Casa Colombia has great potential, due to the location and it being the only authentic Colombian restaurant in Austin I believe it could get on the list of The Top 50 Restaurants in Austin. It is out of a small house off 7th street, feeling very authentic with wall dcor from Colombia and the staff very friendly and family like.
The food is exceptional! I have not yet trying everything on the menu but have tried most. My recommendation is to get the Pollo Guisado with a Mango Mimosa great flavors and complements each other nicely.

This place is as authentic as it gets! Food is great, the service could be better, but definitely reminds you of home where the customer service experience is not what talks about the restaurant!

This place is always packed but well worth

Go on the weekend their ceviche is the best. Everything on the menu is authentic and absolutely delicious. Be prepared to concentrate more on eating than on talking. This little spot outshines many of their competitors!!

Pros: Location and food

Cons: Could be a little prettier to match the great food

Everything, and I do mean absolutely every item in the menu is great. Large portions and wide array of appetizers and deserts will ensure you leave this place packing several pounds. Be sure to try the juices and the Tres Leches.

I am no great connoisseur of South American cuisine and this is probably more like 4.5 star review. The Pechuga Rellena was a little (or maybe, alot) greasy. I know it's stuffed with cheese but...
The mashed potatoes were really buttery and when the pico gravy was added was were outstanding with a nice spice. The plantains which accompanied the pabellon were thick cut with a nice crust. The pabellon itself was delicious and reminded me of what others call their ropa vieja. I will be back to try their ropa vieja with the olives and capers.
The empanada was a dense one (I've had better) but was a nice crusty exterior with a chewy interior. And as an appetizer, worthy of splitting amongst two.

This restaurant is one of the best Colombian restaurants I have been to in Texas. The appetizers are amazing and really large, so big that last time i went I even debated if i wanted a main dish or not. The aborrajado,a fried mix of plantain and cheese, was my favorite. Both sweet and savory at the same time. The empanadas are large and with their homemade aji (spicy sauce) it made it a perfect beginning for the afternoon. The juices are also pretty good I recommend Maracuya made with water if you want a refreshing cold drink with a nice sour taste in the end. All the juices can also be made with milk instead of water making them a little bit thicker almost like a fruit milkshake. The main dishes are all delicious my favorite being the churrasco and the arroz con pollo (both also really really big). The desserts could be a little better but after eating so much food I never have any space for the dessert. The whole meal is really filling and i have never seen a table that did not leave without a take away bag. I hope if you decide to go you enjoy it as much as I do.

Pros: Large portions, amazing appetizers, friendly waiters, friendly chef, small so personal service

Cons: If packed plates take a little while

My boyfriend and I tried this place recently because it was close to my home and the menu sounded pretty tasty. I have to say that it was better than what I expected. Their soup of the day (I can't remember the name, it had a piece of corn on the cob in it) was amazing. He didn't care so much for the breaded steak but my arroz con pollo was really good. The relleno de papa is a must-try, as are the empanadas.

Pros: The food.

Cons: A little confusion with the bill (we used a coupon) but nothing that wasn't solved quickly. The Tres Leches wasn't what I am used to. It was dry.

I really love this place! The food and service are wonderful. I love to take my friends when they visit or just go have a nice lunch alone. I lived in Venezuela for awhile so the food reminds me a bit of the food there and it tastes just like the food they would make at our home, so even though you are going to a restaurant, you are still getting home cooked food.

... A friend and I went last night. I was skeptical due to a couple of negative reviews. Let me tell you that the food was GREAT, the place had a great feel to it and our waiter, Felix (only his 2nd night on the job) was one of the best waiters I've ever had. Knowing traditional colombian food, I have a set of standards and this place met them. The chuleta valluna (pork tenderloin w/rice and plantains) was great as was the Ropa Vieja (yum). Also highly recommend the Maracuya (non alc. passion fruit drink). The yuca frita and the arepas were great as well. This is one of those places where I think I'll try something different every time.. Go to this place!

Cons: Can get pricey, when you start, trying everything

Lots of potential here, but service is kinda scary.
We have been a couple of times as we work close by, but you need to take at least 90 minutes out of your day.

Emilia's cooking is delicious! Regulars are treated like family. Small venue so it's not equipt to handle multiple groups at one time; however, I have had groups of 20 for dinner with no problems. Everyone was happy with service.

Went with a small group for lunch , and was very disappointed with
the service. We waited a little over an hour, and we never received
our food. The reason why we hadn't received our food ? The waiter said that we had alot of people ( only 4 of us ), and that we had ordered alot of food ( we ordered the lunch specials ). Maybe in six months the kitchen/wait staff will get it together. As for now, I would avoid Mi Colombia until they can get their kitchen/wait staff coordinated.
