finally, I am led back by someone else this time. Again, the experience is pretty rough, with scalding wax and menacing tweezers. Also, she fails to question about my preferences on eyebrow appearance. Please allow me to clarify that I have had countless pedicures and eyebrow waxes in the past and know that there is a bit of discomfort to be expected. However, in this situation, it was of a pronounced level. There also was no soothing cream following the wax, only trimming, ripping, tweezing and done.

I stopped in for a mani/pedi since it was so close to home but it wasn't a very pleasant experience. I felt like I was intruding on them and the only time anyone cared to speak to me was when they were trying to sell me something. Granted we've all had some sort of sales job and they are a business after all so I understand trying to up sell your customers. But good lord I haven't seen such desperation in quite some time. They were trying to sell me hair products and services when I said all I wanted was a mani/pedi. Not only that they acted upset that I only wanted to get the basic level service and not the fancy one. Not pleasurable, not worth the time, and definitely not worth the high prices!

This is my second review of this place, not because I decided to go back after the first terrible experience. I'm having to write this again because my initial constructive criticism was removed for some random reason. The place is drab but tries to convey itself as a professional spa. Their prices are high and the service is shotty. I went out of convenience and thought I would explore a less pricey place than where I was going before but ended up being scammed into paying even more for cheaper quality service.

Cons: price, service, parking (you have to back out INTO oncoming lamar traffic)

i found iris salon online and their website looked really professional, so i went for a pedicure. the result was okay, but nothing really different than what i would get from the cheap place down the street from my house. the look of the place was kind of nice, but the service was lackluster. i felt like they were just trying to finish the pedi and get me out of there so they could move on to a more high-paying customer.

I am very picky about my hair cut, but as soon as I walked in to Iris salon I was sold. First off the atmosphere is great and so are the people working there. Crystal very nice, She understood exactly what I wanted done with my hair, and picked out an amazing shade for my color. My hair never looked better. I felt like a model with the service that I received, and I looked one too. Even though I moved about an half hour away from the my old salon, I still go for the drive because its really worth it! I had some waxing service done by Thai, She is great. Definitely the best hair cut and overall salon experience is great too. highly recommend.

I had decided that very day to cut off all my hair... gulp. I had a wig that I really enjoyed and had hoped to use it as the base of my new coif. I pulled into the parking spot in front of the store and took in the surroundings. Iris salon is in a shabby strip with pin-stripe on the windows, ala pawn shop. But they did have a well designed sign. Stuffing my trepidation, I enter. The interior of the salon was much more appealing than outside. There were chairs for pedi's and stalls for styles. I was meeting Crystal, who on their website is touted as an executive stylist. We had a couple of minutes of small talk. I had a wash and went over the wig with Crystal. I was sat in the chair and Crystal began to cut my hair. Crystal's cell phone rings and she asks "Do you mind" as the cell flips open. Without another word she cuts, head cocked to the side cradling the phone. She cuts without another word, aside from the Spanish she is speaking to her husband on the other end for 45 MINUTES.

When my husband called back Crystal, using the psuedonym of Nikie the manager, played some games and said that I could get free high-lights. Not a Chance.

I moved to Austin a little over a year ago and though it's a wonderful city I haven't had the best of luck finding home at a new salon. I came across Iris because of the gobs of advertisement and coupons that they make available. I thought I had asked all the right questions one would asking trying out some place new but unfortunately I would be disappointed once more. The trim and pedi that I got would be second-rate at best, I genuinely felt as thought I just left supercuts. I didn't like the fact that I was mislead into thinking that I was about to pay for professional level service but in fact it was just another atypical strip mall experience. I guess I should have known all those coupons in all the different venues should've have been a big warning sign. Thanks for taking the time to read my opinion, hope it helps!

Fantastic Stylist!
Last week I needed a new haircut. I happened to pass by Iris Salon and asked if there was anyone that could give me haircut that day. There was a stylist named Don who was available. I was a little nervous because cutting my hair is very difficult. I explained to him how I wanted my hair cut in detail. He payed close attention and took his time. he was very attentive while being very upbeat! I loved the way it turned out! I have never been more satisfied with the way it looked. I felt more confident and ready to show off my new cut! I recommend him to anyone who is looking for a quality haircut/stylist because He obviously knows what He is doing! After all, look at her hair! Bottom line after visiting this salon I knew I didnt want to have anyone else cut my hair! He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my haircut.

best eyebrow wax

I was first sent to crystal for eyebrow waxing by my daughter. that I am very happy with her effective and exacting approach as well as her welcoming personality. I do not feel the need for eye makeup after my visits to Crystal. I donn't trust my eyebrows done by anyone else anymore.
