Dr. Alcorn is SO wonderful. We have used her for over two years for my daughter. I recommend her to all of my friends. The wait time to see her is great. She actually listens and cares. She knows that as the parent you know your child best and listens to everything you say. We have sometimes been in with her for an hour because she takes the time to listen to you and ask questions. My daughter just loves her. I called today because my daugther was running a mystery fever and talked to a nurse. I did not expect the call when Dr. Alcorn called to check on my daughter to see how she was and offer personal advise. What doctor will actually take time out of her busy schedule to call you. She is amazing. I cannot say enough about her. If she were to move I believe I would move with her...she is that excellent.

Pros: Everything..

Cons: Phone ettiquette of receptionist, new phone system, parking.

Dr Alcorn has all three of my kids as patients (10 YO, 7 YO, and 5 months) and she's just wonderful. She talks to the kids and has real conversations with them - asking what they like, what they're doing, and so on. It's pretty nice to experience this somewhat more 'traditional' interview in the era of 10 minute well check appointments. I guess what it boils down to is that she takes them seriously - on their level. As a parent, I like that. (I seek out that trait in my own care as well.) She's been able to use this rapport to help my oldest with her asthma and see us all through various flu, pneumonia, lots of strep, some staph infections. She knows my family and asks how the others are (when she's only seeing one). That says a lot to me.

Dr Alcorn does not work full time so getting on her schedule can be difficult. ARC will let you schedule appointments 3 months out. This is particularly helpful for well check appointments. Of course, if you need to see a pediatrician and Dr Alcorn is not available, you can see some of the other excellent pediatricians. We haven't ever had a bad experience with any of the doctors. (My kids add that the only bad experience they've had is one that involves shots. But I think that just is part of the package deal. Sorry kids!)
