With a recipe that has been in our family for generations, Henry's Puffy Tacos is legendary for our delicious specialty: plump, puffy tortillas bursting with your choice of tasty taco fillings. Some have called our Puffy Tacos little pieces of Taco Heaven. We just call them Good! We also offer a wide selection of Mexican and Tex Mex specialties, including enchiladas, burritos, flautas, picadillo, gorditas, crispy tacos and of course famous beef,chicken and shrimp fajitas! Our Cantina includes a selection of margaritas, imported and domestic beers, and tequilas. For take-out, our convenient To Go Counter will process your order quickly and efficiently. Visit us at our new location on Bandera just outside of Loop 410. As always, our restaurant is great for family-friendly and group dining. We even have a private room to accomodate your special functions. Closed on Sunday's.
We visited San Antonio from out of town and were amazed at the customer service here! Not only did a staff member, and Henry, come out to help us stay out of the rain with umbrellas during a downpour (greeting us as soon as we parked) but our waiter, Daniel, was great with our kids!
The food was really good - their carne guisada was among the best I have ever had (one of my Mexican faves) and the chicken puffy taco was really good. The beans - yum, yum.
We will definitely eat here during our SA visits and make sure to tell our friends to stop by, as well!

Puffy tacos are more filling than regular tacos - an interesting, authentic taste. The picadillo ones are excellent. The chicken ones were a little dry. Cole slaw was a bit on the sweet side. Casual, noisy decor with lots of families.

Now, this is my 3rd review, and yes, it's another mexican food one! I just love the fare, especially here in Texas. The puffy tacos here are just one of the reasons TX Mex food is all the more better than CA Mex food.
I'll admit, I've only ordered the puffy tacos from here, so I can't vouch for anything else on the menu- but there is a reason for this- puffy tacos are delicioso! And cheap! They are perfect for any snack, meal, but especially drunk food!

Fav. Mexican restuarant in SA

This is my family's favorite Mexican restuarant. The staff is always friendly, the food is great and it usually comes out fast.
I noticed on my credit card statement that I was billed twice one time but they fixed it before I called them.
Pros: Great food, fast service, friendly staff
Cons: Billing issues
