Horrid service. The woman named Jennifer is the rudest "Person" I have ever encountered in my whole life!!! I literally heard her shrieking at several people before she berated my Sister and I and then made us leave with. She is just horrible.

This was the worst experience! Jennifer is very unprofessional and rude to her customers. I understand that she is running a business and my need to have guidelines to follow, but that is no excuse for humiliating people. I will never return to another Margie Beegle Estate sale and suggest to her future customers to be prepared for a harsh experience. Read the reviews and notice the common complaint.

i never write online reviews, but i was so annoyed at the obnoxious a-hole named jennifer that i had to. what was supposed to be a nice relaxing day browsing at an estate sale turned into coming across the rudest, most boorish woman i have ever met. let me explain:

almost nothing is priced, so you have to ask the price. well, jennifer, who works the cash register, will sneer at you if you ask. you are told to pick out everything you want then line up in the checkout line. when u get to the front of the line, then they size you up to see how much you might pay for it, then price it for you. so basically, u have to decide on the spot whether you want it or not, when people are waiting behind you. jennifer will yell and bully and try to humiliate you, and if you take more than a couple of seconds to decide, she'll accuse you of being a bad customer or kick you out of the sale all together.

you might think-- well, maybe she acted this way toward one person--- NO, she will sneer at anyone, even the elderly and her own staff. it is hard to explain how horrible she acts, because it is just so shocking.

trust me, you'll want to STAY AWAY from this business-- i wish i'd read the other reviews before i came. all the one star reviews are absolutely true. if this is the person running these sales, you do not want to be a part of it. there are other companies in the houston area that run estate sales- i will be checking those out in the future.

one more thing-- read the five star reviews below and notice they are all written on the same day. then read the review by 'houstontxgirl' and notice that it is JENNIFER HERSELF--- and what is she doing??? threatening legal action against customers SHE was rude to that are voicing their opinions online. maybe she forgot a little thing called FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Margie Beegle sales typically handle upper-scale estates where very desirable merchandise is offered. The buyer may encounter everything from old pots and pans to art worth several thousand dollars. Sometimes even the interior furnishings of the house are for sale. Pictures posted at their website give the visitor a good idea of what sort of material is to be expected.

Prices are fair so these sales succeed at selling the bulk of any estate. Because of that, buyers will stand in line waiting for the doors to open so they can have first choice. Security is always present and the staff knows their business inside and out. The lady doing the checkout is especially efficient and she keeps the line moving.

Margie Beegle sales does a wonderful job in setting up these estates so that you can see everything. Most homes are staged with the persons belongings and the staff are always will to help. I like their policies as they are fair. They run estate sales not garage sales and they have experts price for them if the owner is not sure. The prices are always half of retail if not more. They have a great discount policy so they do go to discount on all prices but not below what they are listed at. So much hard work goes into each and every estate and you can be sure if you are having an estate sale this would be the company you want to go with.

I've been to probably a thousand estate sales in my lifetime and Margie Beegle Sales is right at the top for finding great stuff and dealing with people who know how to run a business. Their merchandise is usually top notch and their 'digger' sales are even better (by MY standards...lol!). I have two small antique shops and keep both of them filled with mostly pieces found at Margie Beegle Sales. If I'm able to buy at Margie Beegle's full price AND sell in my store for a profit... well... I think that says it all about her prices. Sure, I do pay a fair price for her items. But... I find outstanding pieces which I know my customers will buy. I think some people mistake 'estate sales' for 'garage sales'. The two are not inter-changeable. Estate sales are designed to get the best price for the estate owner and still provide a reasonable market for the buyers. Margie Beegle Sales works FOR the estate owner. Their main job is to liquidate the estate at the best price possible. Their signs clearly state when discounts will be given. Can you imagine how long the lines would be if EVERY customer wanted to negotiate the price of every item??? Can you imagine how irritating it would be to listen to people (who refuse to follow the simple posted rules of the sale) argue about why they should be the exception to the rule? Can you imagine how irritating it would be if YOU found the perfect pink flowerpot... in the hand of another customer... and you later learn that customer carried the pot around for two hours only to tell Jennifer ...at checkout... she decided she didn't have enough money to include it in her purchases? YOU missed out on that perfect pink pot because someone else carried it around (or put it on the 'hold' table) thereby taking the pink pot out of reach for other customers. Then you hear later that you not only missed out on this perfect pink pot, but... because the woman carried it around until discounts were announced, the lucky person who got it paid approximately 50% of what YOU would have paid earlier. Running estate sales is a stressful job. I try to remember that when I'm dealing with the workers. Some of the complaints I've read here are petty and are probably more reflective of personality quirks of the writer than of the actual events at the estate sales. In short, follow the rules... remain polite no matter what... and you'll be fine. If you don't like the price of an item, do not think criticizing the item and/or pointing out flaws will drastically lower the price. It won't. Be nice. Have fun. These are ESTATE SALES... not death sentences. You don't like the price? Don't buy it. You don't like the way a sale is run? Don't return. Think you could do it better? Open a business. Just do it.....lol.

I LOVE estate sales! Except for Margie Beegle Sales! She is RUDE and overpriced. BEWARE not to question the price of something unmarked! I witnessed her humiliate a customer for questioning her way of pricing and checking out. She announced to the police officer NOT to allow that woman back into any of her estate sales! I felt terrible for that lady....she was speechless. As for the big spenders, she is EXTRA kind. The beauty of living in Houston is that I have MANY estate sales to choose from to satisfy my estate sale addiction.

This is my first time submitting a negative review online. So it has to be really such bad service that I will take the trouble to do so, so that others can read this before attending their estate sale. I visited the estate sale for the first time. Jennifer the staff checking me out was very rude and disrespectful. She unceremoniously told the police officer to see me out without waiting for my response or working with me on the pricing of the goods. It was extremely humiliating in front of all the other customers. I was shocked at such treatment in our gracious land. To top it off, I immediately called the owner, Margie Beegle to complain about the treatment from her employee Jennifer. Mrs Beegle explained that her company does not bargain. Never did I hear a word of apology of any sort. In other words, this was used as justification for her employee (whom I found out was Mrs Beegle's daughter) treating people so shabbily. They obviously do not need my business and I will not give them any nor recommend this company in any form or fashion. AND I find the 5 star reviews very hard to believe after having experienced their estate sale first hand. The selection of merchandise was just so so, many items were unpriced. I will not patronize them again as the issue was not resolved to my satisfaction by the owner.

I really enjoy going to the Beegle Estate Sales - they're truly a fun event! Margie and Jennifer Beegle operate/direct the Beegle Estate Sales and they have the knowledge and experience to professionally sell estates.

Going to estate sales gives me the thrill of the search, and the great feeling when I find something
I really like! The estate items are always clean and displayed with like items - and best of all, always priced.

And, talk about prices! Jennifer's crew always prices fairly for the family, and still provides a fair price to the buying public.

I always try to make every sale that Jennifer and Margie set up, because I'm always sure to find something that I didn't know I needed!

Check out their sales, and you'll discover that the thrill of the search will truly give you a lot of fun and enjoyment in Houston town!

I am a dealer on Westheimer. I go, without a doubt, to every Margie Beegle sales. The items are priced fairly in the beginning, and if they don't sell them the next day, it goes down by 30%! I have gotten so many treasures at Marge's sales that I don't dare NOT GO! But you have to go to get the bargains! Marge's staff are all professionals and it shows!

I have attended many estate sales through out the state of Texas in the past few years looking for items to help my classroom come alive. I have alway enjoyed visiting with the various people in charge and meeting others who have a love for items that have a history. I recently drove to Houston to attend a Margie Beegle Sale. A friend who had visited one of her sales near Chapel Hill had recommended that I visit this sale. I spent over an hour and a half looking at the materials which were for sale. When I took my selections to the register I questioned the price of a book. I was very rudely treated by the woman taking the money and then was told that the prices were clearly posted. I had a budget so I began to rethink several of my choices. In the process of possibly having to eliminate some of my choices she told me that they would not sell any of the merchandise to me.
I was so taken back that I had little response and left. It was embarrassing for me to be treated in such a manner in front of my friends and other strangers.
I do not plan to attend any other of her sales.

Pros: Wonderful merchandise

Cons: Lack of professional respect toward customers

.

It is my experience in going to her sales, there are "FAVORITE" customers that they give "special" deals too and they OVERPRICE items they may not want to sell so they can keep for themselves. They are RUDE to many, but if you spend big $$$$ they will kill you with kindness. I have seen them ask customers to leave for simply questioning WHY a item may be priced as it is. They have NO DESIRE to treat you as a customer, just take what they say, no questions asked! There are 2 sides to this group, take your chance if you wish.

I really enjoy these sales and try not to miss any of them. I have gone for years and have gotten some really neat things, many at really great prices. I go with a list of what I'm looking for and have scratched several things off my list! I really like both Jennifer and Margie. They have both been so nice to me that it makes me want to keep coming back! Any time I can, I take a friend or visiting relative with me for great fun!

Liquidating an estate is a complex undertaking that requires skill, experience and integrity. From my perspective, the estate sale professional walks a tightrope, trying to maintain balance, by attempting to guarantee a return to his client, while offering attractive goods at a fair price to the estate sale shopper.

This is not an easy task, there are many complications that face the seller of an estate: Frequently, the need for an estate sale and the window of time to shop for a professional to conduct it comes during a very stressful time of life. Different areas of town have varying regulations regarding public sales in private homes and the seller needs to be experienced in how to work within these restrictions. Often family members may be unaware of the value of certain items in an estate; a keen eye is needed to recognize such items and market them appropriately. On the other hand a family member may have emotional attachment to an item they deem valuable, yet in the reality of the marketplace that value is not reflected in dollars. Then there is making the public feel welcome when the sale actually takes place, which is an art in itself.

In the process of interviewing several estate sale professionals in Houston, it wasn??t until I met Jennifer Beegle at Margie Beegle Sales that I felt confident that I could hand the job over to someone that would take charge and enable me to get on with the other responsibilities of closing an estate. In my search I found it revealing that several of the other qualified professionals had pared down their work to ??appraisals only? and left the tremendous undertaking of an actual sale behind. I could not imagine the labor intensive task of going through every item in my home, determining its actual public value and then attempting to sell it all in a single weekend. I had no concept of the exhaustive research that goes on in order to open the doors of a private home for an estate sale.

The first validation that I had made an excellent choice in Jennifer occurred when the wonderfully devoted Margie Beegle Sales team showed up at my home and shared a genuine camaraderie in the task before them. They all not only seemed to respect their boss, Jennifer, they appeared to adore her. Then I witnessed Jennifer begin the painstaking process of valuing many hundreds of items, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, finding value in things that I would have never recognized.

The sale was a tremendous success. I am very grateful for the wonderful efforts of Margie Beegle Sales, its loyal team, and especially Jennifer Beegle, who served me to complete an enormous undertaking during a difficult time in my life. I highly recommend their services. I am honored to have made a friend in Jennifer and I look forward to getting know more of the Margie Beegle Sales team at their future sales.

I have used Margie Beegle Sales 3 times and attended many of their sales. I have always found Margie and Jennifer Beegle to be the most ethical, organized and professional service group in the resale industry.

They provide full-time, on site security so that you never have to worry about any problems. They leave your property clean. They are fast, reliable and they and their employees are extremely nice.

When you attend a sale, they may not have time to be "chatty" but afterall this is not your "neighborhood garage sale", this is a business being run in the most professional way. It's exactly the way I want my belongings to be treated -- with respect for their value, both financially and emotionally.

I attend estate sales often, not only in Houston, but in other cities, as well. I've never attended a sale that was better organized than a Margie Beegle Sales event. Jennifer and her crew go the extra mile to display and price each item carefully. As a shopper, I appreciate their effort and accuracy. Her homeowner clients must appreciate this service tremendously, as well. I find the quality of her sales to be exceptional, the organization of her sales is outstanding, security is always pleasant and appropriate, the staff is helpful and well informed. I can't think of anything to criticize about any of the sales I've attended and I've been a Margie Beegle shopper for over 10 years. I'm pleased to write this review and would recommend Margie Beegle Sales to anyone who wants to attend a great estate sale or to anyone with an estate to liquidate. Better yet, attend one of her sales and see for yourself how an estate sale should be run!

Pros: No detail overlooked; great staff

.

I am a small antiques dealer in Houston and attend many estate sales in Houston. My favorite estate sale company is Margie Beegle Sales because I always know exactly what to expect at their sales.. For two reasons ONE - they do an outstanding job of describing the sale, notifying buyers and showing pictures of the sale and TWO due to the efficient and organized way in which they ALWAYS run their sales nothing gets out of hand and everything is handled in a fair manner. Jennifer is a "goddess" at handling the frenzied crowds and buyers who due to excitement and competitiveness at the beginning of the sale can get carried away (myself being one of them!!). Without the clear cut organized manner in which their sales are conducted any sale can easily turn into mayhem with angry buyers and loss of sales. I NEVER have to worry about that with Jennifer at the helm...All that is expected of buyers is general politeness and conduct...hey I know its hard when we are on the hunt but come on folks....it's not that hard!!!
And from a seller's standpoint, because her sales are so well organized and run she gets plenty of repeat buyers....without buyers no sale is successful.... Margie's staff is very adept at pricing just right!!!! ...you never feel like they have over inflated the prices (which would lead me not to go) nor do you feel like they are on the buyers side. Things of real value are always clearly priced with Jennifer's appraisal knowledge and when she doesn't know she finds out (much to my dismay)!!!!!....it is always clear to me they represent the seller and are there to maximize profits for the seller...but at the same time if they don't sell the stuff they have maximized nothing and they know that!! Other estate sales I attend sometimes price the junk like its really something...Jen knows what she's doing and actually gets more money for junk than other sellers I deal with...

I love them all at Margie Beegle Sales....the jewelery ladies are fun, Travis is a hoot, all the staff is nice and business like and Jen heads it all up on site. I would and do refer this company to anyone who asks me "who is the best estate sale company in town" - I alway reply "Margie Beegle Sales".

Pros: Efficiently run/organized, well published pictures

Cons: Lots of buyers!!!

Margie Beegle Sales consistently manages quality estate sales with beautiful merchandise; exceptional staging (it matters); and helpful, courteous (and sometimes hilariously silly) staff. I choose them first for shopping and would hire them in a minute if I needed their services. And as a bonus, you just might get a doughnut!

We used Margie Beegle Sales to help close out our parents estate. The sale was handled with care and very professional. Everything was well organized and priced very fairly. We had no problems what-so-ever. They even cleaned up after the sale. Received our checks just as promised and on time. Highly recommend. Thanks for a job well done.

I've been going to Margie Beegle Sales for at least 10 years and have always experienced the staff as professional, knowledgeable, and reasonable. Their sales are well-managed and the prices fair. The discount schedule is consistent and reasonable and Jen treats clients fairly. The management at Margie Beegle straddles the fine line between maximizing the sale for the homeowner as well as being fair to the buyers - after all, we all want a bargain! The bottom line is that you get back what you give - some people show up and try to buy a $300 piece of jewelry for $3. I've seen shoppers be rude and truly difficult, and no one should have to put up with that behavior when there are hundreds of people shopping and lining up. Behave well and you're treated well. Isn't that the golden rule we all live by?

We are the MOST welcoming, MOST professional, and we make our clients the MOST money!! Go to our website, call our references, or even better come to a sale. You can meet the team--the nicest in Texas--and attend a great sale to boot!

The only people ever asked to leave a sale are those that put other shoppers at risk, the home at risk, or the personal property at risk (i.e. threaten the safety or person or property or the success of the sale). Our home owners actually ask us to do this and appreciate our attentiveness to their homes. The assistants on the floor and security usually identify these people and, while few in number, unfortunately they must leave. Unlike other companies that perhaps do not have assistants on the floor or security, Margie Beegle Sales wants everyone to shop safely and have a great time.

Finally, sometimes people are rude to Ms. Beegle. Can you imagine? Sometimes they do not like a price or perhaps have had a bad day (or days) and curse and use profanity and -- my goodness -- even worse. These people have to leave too....

Some people might want to look up the legal definitions of slander and libel, and these people might also want to hire a really good attorney. Of course, s/he won't be as good as ours and the truth is on our side.

I interviewed four companies before choosing Margie Beegle Estate Sales to handle a very large estate sale in the Memorial area. I chose Margie Beegle because her daughter, Jennifer, was forthright and on point in answering all of my questions. She stressed just how her company would maintain transparency throughout the entire process, which was my biggest area of concern. Her understanding and compassion towards the family who's beloved belongings were being sold sealed the deal for me. Throughout the process, Jennifer displayed professionalism and an upbeat attitude that helped everyone through a very trying time. I would, and have, recommended their company to anyone who might need their services.

I am a volinteer for a church in the houston area. We have a rummage sale twice a year ,which supports our many ministries. Thanks to Jennifer and her generious clients our sales are a great success and many people look forward to them every year. without Jennifer and her support we would have a hard time making our goal every year., and we would not be able to help as many people as we do. Thank you. Also I would like to say I go to almost all of the estate sales and have seen many people who just dont want to follow the rules. You have to rember this is a huge undertaking and would be a disaster without guidelines and rules for everyone to follow . This makes for a great sale for everyone . For those few who cannot seem to follow the rules, they need to be removed or asked to leave. I believe for the savety and comfort of all guest as well as the clients,

Just returned from another great sale at Margie Beegle Sales where I loaded up on old flower pots and other gardening treasures. I almost didn't go because it was such a glorious gardening morning and most of the photos of the sale didn't look that interesting (the 70s are WAY too close to my era and I'm still having trouble thinking of them as vintage!). But there were all those clay pots just calling my name. As usual I managed to pick up a few other little "can't do without" items including some fabulous old gardening books and splendid vintage Christmas decorations.

I love the way the people who work her sales are so enthusiastic and helpful and seem to always point out something I would have missed (especially Travis---gotta love him!). They always look like they're having fun while working (duh! what's not to like about being surrounded all day by piles and piles of bodacious stuff and more stuff and more stuff!). A few weeks ago I really scored on several nice pieces of antique crystal for Christmas gifts and wonderful vintage patio furniture at prices I couldn't believe. That's the best thing about Margie Beegle Sales. Seems there's always a bargain and I've been able to furnish my home with great cottage looking pieces almost completely from her estate sales. She puts on the best estate sales in Houston and I've grown to depend on them for a regular treat. Keep up the good work.

I am not a burrito expert... but I do know a lot about estate sales... and I can promise you Margie Beegle Sales are the best managed in this area. I have a small shop and get a large part of my merchandise at Beegle Sales... wish I could keep everything I buy. I absolutely love the digger sales and can't tell you how many little gems I've found. I like the way she posts good clear photos prior to the sale as it gives me a good idea if there is someting I absolutely cannot live without. I also like the fact no young children are allowed... makes it much easier to navigate the rooms when there are no baby strollers or youngsters running around.

I first met Jennifer and her mom years ago when they handled my mother's estate sale. They were so kind and helpful and I was surprised at the effort they put into looking up values of some of her items. They ended up sending several pieces to auction and brought the family a lot more money than we'd expected. My mother was in a long term care facility and the income from her estate sale helped us keep her in a nicer facility which made the end of her life a lot more comfortable. My family will never forget the kindness and professionalism of the Margie Beegle Sales team and we are forever grateful for their help.

I would not hesitate to recommend Margie Beegle Sales to anyone needing an estate sale or to anyone who loves chasing the bargains!

I must add a note about the extremely nasty review... sounds like someone with a bone to pick... specially since they state they still come to the sales... must be SOMETHING worth returning for... eh? I've never noticed Jennifer wearing sweats... & what if she did? I mean... we're talking estate sale... not the supreme court. I'm a nice person and find people mostly treat me the same. On the same note, I've seen some rather rude people showing their backside at some of the sales... perhaps they'd be better served if they showed a little respect & kindness?

I am almost reluctant to post this review as Margie Beegle and her expert sales team have for many years been my personal "secret source" for great finds at reasonable prices. Now, you all know...A special comment about items not priced - Margie Beegle's sales team will check for you on a particular item, but the real gem is that Jennifer (at the cash register) usually will give you a really good deal if you purchase a number of items. Occasionally, I must leave an item behind because the price does not fit my budget, but I have always been treated with kindness in these cases. One more thing - if you only knew the amount of effort producing these "events", you would never complain about high prices!

I have been to estate sales held by just about every estate sale company that has operated in Houston over the last 20 years. One of my favorite places to shop (for myself and for resale) is a Beegle estate sale. I feel compelled to express my opinion about this after having read some of the other ?less than kind" posts made here. The Beegle sales have been my favorite estate sales for years now. They do a great job of corresponding with their customers about upcoming sales. The staff is knowledgeable, hard working, honest and pleasant. Conducting an estate sale is a big responsibility. The Beegle?s job is to get the best possible prices for the owner of the estate. However, the sale takes place over a very limited time (1 to 3 days) and that offers a very small window of opportunity to accomplish this. This is what gives shoppers an opportunity to get good deals on antique & vintage items! The thrill of the hunt and the adrenaline rush must be what makes some shoppers insensitive to a few "rules? that are essential to the success of an estate sale for both buyer and seller. Be respectful of the items for sale and the staff and mind your manners. It will not go unnoticed and it will greatly improve your shopping experience. Even though I shop a lot, I don?t spend a lot of money. It makes no difference to the Beegles. Their success relies on hundreds of buyers like me who buy just a little bit?as well as the ?big guns? who spend a lot?and they know it. They always remember me and take good care of me. I think they are top notch and I highly recommend them to conduct a professionally run sale and for great shopping!

I am a Houston Realtor and highly recommend Margie Beegle and her staff. I have worked with them on many occasions over the last six years and find them extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. They have a wonderful website that they upload pictures of the upcoming sales which is extremely helpful to my clients and their email customers. Each sale is displayed and well organized in the home and prices are extremely reasonable. The staff is very helpful, kind and know their business. I personally find Jennifer to be especially professional from the beginning to the end of each sale. She has a staff that comes in and sets up and then can recommend companies to remove items that haven't sold, clean the house and have it ready to put on the market. She has worked with several of my clients and each and every one of them have been extremely satisfied. I would recommend Margie Beegle sales to anyone that is looking to have an estate sale or for anyone that enjoys shopping at estate sales.

JUST FOR THE RECORD... I AM A REAL PERSON AND WROTE THIS REVIEW. DID MY REVIEW SHOW UP AS A PLAGURIZED ONE? I'D LOVE TO KNOW! THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I WROTE. A LOT OF REVIEWS APPEARED AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE (AT A SALE) THE OTHER CUSTOMERS AND I GOT TO TALKING ABOUT THE SKETCHY REVIEWS THAT HAD SHOWN UP ABOUT BEEGLE SALES AND WE WANTED TO SHARE OUR EXPERIENCES TO SHOW THAT THERE IS ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW ABOUT THEM.THANK YOU~ SHAUN COHN Hi fellow estate sale shoppers~ Margie Beegle's sales are clean, well organized, the traffic pattern flows readily, and the policeman makes me feel safe among the occasional riff-raff that haunt estate sales. All of the aforementioned is very nice and all but I don't really care about all that. What I love is that I can collect a box full of random stuff and it is SO WELL PRICED. I am not one of her big spenders, I leave with purchases totaling less than 20 dollars, but she still greets me warmly and I know she's not just doing it to keep a big spender happy! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the digger sales. It is like treasure hunting! Now I never bother going to any of the other estate sales but I am still on their emailing lists. I am amused by how often I get amended emails from them with "OOPS! WRONG LOCATION listed, so sorry!" or "Attention, this sales been cancelled." I saw that she looked tired one day and it turned out she and a friend were up until 4 am (and mind you, she had an estate sale to run the next day) trying to catch some feral kittens in a part of town she was unfamiliar with because these cats ran the risk of starving. It turns out that this was no isolated incident. She spends a lot of time and money saving pets, feeding animals, keeping them out of shelters, and finding them homes. I will sometimes give her a dollar or two towards her animal saving efforts. If you go, you may want to consider it. One last thing. I have been to a few of her sales when people were given the boot (deservedly so, remember the riff-raff I mentioned earlier?) Anyway, guess what I thought the first time I saw someone getting the old heave-ho? I thought "I bet they go home and slam Ms. Beegle's business on the web". And I bet some of them have! One of the other things I like about her sales is the large cadre of Beegle shopper's, hard to imagine so many people would follow her around town unless her prices and services were worth it, and they are. See you there!

Cons: Now I can't bring myself to go to other estate sales!

The staff at Margie beegle Sales are very friendly and professional. The items are resonably priced and there is always a new treasure. I am on their mailing list and go to all the sales. Our Church has a bazaar every year and I am responsible for the silent auction. I get almost all of our items by shopping Margie Beegle Sales. This has been a tradition for the last three years and works wonders!!!!!!!! Also, when my daughter lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, I was able to totally refurnish her home from Margie Beegle Sales without breaking the budget and she got really nice things. Give them all the stars available!!!!!!! I have made a note in my will for them to handle my estate when that time comes.

I've attended many dozens of Margy Beegle sales over the past few years. I would choose her to dispose of my personal estate should that ever be necessary. The Principal, Jennifer is a straight-talking, no-nonsense businesswoman, and I like that approach very much. I appreciate that they do not allow children in the sales. These folks have a strong knowledge of market values and know how to price things appropriately. The staff seems intelligent, trustworthy and honest.

I've done lots of business with many estate sales firms around the city. I find that Margy Beegle sales exemplifies a level of professionalism that sets a standard, in contrast to many of the sloppy mom and pop estate sales companies one often encounters.

Pros: honest staff; security on site; no kids allowed.

Cons: sometimes the sales attract excessively large crowds.

It has been my experience over the years that Margie Beegle Sales have been perfessional in their handling of their company. I find their items for sale to be good for the consumer and good for the seller. Their prices are usually very competitve and reasonable. I enjoy doing business with them, and attending their sales is always a fun, exciting time.

For the last 23 years I have decorated my home with items from estate sales. I have been both a buyer and seller. I believe that I am familiar with all of the estate sale companies in the Houston area and rank Margie Beegle Estate Sales as first class, actually in a class all of their own. The reason for this is the hard work , professionalism and compassion of Jennifer Beegle and her entire team. As a client Jennifer was compassionate, knowledgeable and accommodating getting me top dollar with less than 3 days notice that I needed to have a sale. The members of her Team are knowledgeable about antiques, collectibles, linen, crystal, toys, rugs, records, books and just about anything else you can think of. If they do not know they research the item. Jennifer made one of the hardest times of my life fun. From the point of view of a buyer I never miss a sale if I can help it. The sales are beautifully arranged from the time the door opens to the time the last buyer leaves. Through out the sale her team is ensuring that items are well displayed and neat. Prices are fair. If I am just looking for fun then I know to go the last day. If I see something I can not live without I stand in line at the opening of the sale. The rules are clear; all buyers are treated with respect. I feel safe at the sale since security is always on site. Over the years I have learned not to bother with other sales and just go to Margie Beegle Sales. Jennifer is a companionate professional expert in her field. I recommend her to all of my friends.

Pros: The quality of the goods sold, knowledgeable staff, and fun environment

Cons: I travel and cannot make all of the sales

.

Margie Beegle sales are always very professional and well run. I love the fact that small children are not allowed - it's heaven not have to dodge giant strollers or duck running toddlers.. The merchandise is always well displayed and well organized . The only excepection are the "digger sales" and with those the staff makes it clear that the buyers will be treasure hunting and looking for wheat among the chaff.
The e-mail notifications are always honest and give an excellent description of what to expect. The staff includes many, many pictures on their website so I don't waste my time going to sale that doesn't have anything in my area of interest. The prices are fair - she takes good care of her clients and knows that her first duty is to them, not the buyers. Security is always on site, the rules regarding sign in sheets and pricing are clearly stated and fairly enforced. The staff circulates and makes sure that things stay tidy and misplaced items are returned to the proper area. The price reductions are always announced in advance and I know just when to return should I want a cheaper price. I know she'd be the only company I"d call if I ever needed to hold an estate sale.

I attend estate sales almost every weekend & can tell you Margie Beegle sales are without a doubt the most well organized & attractive of all the sales I attend. The items are grouped with like items & attractively displayed..(well, sometimes 'items' get tossed here & there in the excitement of shoppers...). Layout is consistent from sale to sale which makes it easy to go straight to items of particular interest to me.

As far as rude behavior (which I read in some of the comments), I will say I've seen plenty of rude behavior from customers who perhaps think they're at a garage sale. Estate sales are a business & the families who hire Beegle Sales expect expect Jennifer to get the best price possible for them. While I'm sure some items slip through at far less than their value, I know Jennifer has a large contingency of experts who come in specifically to price items within their expertise. While this may mean the customer pays $50 for a book selling at a used/rare book store for $100-$150... the book is still a bargain for the collector. Would I rather find it for $2 at a garage sale? Of course. Do I? Not often.

Most of the items I purchase are for resale & I've been able to make a nice profit... enough to keep me coming back for several years.I am a very considerate & polite person & have never had an issue with anyone at the sales. They're there to protect the merchandise & to help clients. I've witnessed theft & price changing (or tag removal) & don't have a problem with employees keeping a close eye on both the merchandise & the customers. Signs clearly state rules for 'Digger' sales. There is never an issue if you don't like the quoted price. Standing at the check-out arguing w/Jennifer only slows down the line. Don't do it.

It is likely many customers would have a far different outlook if the contents of the sale happened to be the belongings of their mother or father.... all in the eye of the beholder.

Pros: great variety; name brands; well organized; FUN!

Cons: I can't afford everything I want...

I found that the staff was rude. Many of the items were not priced. This made it difficult to know how much I was spending

I'm a frequent estate sale shopper, and I try hard not to miss Margie Beegle's events. She and her staff set fair and reasonable prices, stage the homes in ways that are appealing and organized, and control the in-flow of customers so that I can move around without running into others. I know that the prices she asks are consistent with the Houston market, and if I'm lucky I even find something special on the second day of her sales when prices sometimes are reduced.

She employs the same helpers consistently, which means I often run into familiar faces and feel quite comfortable. Ironically, she even has a consistent set of shoppers so we often encounter familiar faces while standing in line visiting about our estate sales experiences. As other reviewers have mentioned, she does have very clearly defined rules for how she transacts business, and customers are well-advised to heed those parameters.

I have never had the need to employ Margie Beegle as an estate sale service, but from a shopper's point of view, I mark her as #1 in my book.

Pros: Friendly Fair Great prices

Cons: There are no cons

My family was very pleased with the quality of service we received from Jennifer and Margie Beegle. We had very little knowledge of the value of many of my mother's collectibles, art, & paper keepsakes. We had expected the estate sale people to just arrange stuff & sell it. We were astonished at the research they did resulting in sales far beyond our expectations. Jennifer sent several items to auction resulting in top prices for us. Additionally, my mom had hidden money all over the house & we were pleasantly surprised to be handed almost $2400 before the sale... all squirreled away by our mother! Workers also found a gorgeous pocketwatch she'd no doubt "hidden" for safekeeping many years ago. She told us it was lost or stolen & we never expected to see it again.

Because of the size of the estate we worked closely with Jennifer for several weeks. We witnessed many interactions between her & her staff, other clients, & several customers. I can honestly say I would never take the kind of verbal abuse Jennifer heard from customers who basically seemed unhappy because Jennifer didn't capitulate to some of their whiney, selfish demands. Some of our friends attended the sale & said they were shocked at how rude some of the customers were. For instance, there were signs everywhere stating no children under age 15 allowed & stating no checks accepted. Several people apparently came unhinged when told they couldn't come in with children. Another gentleman began writing a check to cover his purchase, became beligerant when reminded checks were not accepted, & ended by tearing the check up & throwing it at Jennifer before storming out. I'm sorry, but... if someone did that to me, I don't think I'd be in the best of moods.

I never attended estate sales before having this one, but have been to one now & intend to attend more. All in all, a delightful experience with Margie Beegle Sales! I recommend them to anyone needing a quality estate sale.

I have been going to their estate sales since 2003. I have always had a good experience. I have shopped with alot of different estate sale companies over the years. Beegle has their act together. They are priced fairly, well organized and professional. This company must have the largest mailing list because they have the busiest sales and the longest lines.
I like the staff alot. They are friendly and always remember what I am interested in.

I have bought wonderful little treasures at many of her sales....but.....the people who work the sales are sooo unfriendly that it's exasperating.
The woman who takes the money never smiles or has a kind word as far as I've seen. This entire staff seems rude & indifferent. Many items are overpriced.......but......I keep going back because she has many great items in her sales and I LOVE the hunt.

I frequent estate sales quite often as they are great places to find interesting items at good prices. I would say this company lacks both, not only is the quality of their merchandise suspect the prices are greatly inflated. The staff is rude and disinterested when asked questions, also one staff member slapped at my hand when I went to pick up an item. My best advice would be to avoid any of their estate sales unless you enjoy poor quality over-priced goods sold by rude pretentious people.

I went to an Estate Sale and they had a lot of stuff. Most of it was reasonably priced so I would definitely go back to another one of their sales.

Pros: Lots of items to pick from

Cons: The lady that collects the money is a bit intimidating and is easily agitated if you look at the stuff on the table that other customers put there to hold. Oh maybe she was just having a bad day or something.

For the most part, I had a lot of fun at Margie's estate sales with my friend Chris, who goes often. Items are reasonably priced, and prices are sometimes negotiable. I would go back.
