Praise the Lord and Pass the Thai Tea.
For almost two years now, Jennifer C and I have been (almost) daily lunch buddies. Most of the time we enjoy the same things (mushrooms should be their own food group) and hate the same things (eggs? carrots? blech).
But there are a few things I absolutely love... that I usually have to either eat at night for dinner or on those rare lunches when she is stuck in a meeting or out of town. Things like seafood (and sushi), Indian food, Guacamole and up until about three months ago... Thai food was on that list.
This is where Thai Tanee comes in. Finally! Thai food that pleases both of our palates. I have tried the Red Chicken Curry, the Pad Kee Mow and the Pad Thai. My biggest and only complaint from these three dishes is that they do not put Peanuts in their Pad Thai. To me, it just needs that salty crunch.
Thai Tanee is a tad bit of a drive from my office and walking distance from Jenn's so I have to decide what I want before I leave and we leave at the same time and she orders for me... so that our order is almost ready by the time I get there and just eating Thai food doesn't turn into a two hour lunch.
The soup of the day rotates throughout the week. I think Mondays is a Vegetable Soup. Thursdays is Egg Drop Soup... which is when we ended up here more than once. She usually orders the salad, but we both hate eggs, so we have planned to now only go to Thai Tanee on Fridays. On Fridays, they have a coconut vegetable soup that is just delicious.
Their Thai Teas are so delicious I could drink probably three of them easily, but since they are not only 700 calories each... they also do not have free refills. So we have had to start ordering water with our meal and then ordering our Thai Tea to go so that we can enjoy them on the way back to work... without the temptation of ordering a second or third or forth.
Thank you Thai Tanee for adding Thai food back into my lunches.
