The entire staff was awesome...it is rare that professionalism permeates an entire establishment...from the top-down...every single person I encountered was top-notch. Thank you for the Focus On Independence program for wheelchair users...I cannot thank Dr. Dell and Dr. Cunningham (Marga and the other ladies in the office) enough for being part of such a great program. Dr. Durrie and The Dana and Christopher Reeve Foundation as well...I feel like Lee Majors...

Just had Lasik done. It was everything that the team at Dell Laser Consultants said it would be. I knew exactly what to expect and they answered all my questions.

I had been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old. Can't believe I can see clearly when I first wake up in the morning. Wow! What a difference!

I think one thing that patients have to be prepared for is that Dell Laser Consultants run the office like a business - which it is. There is not alot of touchy- feely here as in your standard doctor's office. They are precise and to the point with not alot of wasted time on their part. The patient has to fit into their schedule. I was willing to accept that as I wanted the best surgeon for my eyes and believe I received exactly that.

I've wanted to do LASIK for years but have just been too nervous to go through with it. Dr. Dell, Dr. Cunningham and all the nurses at Dell Laser Consultants made me feel 100% comfortable.

They fully explained to me what to expect before, during and after the procedure and I have zero complaints. The procedure was pain-free...really! Wish I would have done this years ago.

I'm writing this review the morning after my surgery and my vision is almost perfect. I can't believe it! I know there are several places in Austin where you can get LASIK, but you won't find a better staff or better doctors than at Dell Laser Consultants!

I had my Custom ASA surgery one month ago today with Dr. Dell. I am amazed at how great my vision is. I could not be happier with my decision to get the surgery. The surgery was very quick only taking about 15 minutes. The facilities are very nice and all the staff was friendly. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Cunningham and the nurses at Dell Laser Consultants made LASIK easy and painless. While no doctor can guarantee an optimal outcome, Dr. Dell cares very much about his success rate, so his clinic won't even touch your case unless they are pretty darn sure they can help you (unlike many bargain basement laser surgery centers who are happy to take your money whether you see better or not, because after all, you did sign the waiver...) The process (consultation, in depth eye-exam, pre-surgery follow-up, surgery, post-surgery follow-ups) seemed rushed at times, but I think they are just trying to be efficient, rather than shorting their patients. Every time I asked them to slow down a bit or explain something again, they were always happy to take more time with me. They want you to be completely comfortable with the surgery, so they explain EVERYTHING and if you're still not sure you can even back out right up to the day of the surgery. Anytime I had even a minor complaint after surgery, they brought me in immediately for a follow-up with Dr. Cunningham, who kept my recovery right on target. It's not the cheapest place for LASIK, but really, do you want to bargain with your eyesight? Dr. Dell's the best in Austin, and he's worth it.

I must say that I am very pleased with my entire experience with Dell Laser Consultants, from the initial consult to the end results. My surgery was just a week ago and already the difference is amazing! From the receptionist, to the technician, to Dr. Cunningham, to the assistant in the operating room, all the way to Dr. Dell - each and every one of them was a pleasure to deal with. The folks there made sure that I got the best treatment for my vision and chose the right surgery for me. For that I will forever be grateful.

Why did I wait so long to have this procedure?? Living without glasses and contacts for the past month has been amazing. Just as amazing was the experience I had with Dell Laser Consultants. These people seriously know what they're doing. They want you to feel at ease and informed, and while I know they have a ton of patients, each person I came in contact with (with the exception of one front desk person who was slightly less-than-friendly) took as much time with me as I needed and made me feel valued. I was even "that girl" a couple days after my surgery and called Dr. Cunningham's after-hours number on a Saturday morning to make sure my post-op dry eye was normal. He was kind and reassuring.
Are they the cheapest? No. But why settle for cheap when it comes to your vision? If you are even remotely considering LASIK, Dr. Dell and Dr. Cunningham are the people you need to see!

I chose Dell Laser Consultants and Dr. Dell because of his outstanding reputation for being a top notch doctor. Dr. Dell and his staff are amazing. I had been wearing contacts/glasses for over twenty years. I have dry eyes and was tired of my eyes always being irritated by my contacts.

My initial consultation with Dr. Dell was great. Although, after much anticipation of being able to schedule my surgery upon hearing I was a candidate, Dr. Dell advised I would need to wait at least three months after weaning my infant son, before he would do the procedure. He advised he wanted me to have optimal results. Therefore, my body needed to return to normal hormonally first.

My pre-op appointment with Dr. Cunningham was great. He was super nice and reassuring. He explained how they would be putting temporary collagen punctual plugs in my lower tear ducts the day of surgery to help decrease dryness. That made me nervous, but he assured me he would be doing it himself and I wouldn't feel a thing. He gave me a regimen to follow with eye drops to prep my eyes.

The day of the procedure I arrived very anxious and nervous. The staff thoroughly explained the procedure and steps to me. I admit it was more information than I was wanting to hear. I kind of felt I would have been less nervous if I was "in the dark" more about what was about to take place. I then met with Dr. Cunningham and he placed the plugs in my ducts, which was painless. I then was given Valium, which I admit did not have the effect I was hoping for. All in all, the procedure was quick, painless, although stressful. I left with my eyes tearing and sensitive, but was told everything was successful.

Later that day, after a short nap, my vision was great. I was so impressed. The first week following the procedure, I was super careful and followed the instructions they gave me without falter. The aftercare I received with Dr. Ung has been easy and accommodating. My vision is 20/15 with both eyes and 20/20 individually! I could not have dreamed it better!

I highly recommend Dell Laser Consultants. I trust their expertise! You will be in very good hands.

I had terrible eyesight going in, 650/20 and astigmatism in both eyes. 10 years ago I'd been told laser surgery couldn't help someone as bad off as me. Today I have 20/15 vision and night vision at least as good if not better than before. Dr. Dell is a virtuoso with a laser. Dr. Cunningham and the others watched over me like a mother hen before, during, and after the procedure, explaining the dangers in frank terms, answering all my questions thoroughly, and giving me all the comfort items I needed to make the healing process as easy as possible. I felt completely safe because nothing is left to chance and they fuss over the tiniest details, which made me feel better about putting my eyesight in their hands. Its now been 6 months since my last surgery and I have a little bit of dry eye. Other than that no complaints, none. Couldn't ask for anything better, more thorough, or more experienced.

Dr. Dell is amazing. I've worn glasses since I was a freshman in high school. It's been 12 long years and I've tried every kind of lens and contact available. After I heard so many great things about Dr. Dell I pushed my fears about LASIK aside and took the free screening offered. I couldn't be happier! The first day after the surgery and I can already see better than I ever did, period. My eyes feel great and I can't wait to to enjoy the rest of my life glasses free.

I had my surgery over a month ago and I was extremely pleased with the knowledge of the staff and doctors associated with Dell Laser Consultants. After my pre-op exam the doctors decided it was best for me to have just one eye done ?? the other had too close to perfect vision. I felt very informed throughout the entire process and felt they truly had my best interest ?? not just making $ - at heart. I was able to do my follow up visits at an associated eye doctor near my home, so that was very convenient because the Dell center is pretty far from my house.

They are certainly not the cheapest in town, but do you really want to go discount when it comes to your eyes? I know they also offer financing so that is good.

I would highly recommend Dell Laser to anyone in Austin wanting to learn more about the surgery. The consult is free so you really have nothing to lose.

My optometrist in Killeen referred me to Dell Laser Consultants and I couldn't be happier. It has been a month since my lasik and everything is going great. I am 29 and have been wearing glasses/contacts since I was 8. My rx was pretty high -6 and -5.75, so I had some severe nearsidedness. I literally couldn't see without glasses/contacts. I hated wearing glasses because my eyes are senstive to the sun and you don't see as well as you do with contacts. I hated wearing contacts because you can't wear them all the time and my eyes tend to get itchy when my allergies get bad(which isn't comfortable with contacts in). My husband and I have been looking into lasik for a long time, but it's scary to think about someone cutting your eye with a blade. With Dell Laser Consultants they don't use a blade, so that took away a lot of our worry. Plus, the Intralase heals faster than the blade. I also want to say that I love the staff. Everyone was very nice and relaxed, which helped me to be not as nervous. When you are in the surgery room, which you are only in for maybe 15 minutes, Dr. Dell and two assistants are in there with you. I know it sounds funny, but they are your personal cheerleaders for those 15 minutes. I can't say how much that helped me to not freak out. If no one is telling you that you are doing the right thing how are you suppossed to know, and that is NOT one of the times you want to be wondering. As of now my vision is 20/20. I still have some very mild halos at night, but that has gotten better everyday. I am having some nighttime dry eyes, but that is due to me not closing my eyes all the way when I sleep. My optometrist told me to get some Refresh PM and that fixed the problem and I shouldn't have the issue when my eyes are completely healed in two more months. I will definately recommend everyone to Dell Laser Consultants.

I hated wearing glasses and had heavy stigmatism due to which my vision was never sharp. I really wished to get rid of my uneasiness by getting a Lasik done, but was skeptical about the procedure and affirmatively electing to place my most valuable organ in the harm??s way never made sense to me. However, after my free consultancy with Dell Laser, I got assured that I was in safe hands. The office informed me of my options and advised me to go with the safest procedure, which I ultimately did. The surgery went very smoothly and my vision is as good as new today. I have recommended Dell Laser to lot of my friends and would continue doing so in the future.

Asked my colleagues in medicine for a referral, that's how I learned of Dr. Dell. What impressed me the most was Dr. Cunningham. He's the one I spent the most time with and have followed up with from the start. The front desk staff and the MA/RNs were all professional, polite, and best of all, all smiles:) I have had some minor problems, only because I went in (having been told by Dr. Cunningham and not by any other OD) that I have severe dry eye. My viison is near-perfect, it's as if I never had glasses. The payment plan was a nice option too.

Dr. Dell, smile a little. We won't bite, promise.

After visiting a different Lasik office, I had reservations about having the surgery. I have been in glasses and contacts since the fifth grade. Allergies have made contacts very uncomfortable so I knew it was time to "get 'er done". I was a little worried about the cost so I first visited the other doctor. I had the feeling that it was an assembly line practice and I couldn't trust my eyesight with them. The moment that I walked into Dr. Dell's office, I was at ease and wanted to do the surgery the next day!

The day after surgery, I have 20/15 vision. I am seeing better than I have with any glasses or contacts. I couldn't be happier with the results or the entire process. There was no pain or fear at any moment. I only experienced the "gritty" feeling for an hour, fell asleep for 3 hours and have been perfect ever since.

I would recommend that when you are trusting your vision to a surgeon, make it Dr. Dell and Dr. Cunningham. They are the best in Austin if not in the U.S.

Extremely professional office that puts you at ease throughout the entire surgical process. The surgery takes about 10-15 minutes overall. The staff has a focus on keeping the patient comfortable throughout the process. They are available to answer any questions you may have and recognize that though the surgery is routine for them, it is new for each patient. I was 100% prepared for what to expect throughout each phase of the process. Highly recommended.

I had Custom Wavefront Intralase (LASIK) performed yesterday (7/29) by Dr. Dell and woke up (today) with nearly 20/10 vision. The entire staff at DLC is top-notch and I felt so comfortable with the entire process. They are a little pricier than others, but they are the best at what they do and definitely worth the extra money in the long run. I am so satisfied with the service provided to me and the care in follow up that Dr. Cunningham provides. I told my dad about how easy the procedure was and he is now considering getting it done himself. I would definitely recommend DLC to anyone considering vision correction surgery.

Pros: Most professional staff in Austin

    Cons: None

I was completely blind and now I have perfect vision. I had been wanting laser eye surgery for years now and kept putting it off. Not only is it a large investment, but I was also worried about having to wear my glasses for so long leading up to the surgery. There is a lot to consider... but it is completely worth it! It is truly life changing!

You only have one pair of eyes and I would trust Dell... he is the best in town!

I've worn monovision contacts for several years and decided to make it permanent--no more contacts. Had my surgery 3 weeks ago and am now 20/20. My vision is still adjusting in the intermediate range (common for monovision).

The surgery was quick, totally painless, and kind of fascinating, actually. I slept for a few hours after the surgery.

I have very dry eyes, which Dr. Dell started treating well before the surgery by putting plugs in my tear ducts (again, super fast and zero pain whatsoever) and prescribing eye drops. I am still dealing with that and am using eye drops several times a day as part of my post surgery. All of that complicated my recovery a bit but not too big of a deal. The Restasis and the preservative free Optive eyedrops come in little plastic tubes/vials that have a twist off seal that can then be used as a cap to reseal the vial until you've used all the drops. You can usually get 2-3 uses per vial. Once I started using Restasis and also increased the frequency of Optive eye drops, I saw a dramatic increase in my vision and recovery. I am also using AzaSite to treat inflammation of my eyelids which was slowing my recovery a bit too.

Dr. Cunningham has been very helpful in my post-op follow up visits, explaining things and answering questions, and taking time to make sure I was confident in handling all the info.

I read that Dr. Steven Dell's brother is Michael Dell of Dell computers.

I highly recommend Dell Laser Consultants--you get what you pay for!

I??ve been wearing either glasses or contacts for 35 years and recently decided to get Lasik. The staff at Dell Laser Consultants gave an extremely thorough explanation of the procedure; steps to take beforehand, what to expect after, and answered my questions in an easy to follow ??non-doctorspeak? manner. The procedure itself was painless and took all of ten minutes; I was in at 1:20 PM, given some pre-surgery Valium to relax, and was out the door before 3PM. I was cleared to drive the next day, and my vision has improved even more since then. I would tell anyone who is considering Lasik to visit Dr. Dell and staff; I can??t recommend them strongly enough!

    Where to begin...

I've been in glasses since age 8 and contacts since 19. Horrible astigmatism and near-sightedness (-3.5 in left eye and -4.75 in the right).
Lately my contacts had started to bother me, and I decided enough was enough...Been eyeing getting LASIK done for some time, and through the meetings with Dr. DeFeo at Ultimate Eyecare I decided the pull the trigger.

You *know* you're walking into the right place when you're almost breathless entering the facilities. Clean, warm and welcome.
The staff is super-nice, and really know know what's going on.

Day of surgery you plan on roughly 3 hrs time there. First you'll turn in your forms, pay up and get the paperwork taken care off.
Next, a quick meeting to describe step by step exactly what's going on.
Plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Next, Dr. Cunningham will perform one last check to ensure the prescription and settings are all correct, make you read the letters on the wall etc.

Dr. Steven Dell next sits down with you, explains again exactly what you're here to do, allows for questions and puts you to ease.

Next, Valium...to literally make you chillaaaaaaax. You're in a room with the others who are in front of you waiting to be lasered...:)

The actual procedure itself was cake. You lay down, and hold on to a teddy-bear..(I kid you not)..and you get "friggin lasers" beamed into your "friggin eyes" (yes, I inserted Austin Powers reference). It is completely painless; you're only job is to simply lie still, look where they tell you to look and let the pros do their job.

Once you are done, and I kid you not, your vision is already better. You get your significant other (or someone else who doesn't mind you drooling in their car thanks to the valium) to drive you home and you take a nap.

The next day I am able to get out of bed and see clearly for the first time in 26 yrs.

One final thing: This isn't the cheapest place, far from it. If you are looking for a place that offers lay-away plans and surgery in the back of a car, you're looking for the wrong place.

However, if you are looking for the place that oozes professionalism, that know what's going on and where movie-stars and athletes go, then you've come to the right place.

I had IntraLASIK about 24 hours ago and am already extremely pleased with the results! I drove myself to my follow-up appointment this morning and was amazed that I could already read all the street signs. Everyone at Dell Laser Consultants made me feel comfortable and confident during the entire process. I would recommend them to anyone looking to improve their vision.

I have worn glasses and or contacts since I failed my first eye exam at the age of 6. Now at 35, I am finally free. Free to do so many things others take for granted. Free to see the time on the alarm clock in the middle of the night without fumbling for my glasses. Something like that may seem silly but for those of us whose sight was so bad, it's a GREAT thing!! I did a lot of research before choosing a surgeon. Dr. Dell is, in my opinion, top notch. Not only Dell Laser Center a great facility but Dr. Dell works with Doctors in other cities so that patients like me who don't live in Austin are able to do pre op and post op visits in the towns where we live. After laser surgery, you have to go to many follow up appointments and traveling to Austin each time is just too hard when you work full time. I'm able to take care of all those visits in New Braunfels and that has been a lifesaver. I am SO happy with my vision. It's been just over a month and every day I'm still so excited. My case was a tough one and I was treated with care and concern before, during and after my procedure. Thanks Dr. Dell!!! You're the BEST!!

After wearing gas-permeable contacts for 22 years and having to mess with them at least 20 or more minutes a day, i'm excited.
I'm excited of my new found time. Time that I can enjoy. Time I can go swimming and not worry about losing contacts. I only had the surgery 15 hours ago and I'm sure i'll find many other things to be excited about in the future.
Dr. Cunningham, Dr. Dell and staff were friendly and respectable.
The cost of about $3000 per eye really is not that much when you figure the amount you're saving by not buying contacts, solution and glasses for hopefully the rest of your life. The only glasses you possibly might have to buy are reading glasses in your late forties or fifties.

I'm writing a review because when I was contemplating whether to have this done and who might do it, I read every review I could find. I did a great deal of research on not only the procedure but each doctor/business that provided it. Dr. Dell consistently came up as one of the highest ranked professionals performing the service. He has clearly made it his mission to perform the highest quality service in Austin.

My story is like the others. I put my first set of contacts in when I was 18 and pretty much never took them out. I have always hated glasses. I was -4.25 in my right eye with a slowly worsening astigmatism that wasn't corrected with contacts. My left eye was -3.25. I waited for the industry to perfect Lasik for the past 10 years before I realized that I would be too old to appreciate vision correction if I waited too much longer.

The worst part of having this done for me was wearing my glasses for three weeks straight before the procedure. I haven't done that since I was twelve. It was so miserable that I almost gave up a couple of times. My procedure was in Dec. 2008. My corneas were thick enough that they could create the flaps, so I didn't have to have the ASA (flap-less) procedure done. I just had my one month appointment.

The procedure itself was short and unexciting. You watch the red light and then it's done. The eye washing afterwards was pretty weird but the only part that was remotely painful was the suction ring they put on your eye, and that was more pressure than pain. Afterwards, things were hazy but I could clearly see. That sleeping part when you get home after the procedure is really important. I wish I'd slept longer, but when I woke up, my eyes felt much better and I could look around with too much tearing. The next day was pretty amazing. I could see 20/20. I'm still getting used to my vision. I call it my "high def" vision. Everything is so clear and crisp. Colors seem brighter. I don't really have any halos or starbursts. Lights at night are strange to me because they've always been a bit blurry around the edges. Now they're crisp and sharp. My vision with both eyes at my one month visit was 20/15. I couldn't be happier. I understand that I may have some regression although it's very unlikely. They won't be able to tell that until my three month visit. I'm not worried because Dr. Dell really does make it his mission to try and give great results. I will also say that pre and post op visits with Dr. Cunningham were great. I never had to wait more than a few minutes, and he always took the time to answer all my questions.

Couple of things that weren't so great - wearing the goggles at night for a week was not fun. Imagine sleeping in ski goggles... Not rubbing your eye.. ever again. Drops, drops and more drops for the first month. I've had two bad dry eye days, but otherwise, my eyes feel completely normal.

Bottom line - I am so glad I had this done. It has been everything I hoped it would be. I can't wait to go to Schlitterbahn this summer and be able to SEE while I'm in the water without worrying about my contacts!

I had an older procedure done about 15+ years ago (with another surgeon) called RK that worked good initially but my astigmatism had returned in my left eye. I was having trouble seeing distances which was very limiting to me.

I was nervous about going through the surgery because the ASA procedure would involve having surgery over an older surgery. Dr. Dell and his staff were very helpful in giving me my options as well as the confidence to correct this astigmatism. They were also very helpful in securing the financing to pay for the procedure as well.

I had the surgery with Dr. Dell in December of 09. It was quick and I have continued to improve daily. The vision is tremendous!! Hopefully it will help my golf game too!! :o) Thanks Dr. Dell and staff!!

I'm the type of guy that gets all freaked out when thinking about eye surgery and never thought that I'd go through with it. But my opinion changed after watching my wife go through the process at Dell Laser Consultants and the attention that they gave her.

Lo and behold, one month later I am enjoying perfect vision thanks to the folks at DLC. I strongly recommend that you go see them if you are interested in breaking away from the glasses or contacts.

I was very hesitant to get Lasik for many years and I feel like I did more research than anyone else in the world. After getting a solid idea for myself, I called my brother-in-law (who is an ophthalmologist in Seattle) to ask for advice. He told me it was a very safe procedure and that I was being way too critical. He also told me that it was a no-brainer because Dr. Dell was one of the most famous and well respected Lasik surgeons in the country. I knew he was well respected and a big name in academic publications (try googling his name), but the deal was sealed when I found out that eye doctors go to him for their own surgery.

The surgery center is really nice and the staff was awesome. Unfortunately, I did not qualify for the intralase (the type you get better immediately), so I had to have the advanced surface ablation. I was a little freaked out because they said it could take weeks to get perfect. The surgery itself was painless and took like a minute per eye. They said I would not see well, but the very next day I was 20/20! Then came the weekend and I was super light sensitive, they said it was normal but it still was pretty tough. By the next week I was up to 20/15 and my eyes felt great.

They are a little more expensive than the other places I checked out, but worth every penny. My brother-in-law (the ophthalmologist) is also the cheapest guy in the world and he told me that what ever the cost was to get it done with Dr. Dell it would be worth it. He was right. Another cool thing is that the Laser they use is the specific brand that they use on fighter pilots and NASA astronauts.

Dell Laser Consultants was a great experience and I would recommend the doctors and their staff to everyone in Austin strongly considering Lasik.

The BEST part about DLC was the staff. The women working there made me comfortable and really feel like they cared about my well being. (Other Lasik places I visited only felt like they wanted my money- not DLC).

During my surgery, I was super nervous. One woman even let me squeeze her hand. Dr. Dell was encouraging and very trust worthy as well as Dr. Cunningham.

All in all, great experience, a very comfortable environment, and I felt safe.

Well, not only are Dr. Dell and his staff THE BEST, I can't believe that I had waited this long to have the procedure!

If you are considering this non-invasive surgery, ON YOUR EYES, go to Dr. Dell---he is fantastic!

My corneas were too think for LASIK so I had PRK (more invasive, longer recovery time). Staff @ DLC were very helpful, took the time to explain all the minor details I hadn't even thought of fretting over before - I was prepared come morning of the surgery except was too nervous to eat before I came. Big Mistake - due to sedatives, its recommended you eat breakfast and they had plenty of munchies on hand! Yay! Also gave me lots of Optive sample drops ($12/box @ pharmacy!) so that was definitely helpful. Brought in the Rx drops day I came in and they explained everything before I went in for surgery.

Surgery itself: glad this is a 1 time thing, took all of 10-15 minutes in a cold room with the doc, 2 nurses, and a huge warm stuffed dog sitting on top of me for comfort. Nice touch! Then I was out, home, and sleeping cozily in bed for the next 6 hours. I woke up seeing tons better, and vision has been gradually improving since then.

Pros: Upfront, Efficient, Great Post-op care (Advanced EyeCare)

    Cons: Expensive

I can't praise Dr Dell and his team enough. I have worn contacts and glasses for 15 years and decided enough was enough! I was referred to Dell Laser Consultants by my doctor and feel lucky this was her preferred choice. The staff was very kind and answered all my questions no matter how crazy they were. The exams leading up to my custom intralase were very thorough and they reassured me everything has to be 100% correct before they would proceed. The procedure was unbelievably quick and easy. There was NO pain at all. I was in and out of the OR in 15 minutes or less. The following day I had my followup appointment with my doctor and could see 20/15 individually out of each eye and 20/10 with both eyes!!! What a feeling of freedom! Thank you Dr Dell, Dr Cunningham and all the wonderful girls you work with. I could not be happier!

I have been an optometrist for nearly 20 years. I have worked with Dr. Steven Dell, sending him patients for roughly 15 years. Over the years, I have sent him some of my more difficult surgical challenges in addition to several refractive surgery patients.
I have discovered a few things that I really like about Dr. Dell and his organization. The most important thing I have discovered is that they will only do refractive surgery when everything is 100% right. I have had a few instances where I referred a pt. for surgery and thought they were a great candidate but upon final testing at the surgery center, one measurement was not quite right and so either surgery was cancelled or postponed. In other words, there was a question about whether or not the patient was a good candidate. Other surgery centers would have done the surgery regardless, I know, but DLC did not. I like that. That is why I trust this center. Furthermore, I keep seeing results like 20/15 in each eye and even witnessed a patient read 20/10 and get every letter right. I have never seen that before. Frankly, I got a little jealeous. So 2 months ago DLC performed laser refractive surgery on my eyes and I am 20/15 in each eye. But the quality of vision goes beyond what can be measured in the exam room on the eye chart. Everything is just crisp. I have never seen this good before in my whole life. Words cannot describe the joy you get from not only the awesome vision, but the freedom to see without glasses or contacts. I am greatful to the Lord for my good vision but you can bet that I am also thankful to Dr. Dell and his staff for their commitment to excellence.

I had worn contacts for over 22 years. In the past year and a half, I started experiencing Corneal Ulcers. Each ulcer I experienced, left a scar on my cornea. I knew I had to get out of the contacts but the thought of going back to the glasses was unthinkable. After seeing two other eye surgeons who stated that I was not a candidate for the Intralasik due to the scarring on my cornea, I saw Dr Dell. He immediately assured me that he could do the surgery and told me of another person that was in my situation that he had recently operated on that was doing very well. I had the surgery two days later. It was one of the best decision I could have made. Everyone was supportive at the office and I felt like they had taken a personal interest in me. The surgery was painless and quick. When I awoke the next morning, my world was clear for the first time without the benefit of contacts or glasses. I would recommend Dr Dell to anyone considering this procedure and have already done so, and my surgery was three days ago. Many thanks to Dr Dell and his staff at the Dell Laser Consultants office!

I have worn glasses since I was in the 7th grade. I was not happy about it then, but I became use to it over the years.
About ten years ago I started looking seriously at vision correction surgery, but found that, at the time, I was not a candidate for LASIK because my cornea's were "too thin". I was told I was an excellent candidate for PRK, but I was just not comfortable with it. So I would keep checking to see if technology had advanced enough every so often, but about two years ago I decided to stop considering it and just stick with glasses.
That was until recently when I learned about an increasing problem I was having with my right eye that glasses were simply not addressing. I was referred to Dr. Dell. I had visited Dell Laser Consultants back in 2002, they still had me on file, were still friend and thorough, and I was very shocked when they said I qualified for Custom Wavefront Intralase. I figured that I would have to undergo ASA (the newer version of PRK) or have a lens replacement procedure for my right eye at the very least. Due to their practice having some of the most advanced equipment in the area, that only became an option if I felt more comfortable with it. Obviously I chose the Custom Wavefront Intralase.
The staff has been great and very professional. I was fortunate enough to be able to schedule my surgery for the following week.
Like other people, I had some understandable concerns about the procedure, but the staff and Dr. Dell were able to answer all my questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire procedure. I left being able to see better than I had in decades without glasses.
I never felt pressured to undergo any procedure, they were extremely thorough before, during and after the surgery, and I was never made to feel like I was "just another patient". That level of professionalism and patient service is simply too hard to find these days.
Dell Laser Consultants easily deserves the outstanding rating I am giving them and I hope they continue to earn well deserved praise for a long time to come.

I had a VERY bad astigmatism and have always wore glasses. Late 2008 I decided to get Lasik and after careful consideration decided to go with Dell Laser.

I had the surgery in mid-Jan and haven't been happier! I just had my 3 month check and have perfect vision in both eyes. The staff did everything I asked and were very professional. The pre-op, surgery day, and follow-up visits were all included and have gone perfect so far. My wife is going to get it done next year and we're definitely going to DLC again.

The decision to undergo laser vision correction is an important and exciting one, but all the available information can be somewhat overwhelming. If you decide to visit our center in Austin, you will see first hand how we thoroughly examine and counsel our patients regarding the best options for their particular condition.

We encourage everyone to take some time and research any surgeon they are considering using. Although many claim to be the best, a little research will should help clarify who is a real leader in their feild. I encourage you to go to www.dellcustomlasik.com to learn why pilots, athletes, and other doctors choose us for their own eyes.
