My water was disconnected because, unknown to me, I failed to enter my account information correctly when I made an online payment. A week later I came home and found that I had no water. I called at 3:30pm and was on hold, as usual because they ALWAYS have a "high volume of calls", for almost 45 minutes!! I was told that I failed to make a payment and the order to pull my meter was done. I never recieved a call or even a knock on the door. This was something that was done in error and could have easily been resolved, if they had bothered. And because it was after 4, despite the fact that I called prior to 4, they could not send a tech to reconnect. The next day I waited and waited with no water and had to cancel my children's doctor appts because they didn't show up till after 6!! I went without water for over 24 hours with an infant. They need to hire more customer service reps and field techs to get to the customer's needs in a timely manner. This was a unintentional error on my part, but I paid for it as if I intentionally blew off my bill. I have only lived here 8 months and I can say that I have never encountered such issues with any utilitity company from where I moved.

Bexar Met Water District--San Antonio's Corrupt Enigma

My experience with Bexar Met in the last few months has been totally frustrating. I had my billing to be paid by auto pay. What a mistake that was. A few months ago I found that Bexar Met was not only taking the current bill amount but would go into my checking account a week later a(for at least the last 1 1/2 years) and monies for a late fee charge which was unfounded since the balance owed was taken out in a timely manner through auto pay. That additional amount (late payment charge) was anywhere from $2.00 to $4.00.

In spite of emails and phone calls, Bexar Met did not respond appropriately to my complaints or attempt to correct their error. They again charged me a late fee in spite of my complaints in November 2010. So I then requested a paper bill and made a check for payment. Bexar Met deposited my check (Dec 2010) well before due date. And now they are again charging me for a late fee in my current billing (due 1/2011) and did not send me a paper bill but on their own sent me an emailed notification.

This is so blatantly wrong. Bexar Met persists on stealing from their customers in spite of telling them and getting caught in their outright purposeful cheating blunder.

Our most recently family bill had an extra $34 surcharge for "improvements" to their system. When I called to find out what this was for, the support person did not know. She also said she could not remove or credit for this mystery charge. Simply unbelievable. Bad or uneducated support.

I was with SAWS before moving to a new home that is serviced by BexMet. My bill is 40% higher for the same water usage. BexMet gets their water from SAWS and passed the fee to the consumers. SAWS should get rid to the middle man.

I can see why they would be rude. Are you people blind? SAWS is trying to takeover Bexar Met but it is more evil than that. Bexar Met resisted SAWS and suddenly Bexar Met is up on corruption charges. Take a look at how the International Monetary Fund is working to privatize water as the IMF is called government but is in fact a PRIVATE CORPORATION and then see how it roles into FEMA. Are you getting it? If there is ever martial law, they will cut the water lines!!!! WAKE UP!!! This is not just happening in San Antonio either!!!!

I moved recently from a SAWS serviced area to a Bexar Met serviced area. Bexar Met has the WORST and RUDEST customer service department I have ever had the misfortune of having to put up with! The phrase "customer service" is an oxymoron when it comes to Bexar Met. No wonder they are under investigation. Just proves the adage, "a fish rots from the head down".

Prior moving into a BexarMet Water District serviced home I was a San Antonio Water System customer for years. I did my home work on things like Utility rates, local businesses and schools prior to buying the new home but never thought to look into the water company. BAD MOVE.

After moving into the new home I saw my water bill more than double as compared to what the same water usage was with SAWS. I called BexarMet's support and had a VERY RUDE customer service rep IGNORE my requests to explain the surcharges and bogus "System Improvement Fee" charges that seemed to NOT be about my actual water usage. I was also told of an upcoming (July 1st 2008) rate increase of nearly %14 on ALL fees that would make my future bills even higher.

According to DrinkTap Organization, the "average 2 story household water use annually is 177,400 gallons". And with the new rate increase from BexarMet that means the average Monthly water bill for a BexarMet customer will be around $110 per month JUST FOR WATER. That is almost DOUBLE what smaller communities around San Antonio pay for the same amount of water, and a %40 premium over SAWS.

Plus, look online for "BexarMet corruption" in Google and you will see plenty of news articles on reported ABUSES IN PRICING, CORRUPTION AND BRIBE CHARGES and more from past and current BexarMet Board Members.

If you are looking to add $600 more a year your home bills, then move into BexarMet serviced home, if not, then stay in a SAWS or other municipality water district!
